Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Where's The Box?!

The twig man, as Cail described, growled, he looked at Cail with pure malice. He was puzzled about the situation, "Who are you? Why are you meddling with my business?!"

Cail wondered, "Do you think I'm that stupid to tell you who I am?"

"Interrupting mission from Hollow Accord means death! You're next on the bounty!" The man said, looking very intimidating.

Cail didn't care much. "I already did what I did. Too late for regret." Although the man looked very imposing, based on what Cail was seeing, something inside the man shattered and all that was left inside of him was a very unstable void energy.

He twisted the accelerator and drove straight to the man.

The man looked at him in panic. He screamed, "They will be alerted once I die!" He tried to dodge but his body was weakened by the parasite. He was hit head-on by the motorcycle.

Looking at the body sprawled on the ground, Cail did a U-turn. He ran over the guy again, but this time, instead of being flung away by the motorcycle, the man was cut in half. Contents of his stomach spilled out.

"Ahhhhhhhhh!" The man screamed in agony. Cail was a bit shocked at the man's vitality. Being torn like that looked like instant death to him.

"Letting you live is not an option either," he murmured.

"That Bram one was also kinda tough. Are Void Users really that hard to kill?" Cail tilted his head. "I'm curious."

He drove his motorcycle a considerable distance, then he twisted the accelerator with full force.

The moment his tire came in contact with that man's head, it was like a watermelon.

Baam!

The man's head exploded, splattering white brain matter all over the ground.

Cail came to a conclusion. "The head didn't have any mutation. It's just a normal human head and a normal human body. Just a bit more vitality. Of course maybe the parasite did something to that guy."

He was frustrated. He looked down at his tires and whined, "So sad. Now I look like a crime scene. I forgot to consider that it was murder. How do I clean this up?"

He really didn't feel much about murdering the guy. Does it have something to do with the fact that he looked very not human, or is Cail just naturally cold-blooded?

"Ugh, whatever. It saved me from feeling sick."

Then he thought of something. He clapped his hands together. "Oh how stupid of me. This is the Lawless Slums. A lot of people should be happy to do the work."

"But I seem to have forgotten about something?" He looked around and saw the dying man in a suit on the ground.

Cail panicked. He jumped down from his motorcycle and rushed to Biron. Biron was barely conscious and his eyes were already starting to drop.

"Hey hey! Don't die!" Cail tried to nudge him awake.

He looked at Biron's wounds and gasped. It looked like someone took chunks out of it. Cail wanted to do first aid but those wounds were too deep and too wide. There needed to be thread to fix that.

Cail found a phone in the man's pocket. He called the police and the hospital. As for the rest, it just depends on this man's luck.

He did minor first aid for the small bleeding and wrapped the large bleeding with the man's tattered coat. As for the intestines, he was a bit helpless about that. He couldn't just stuff it back, right? It's filled with mud. Fortunately, it's not like he got the entire intestines coming out, just a part of it.

He had no idea if this would cause internal bleeding, but as for now, he could only try his best to prevent this guy from dying.

"Bro, don't die or else my achievement for tonight would feel incomplete."

That was a hero defeating the villain scene—if the victim is dead, it's meaningless.

Cail had no idea who this guy is, but he was optimistic about this one. He could sense something from this man that is similar to those students. It's the void energy. This man's vitality will probably be tougher than normal.

It wasn't a long wait, actually. It was a quick response that Cail found surprising. The ambulance and the police quickly arrived. This was the first time Cail saw them this responsive.

He looked at the man once again and drove off on his motorcycle. He should get it cleaned.

...

When he finally arrived home, he threw his jacket off and took off all his clothes.

"I want to burn it." Cail felt that bad luck seemed to cling to those clothes. He hurriedly rushed into the shower.

While scrubbing his body, he finally noticed. On his left arm was a mark. It resembled a vein, just red in color.

"It did not go away." If this was a simple mark left behind by sleep, it should have been gone a long time ago.

He didn't know what to feel about it as things seemed to have spiraled out of control. He had countless questions but no answers.

After stepping out of the shower, wrapped in a shower robe, he looked at his face in the mirror.

"Subconjunctival hemorrhage?" His eyes were filled with blood. It wasn't dripping or anything, it's just there. A blood vessel seemed to have popped, probably from the strain of the glasses.

"How do I deal with this tomorrow?" Sunglasses? He's already blind enough. Those sunglasses will make it worse.

"Whatever." He's gonna sleep the entire time anyway.

After dressing up in his pajamas, he jumped into his bed.

"My body is killing me. I was supposed to relax and rest. Why did this happen?" He felt sad just thinking about it.

Stretching his sore body for a while, he sat up after he finally managed to muster any energy. He crouched down under his bed and...

"Where's the box?" His eyes widened.

He hurriedly stood up and checked the windows. "I'm sure I locked the house and my room before going out. Where did it go?"
