Chapter 2 - A Familiar Time Traveler

Under a clear night sky via Ashur's room sunroof that showed a clear view of the stars uninterrupted by light, a ship Ashur recognized as Bulma's Time Machine appeared as if straight out of the manga or anime bar the designs that make it a capsule corp product, it designed with simple pale light grey paint.

A familiar, at least to Ashur, a young man about the age of 20 sat behind its opening cockpit with his purple hair and undercut. Of course, Ashur recognized him as Trunks, his third favorite character of the series, up until Super came out and did him dirty. He wore his iconic outfit, except instead of the capsule corp logo on his jean jacket, the time patrol symbol sat in its stead.

Trunks had a complicated look on his face as he leaped out of the Time Machine and landed in front of the two would-be multiversal menaces; he rarely got called to times when his mother was this young and his master was just born.

"Whatever you two are about to do, I suggest you don't, or I will have to stop you in the name of the time patrol. "The young man sighed as if tired of his mission already. He looked to be not fully experienced in his time patrol journey. Maybe he had just started, Ashur thought. He didn't look very confident, as he imagined a trillionaire and Saiyan prince's son would.

"If you're going to interrupt, can we at least get a name? "Bulma put her hands on her hips and eyed the newcomer. He weirdly looked familiar to her. Putting out her hand, she asked for a shake." Hi, my name is Bulma, and this is Ashur. What's your name?"

"Sorry, ma'am. I forgot my manners. I am trunks of the time patrol." He appeared flustered, having forgotten his mother's assertiveness. He reached his trembling hand out to meet hers, dying to feel the soft texture that was so familiar when he was just a child, but he was swiftly rejected.

"I hardly think I'm old enough to be a ma'am; in fact, I'd argue I'm only a few years older than you, sir, and what's with this time patrol? I haven't heard of anything like that, and I would be the first to know if someone created time travel!"

As a veteran Bulma argument specialist, Ashrur enjoyed the show. He remembered the harrowing time he spent trying to convince her to change her wish to something "actually important" and having her either not speak to him for days at a time or constantly yell instead for months.

Using the time he gained from this family reunion, he thought of how his plans would change. It wasn't like Ashur hadn't thought of this happening; it was just that he thought it would happen way earlier when he constantly used the dragon balls or during the actual story. He had long since given up on the thought of this warrior coming, though, but since he came, maybe he could convince him to join. Having someone like Trunks to carry could absolutely make the journey easier.

Stretching his face into a smile that seemed foreign at this point, Ashur joined the fray, hoping to end this convo as soon as possible as he didn't know how long the portal that no one else seemed to notice would stay open.

"Uhh, sorry, ma'am. I truly have no problem with you; it's just the way I was raised. I only came here for Ashur. For whatever reason, a time anomaly is supposed to happen here in connection to him. I only want to talk." The young man scratched at his scalp, a little nervous.

"Raised!" Bulma silently shook her head." ever raised you ought to have taught you what pretty young women-"

"Bulma, he's right. Since he's only here to talk, we should at least give him something to work with. Plus, it will let me explain more," Bulma responded with a slight pout, her eyes simply saying, "Get on with it."

"OK then, Trunks, was it? I know you have a job to do, and your systems may have alerted you to a time anomaly, but this is much more than just that. I suggest both of you take a seat." Corvus pointed to his customized Pokemon couch. It was one of the first franchises he released into the world to get a start in regards to money. The pair sat on opposite sides, though he could feel one longing for the other.

10 minutes later

"If what you're saying is true, then I should get the rest of the time patrol on this; time manipulation alone is enough to destroy a universe, let alone a multiversal calamity on this scale."

"Well, that's another problem we have," Ashur stroked his chin. I can only bring two people with me for now, and I don't know how powers such as yours would transfer to any new universe we come across. For now, I will invite you; just push yes when the prompt comes up."

"OK, but have you picked the other person yet?" The man tapped the prompt that appeared in the air." I have a few people in mind. "Trunks thought of a specific kind-hearted individual along with his beast of a master, though his thought was soon crushed as Bulma spoke.

"Nope, I'm already going, and it's final."

Witnessing the Companion tab change, Ashur noticed a prompt he hadn't paid attention to because he had to explain things.

[Warning: due to the length of the portal opening, location in the chosen universe will be random, and the portal will automatically teleport your party in ten minutes( 10 seconds remaining)]

"Guys, we have a change of plans. We will not be together, and we have only a little time left before we are teleported in. "Ashur felt pressure in his neck and chest rise as his heart beat against his chest rapidly. He pointed the growing portal out to the pair, who also looked a bit surprised.

" Remember this is a new universe, and there will be new rules that apply; for example, your ki might not work there, nor any transformations you may have, at least at the start."

"what? Why won't we be able to land together? Didn't you say we would be together? Bulma panicked, not because she was entirely afraid but because she knew she was the most vulnerable of getting picked off."

"I still need to report back to the patrol." Trunks quickly fiddled with his watch as a beam swiftly shot out. "Is there a way we can get her off the team? I don't think it's safe if we're not around, "Trunks shouted as the portal began making a loud whirling noise."

5

"Hey, I can handle myself."

4

"No, he's right." Ashur went through his system, trying to find where to kick her off or get her to leave. "Bulma, is there an option on your side to leave"

3

"Hurry and find it; if you don't get free, it could be the end of you, noooo!" Trunks seemed extremely on edge, reliving a constant throughout his life, constant disaster.

2

"It's right here; relax. "Bulma pointed into the void

"Click it now! We have no time! Trunks, remember the rules are different, and please try to survive!"

Silence commenced as the portal swallowed up the room, leaving only a time flare in the sky. Time slowed down to a crawl, leaving the world in stasis.
