The next day came so fast.
Sonia woke up with mixed feelings as she would be walking down the aisle today with one of the richest men in the city.
She still wonder why everyone wants it to be a secret wedding though.
She would've wanted to get married to the absolute love of her life and her wedding being the best in town but here she is getting married to someone she barely knows with a small wedding that involves just her mum, her so called husband and his mum.
Just as she was gathering her thoughts, a knock was heard at her door and her mum came in.
"Good morning mum", Sonia greeted forcing out a smile.
"Good morning baby, hope you had a great night?", her mum responded.
"You need to be fast…. They're already on their way", she added handing her a new dress to put on.
Sonia could feel a rush of blood flow through her veins as her mum made that statement.
"Was she ready to meet them." She thought.
She had no other option than to prepare immediately as she has accepted to become his wife.
She stands facing the mirror as she puts on her dress, a dazzling white short dress which brought out her curves.
Sonia breathed out as she examined herself. She makes a beautiful bride, she said smiling to herself.
She puts on her jewelry and her matching shoes.
Just as she was still preparing, she heard a sound outside, a sound of a car.
Curiosity got a hold of her and she decided to check through the window.
Not able to identify those inside the car she gave hope peeping but she already knew they came for her.
She closed the window and did a final touch up.
Just then, her mum entered in a hurry.
"They're here baby", she said instantly picking up her luggage and "you look gorgeous baby", she said hiding her face trying not to shed a tear.
"Thanks mummy" Sonia responded giving her a side hug.
They both descended downstairs to meet the driver sent to take them to the venue.
On getting to the venue, Sonia walked into the church still having a double mind.
The thought of running away came but she waved it aside.
As she looked around the interior area of the church, a screeching sound was made and the church door opened revealing a handsome man putting on a dazzling black suit.
He was even more handsome and charismatic in person. His charisma and apprearance were breathtaking.
Sonia's jaw dropped, her nerves tightened and she felt nauseated instantly.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. She wouldn't want to behave as a cheap slut.
Michael took steps forward and Sonia's heart skipped with each step he took.
Even though she had seen his pictures, he looks more stunning in person.
"Hey Sonia" Michael said, extending his hand while maintaining a straight gaze, "great to meet you".
Sonia took his hands, trying to play cool. "Hey Michael", great to meet you too, she said releasing the air that had stuck there for a while.
"Let it begin", the priest said and Sonia's lungs stopped for a moment.
They both marched forward to the alter for exchange of vows and blessings.
In no distant time, everything was done and they were pronounced husband and wife.
Her mother and Michael's mum which were the only ones around clapped congratulating them.
Every other bride would have felt so happy cos it's her big day but not for Sonia who is aware that the journey may not be so smooth.
"Let's go" Michael said climbing downs the stairs.
"Can't even hold my hands?" Sonia to herself staring at his back snaring as he walks out of the church.
"Congratulations baby", her mom said giving her a hug.
"Thank you mum", Sonia said trying not to sound sad.
They stepped out of the church together.
"Hello ma'am, the car is ready to take you home", a man said opening the door.
She exhaled deeply trying to calm her nerves down as she's going to a different home entirely.
She went inside the car and saw her newly wedded husband pressing his phone and couldn't even lift his eyes to look at eye.
The driver started the car and the journey went smoothly with silence throughout.
The car came to a halt in the middle of a big and beautiful compound making Sonia to wake up from her sleep.
"So soon?", she asked herself. She can't even recall how she ended up sleeping in the car.
The house keepers came around to welcome them back home, giving wide smiles.
Sonia smiled back as she stepped out of the car.
She scanned through the compound, admiring the beauty.
She was walked into the house and she stood in a corner checking out the beauty of the building and how neatly the decoration is.
"Ma'am can I show you your room now or you still want to stay in the sitting room". One of the house keepers asked jolting her from an unconscious state.
"Yes, please", Sonia answered walking behind the house keeper.
They climbed the stairs passing through several doors before they stopped.
"Ma'am, this is your room", the house keeper said, revealing a large room with decorated interior.
"Thank you", Sonia said stepping into the room. "Why am I given a different room from my husband", she asked herself pouting her lips.
"Ma'am, did you say anything", the house keeper asked coming closer.
Sonia coughed trying not to be caught. "No I didn't, thank you, you can leave", she said discharging her immediately.
Sonia walked round the room locating the bathroom and toilet.
She needed to bath and rest before going to meet her husband.
Just as she was about undressing, she heard her husband's voice downstairs and she quickly came out of the room just to see him in a hurry to leave the house.
"Why would he be leaving the house, shouldn't they be spending the day together", Sonia asked herself shuddering her shoulders.
"It was none of her business though" she said and went back to her room trying not to get too worked out about it.
