Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Turning point

A human!

Laymar looked at the approaching woman with his eyes full of hope.

But little did he know- humans and dragons were sworn enemies. And humans were ordered to kill dragons on sight.

"My, my. What do we have here?"

The red haired woman's eyes turned blank and cold, like a killer's.

As she was slowly walking towards Laymar, she opened her right palm. On her tender palm rested a very tiny silver sword.

"Resize."

The moment she uttered that, the miniature sword on her palm began to grow. Within seconds, it expended inti a full-size sword, now about 30 centimeters long

Laymar gasped and flinched back. His hopeful eyes shattered. Just when he thought, a hope had arrived, he was confronted with something much dangerous than the dragon that was about to take his life a moment ago.

The woman dashed forward while gripping the handle of the sword in her hand.

"Oh no. I doomed." Laymar clenched his teeth, as he stared at the approaching doomful fate, despair filling his eyes.

Within seconds, the woman stood before him, and pointing her sword at the Laymar's neck, black dragon like neck.

"Tell me. Are you a good dragon, or a bad one, just like the one I slayed?" The woman asked with a heavily and killer expression.

Laymar swallowed hard. He knew she wasn't Messing around. And, one wrong answer would lead to his demise. Moreover, Laymar certainly didn't see himself as a good person. After all, he did kill so many people in the war. Even though, his homeland might consider him a hero, he knew all to well that he was nothing more than a mere murderer. But he just couldn't say that he was a bad guy. So, after a gulp, he said, "I am a.."

"Cute."

Without warring, the woman- who had just looked like she was ready to kill- suddenly hugged him, her expression changing to one of pure joy.

Wait, what?

As Laymar was enveloped in an unexpected embrace, his face twisted in shock.

The red haired woman smiled as her cheeks turned red. "You are a cute one. So, small and innocent looking."

Cute and innocent looking, am I? I wonder about that. Laymar thought with a ridiculing tone while wearing a blank expression.

But more importantly didn't she look like she was about to kill to a moment? Was she just messing around, after all?

The red haired woman lefted adorable tiny dragon in the air.

"You definitely aren't a bad dragon."

Yeah. I wonder.

Laymar thought as a drop of sweat dripped down his forehead, feeling a little guilt.

After a few moment, the red haired woman lefted Laymar down, and said, "You are lucky that humans didn't find you. If they had you would be dead right about now."

Laymar frowned his purple eyes.

"Aren't you a human too? I mean you just said 'if humans had found me'."

The red haired woman widened her eyes slightly.

"Oh. I forgot to say OTHER." Then she put her hand on the back of her head, and said while smiling, "Sorry my bad."

"Oh."

"By the way, My name is Sirena Miamai. Happy to meet you. And what might your name be, little dragon?"

Laymar became a little hesitant to answer. He was feeling that something might be off with her. So, after a brief pause, he said, "Laymar Hyurai." Without wasting another breath, he asked, "Previously you mentioned that 'if other human had find me I would be dead'. What did you mean by that?"

"Laymar Hyurai, I see." Sirena muttered to herself. Then looking at Laymar, she said, "50 years ago, Dragon Dungeons appeared all over the world, throwing the world into chaos. Thus humanity attacked by them. But humanity didn't back away from their attacks. Right after the appearance of the dungeons humanity awakened magic power. That was how an endless silent war between humans and dragons began."

"What?"

Suddenly Laymar's face grew pale realizing that he was screwed. After all, even though he was reincarnated with a dragon body, he still wanted to live among humans. But it seems it was just a wishful thinking at this point.

This complicates things.

"Wait, so why did you spear my live, then?" Laymar asked with a panicked face.

Serina closed her eyelids, as she smiled tenderly.

"I don't think every dragon is bad. Just like how there's bad among humans, there's also bad among dragons. This is precisely why we should not judge a race based on their negative aspects. Instead, always look for positive aspects first before judging."

Hearing her say that, Laymar was taken a back. Maybe she isn't a bad person, after all. So, his tensed face relaxed a bit.

"Anyway, what is your power?" Serina walked past him, as she asked, and sat down.

Laymar turned around, and watched her retrieve her rods.

He wasn't still sure if he should still believe her. But this could also be a great chance for Laymar to level up. Because if he tried to fight a dragon all alone, he might end in the same situation as he had with the Shadow Dragon.

I will only tell her about some of my abilities.

With this thought in his mind, he opened his mouth, "I have Magician power. I can use illusion, Create skills and all."

"I see." Serina stood up. "That's interesting. But.. You are still weak. So, you will have a lot of trouble if you don't become strong fast. If both humans and dragons were to come after you, you would be dead."

Then she looked at the blueish sky, with a pensive look. "But something buggs me about. Normally, a dragon do not come after a dragon. But for some reason the Shadow Dragon wanted eat you."

Now he had to not only worry about humans but also about dragons. So, the motivation for Laymar to grow stronger increased as his eyes became firm with resolve. Not believing her became least of his concern.

"How can I get stronger quickly?" He asked with a determined face.

The woman smirked, "Come with me. We will kill dragons."
