Chapter 3 - Star Maps and Stargates!

"Phew—"

Returning to his exclusive top-floor space, Imu subconsciously let out a breath.

Under the endless starlight and moonlight above, he walked toward a peculiar large tree not far away.

This place had a name: the Chamber of the Moon.

The entire environment was identical to the surface of the moon.

A glance revealed a silver-gray ground dotted with craters of various sizes.

The Milky Way and the bright moon above were real.

However, during the day, the night sky would be simulated, ensuring it was always nighttime here.

Thus, the lush, verdant tree stood out starkly.

As Imu approached the tree, he noticed a door and two windows on its trunk.

When he opened the wooden door and stepped inside, he found a complete suite.

Bedroom, dining room, living room, a bathroom with separate wet and dry areas, a bathtub, and various furniture, including a Den Den Mushi—everything was there.

It turned out to be a spacious treehouse, even with stairs leading upstairs! Honestly, he was quite satisfied with all this.

After all, before his transmigration, he couldn't afford such a nice house. Now that he was back in his treehouse, with no one else around, the cold and aloof expression on Imu's face softened as he plopped down onto the soft sofa.

Leaning back, he stared blankly at the wooden ceiling.

It had been nearly a year since he transmigrated into this world, taking over this body and identity.

From the initial shock, excitement, and thrill to calmness, it had taken less than three days.

After all, no matter how intense one's emotions were, they couldn't last long.

Once he calmed down, he didn't immediately take action but first familiarized himself with the timeline.

Then, like the original Imu, he quietly stayed within the Chamber of the Moon.

His goal was to familiarize and master the abilities he now possessed, as well as the memories.

First, regarding abilities.

Before transmigrating, he was just an ordinary person, so he couldn't immediately adapt to the power of this body.

Thus, he secretly practiced for a while.

To the maids responsible for his daily life, it seemed that Lord Imu had simply become more active recently, often practicing swordplay under the moonlight outside.

Memories were equally important.

This Imu had lived for over 800 years. Even if the brain automatically filtered out useless trivial memories, the sheer volume of information far exceeded that of an ordinary person.

Moreover, familiarizing himself with the memories was also a process of understanding himself.

He needed to grasp the original owner's personality and habits.

Otherwise, he might slip up when facing the Five Elders.

He could gradually change himself later.

For these two reasons, even when Roger became the Pirate King outside, Imu didn't step out of the Chamber of Moon once.

Because he knew that at this stage, nothing was more important than fully mastering his own strength!

It wasn't until a few days ago that he finally succeeded and emerged.

He revealed Roger's hiding place to the Five Elders, instructing them to order the Navy to arrest him.

Although Roger would eventually turn himself in, surrendering and being arrested were two different things.

Even if he surrendered, the World Government could still announce it as an arrest.

But Imu felt it was better to arrest him as soon as possible. At the same time, he wanted to give Sengoku, Sakazuki, Borsalino, and Kuzan a chance to boost their achievements.

As for Garp, it was just an extra layer of insurance.

Even though Roger was terminally ill, he was still the Pirate King, Roger.

Who knows if he would choose to resist without voluntarily surrendering?

What if Roger really decided to fight?

In that case, Sengoku alone might not be able to hold him off, and it could even implicate the trio of 'Chicken, Dog, and Monkey.'

Their strength hasn't reached its peak yet.

If one or two of them were to be taken out, I'd be devastated! But now, everything went smoothly. "No matter what, preventing the Great Pirate Era from emerging is definitely the right move," Imu thought silently in his heart.

"Starmap."

Then he summoned the cheat that had accompanied him since his transmigration to this world.

Yes, a cheat. In this day and age, as a transmigrator, especially one who ended up in such a high-risk world like the Pirate King's, how could one survive without a cheat?

Although, to be honest, he felt that his current identity, status, strength, wealth, and lifespan were already quite overpowered.

Compared to those who transmigrated as slaves, pirates, or commoners.

His start could be considered a heavenly hand, a lucky draw.

Even though, according to the original plot, he would likely be overthrown and killed twenty-four years later.

As Imu silently called out in his heart.

A magnificent virtual image of a spiral galaxy disk appeared before his eyes.

Every star within it was shining brightly.

At the same time.

The prompt in the lower left corner remained quietly, waiting for his response.

[A random small Stargate can be opened]

Over the past few days, he had pretty much understood everything there was to know about this cheat.

He had even read the manual over and over again.

After all, it might very well be his lifeline in the future. But he was wrong.

Dead wrong.

It's not that the cheat was useless.

But for now, it was useless in his current situation.

According to the manual, it wasn't some system.

But a Starmap that recorded all the galaxies, stars, planets, and satellites in the universe, and it updated in real time. It looked incredibly impressive!

At the same time, it came with a function called 'Stargate.'

Every year, it would randomly open a small Stargate leading to another planet.

It was said to be three meters high and two meters wide—not too small, but not too big either.

According to the manual, the planet connected by this Stargate, while not guaranteed to be a civilized one, would definitely be a solid and stable planet.

So there was no need to worry about stepping through and finding yourself in a mysterious gas cloud. And once you chose to open this Stargate.

It would simultaneously mark the exact location of that planet in the universe on the Starmap.

Meaning that if Imu had the capability, he could fly a spaceship there.

Although that seemed a bit silly, since the Stargate could take you there instantly... But what if it was the other way around?

In other words, if one day he flew a spaceship to a certain planet.

Then that planet would also be marked on the Starmap, and the Stargate permission would automatically open.

He could instantly return to Sea Star (the Pirate Planet), or instantly travel to other planets with opened Stargates.

Wouldn't that be much more useful? But then again.

This Starmap and Stargate weren't of much use to him in his current predicament.

As the saying goes, to secure the outside, one must first settle the inside.

He hadn't even fully controlled and cleaned up this starfish (Pirate Planet), and he was already facing a huge crisis twenty-four years later.

Why even think about the completely unknown vastness of the stars? In the end, the Starmap and Stargate would hardly be of any help to him in the coming events.

Of course, it was also possible that he just hadn't figured it out yet. "Perhaps, if I'm truly driven to a dead end in the future, the Starmap and Stargate might become my escape route."

Thinking this, Imu felt even more at ease.

With his terrifying combat power and various abilities, as long as the planet's environment wasn't too harsh, making a living wouldn't be a big problem.

"Since I already have an escape route, it's time to tidy up this world properly!"
