Chapter 11 - "Extraordinary Power!"

"There's no way this thing doesn't work," Wei Yuan thought to himself.

After all, he'd already experienced the ridiculously lucky effects of that "Open the Door to Fortune" skill.

Still, he figured he needed to experiment with it a bit more.

"Eh, whatever. Better to start thinking about what comes next."

Over the past few days, he'd managed to stockpile a decent amount of supplies.

Since his basic needs were covered, it was time to expand his range of activity. He was ready to explore more of this world.

And this wasn't just any regular world—this was a place where actual Buddhas existed.

So, his next goal was clear:

Leave the starter village and head to Caixu Town.

Once he made up his mind, Wei Yuan quickly packed up.

He carefully hid most of his treasures—rare herbs like ginseng and lingzhi—in a safe spot, bringing only a little cash and a machete with him. After that, he locked up the temple.

He mounted his mule and started down the dusty yellow dirt road, heading out of the village.

As he got further away, the road split off into several paths.

He chose the main road, assuming it would lead to town. The smaller paths probably just connected to other villages.

But before long, he hit a problem.

The road up ahead branched into three separate forks—and they all looked basically the same.

Now that was tricky.

As he stood there thinking, a dark-skinned middle-aged man appeared in the distance, carrying a heavy shoulder pole full of goods.

Wei Yuan tensed up a little but still smiled and got down from his mule.

"Uncle, I'm a bit lost. Mind giving me some directions?"

The man glanced at him, set down his load, and wiped the sweat off his forehead.

"You from around here, kid?" he asked. "First time out, huh? Otherwise, you'd know your way."

"Yeah, first time. I'm trying to get to Caixu Town—do you know which way I should go?"

The man chuckled, then started gesturing with his hands as he explained the route.

Wei Yuan listened carefully, forming a mental map as he memorized the directions.

After thanking the man, he hopped back on his mule and continued down the road.

As he got closer to Caixu Town, the number of people on the road increased.

He asked a few more travelers for directions, just to be sure, and they all confirmed the same route.

So he picked up the pace.

About two and a half hours later, Wei Yuan looked up and saw a fairly large settlement in the distance.

Rows of white walls and blue-tiled rooftops appeared before him.

On the wide main road, people bustled back and forth.

"Wow, pretty lively," he thought, feeling a little excited.

He got off the mule and led it into the town.

Shops lined the street, full of colorful goods, and there were street vendors all along the way.

As he walked, a sudden burst of cheering came from up ahead.

"Quick! Something's going on up there!" someone shouted.

A crowd rushed toward the noise.

Wei Yuan, curious, followed them.

Soon, he saw what the commotion was about.

Two people had squared off in the middle of the street, ready to fight.

They charged at each other just as Wei Yuan arrived.

This piqued his interest. Since this world had immortals and Buddhas, he was curious to see what their martial arts were like.

Their movements were fast, sure—but compared to the action scenes in action films, it wasn't anything too flashy.

As they fought, they kept shifting positions.

Then one of them suddenly threw a palm strike—the opponent dodged, and the attack slammed into a stone monument behind him.

BOOM!

The stone monument shattered into pieces.

"Holy shit!" Wei Yuan gasped.

That slab of stone was thick, and it exploded from just one palm strike?!

He stood there, stunned, eyes wide in disbelief.

And just as he was processing that, things got even crazier.

The guy who smashed the stone saw that his opponent had dodged, so he decided to go all in.

He grabbed a huge decorative rock nearby—over three meters tall—and hurled it like it was nothing.

"What the actual f—?! This dude's not human!"

Wei Yuan's jaw dropped. There was no way a normal person could have that kind of strength. This world really was on a whole different level. Even their martial artists had superhuman power.

CRASH!

The rock smashed into the ground and exploded into chunks.

Larger pieces flew out in all directions, hitting people in the crowd.

Chaos erupted—blood, screaming, people getting hit left and right.

Wei Yuan snapped back to his senses, heart pounding.

He had zero interest in watching the fight now.

Yanking his mule, he rushed into a narrow alley to avoid getting caught in the madness.

Better safe than sorry.
