Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: The Primal Brakor

Sonia lunged primitively at the mysterious hero, her jaw wild open like an animal ready to sink its teeth into the furry flesh of the prey. The mysterious hero held his own, charging forward.

The two opponents clashed, blade and claws making a hard clang that echoed through the forest, blowing away the sands into the stream, like a sand storm.

The mysterious heroic dark-haired man was shocked by this strange phenomenon, but he stayed focused—not planning on taking his gaze away from the opponent who loomed right before him, a deadly grin spread from ear to ear that revealed her razor sharp fangs.

With a terrible force, the crazed Sonia pushed the man backwards, causing him to lose his footing—stealing the perfect chance to attack, Sonia raised her clawed hand, poised to strike at the hero and she had succeeded slightly.

The hero was only able to block the attack partially, but her claws slid through his blade, slashing at his knuckles. The man winced—the searing pain left his fingers burning as he lost his knuckle whitening grip on the hilt of his weapon.

The hero's guard was dropped and at that very moment of vulnerability, Sonia moved with a terrible precision that even if the hero had begged for his ancestors to grant him the strength he needed—they wouldn't answer his plea for help. Sonia swunged her clawed hands at him, creating multiple slashes across various parts of his body,

"Die!" she finally spoke, in a monstrous tone.

Sonia grinned wildly as she saw the hero succumbing to his wounds, his eyes closing slowly as he was about to draw his last breath. She grabbed him by the throat, her body increasing in size and strength as she was far taller than the man, this new strength granted her the strength to raise him up in the air.

The towering monstrosity that was Sonia chuckled as the hero struggled, drawing him closer, her eyes burning with a purple color as she roared—a hot wind emerging from her breath. The hero's eyes met her gaze and he began to feel a stiffening sensation throughout his entire body and it had started from his legs.

Sonia hurled him to the ground, leaving him to die but the hero had thought he was spared only to find that the stiffening sensation he felt had slightly restricted his movement. Looking down at his legs, the place the sensation began, he was shocked to find his legs being frozen into solid rock and it seemed to be spreading through his entire body.

'What sorcery is this?' he thought. Could this have been the same sorcery that had happened during the phenomenon known as 'Crimson Fall?'

The hero struggled, rising from the ground as Sonia started with delight, the color of her eyes changing from its violet state to that of the burning orange. Now on his knees, the hero could not move any longer and he was now frozen solid.

Sonia smiled brightly, making her way towards the man—her intentions unknown but there could be a sincerity that the intentions she had were of evil. As she walked, she slowly began to feel a strange energy, so heavy it brought her to her knees, she began to grunt painfully, her bones cracking beneath her skin, bile pouring from her mount.

"What... is... happening to me?" she stuttered. As she questioned, the pain increased and it seemed like the extent of such a transformation had weighed on her shoulders and was beginning to destroy her from the inside.

While Sonia struggled, the stone prison that she had trapped the hero inside had slowly cracked and he began to move from within. His frozen fists tightened, showing the rage he held.

Sonia looked up in shock, "Impossible!" she muttered, the pain still growing in her body and she was forced to the ground. From the beginning this evil creature had thought only Sonia was the one to escape such a fate of being trapped in its stone prison which was why it had possessed Sonia with its tendril, infecting her with its consciousness.

But seeing such a scene gave it a sense of dread.

With a final push, the hero pushed and he was finally freed from the prison this infected Sonia had trapped him in. Seeing the weak and vulnerable creature before his feet, the hero wasted no time to wonder how he had escaped such a fate.

Slowly making his way to his blade as Sonia tried to stop him, he picked it up and walked back to her, making sure his towering figure was evident. Taking off the cloak to reveal his tribal wear, the slit furry barbarian attire.

Using his feet, he pushed Sonia making sure her gaze faced the sky—this gesture seemed to have placed pressure on her bones, causing her great pain. The hero's gaze darted towards a glowing orb that emerged from her abdomen, it seemed that all he needed to do was strike at that area.

Raising his blade to strike, he was immediately stopped by the sounds of whimpering coming from the woman. The heroic man's gaze darted to the expression on Sonia's face and he was overwhelmed by what he saw.

The same bright blue eyes that drew his attention were seen on their first encounter, the sclera partially red from the tears flowing down her eyelids. "Please, kill me," Sonia begged the hero.

The hero couldn't help but feel pity for the woman, she was indeed just an innocent character—but her wish had to be fulfilled, with a rage so overwhelming, the hero drove the blade into Sonia's stomach. Drawing the blade out as Sonia whimpered, he struck again and so he repeatedly did it, striking till her entrails were exposed.

Digging his hand into her guts, he brought out what looked like the embryo of an average dinosaur glowing with an orange bioluminescent light. Sonia had been impregnated by this creature and this seemed to fill the hero with so much rage he squeezed the little creature as it exploded.

Sonia bled out as she succumbed to the wounds that had been too fatal for her to bear. Slipping away into a slumber which she knew she wouldn't wake up from, she was happy.

Happy that she could finally rest and not face the world without her family.

Sonia's soul faded to black, awaiting the single light that could emerge at the end of the cave. But as she waited, it never came, the light only appearing in the form of a thatched ceiling.

Sonia jolted awake from a skin mat, taking in the breath of life another time as the memory of her transformation into something created from that dinosaur, a mere shadow.

She found herself in the interior of a dimly lit hut, the area around her cold and dry with the icy wind blowing in—with a furry sheet guarding her from the biting phenomenon that threatened to freeze her to death.

But the cold didn't bother her at this moment, what was truly her concern was the fact that she was still alive after experiencing such a gruesome death at the hands of someone who was her supposed savior.

"I am not dead?"

The question escaped her tongue, staring down at her cold and shaky hands. Curiously raising the fur cover from her body, she had hope whatever she experienced was a mere dream and she was in the land which her ancestors lived—but with her eyes meeting a blood-stained white cloth tied rom her abdomen to her lower back, she was assured that this wasn't the land in which her ancestors resided.

Trying her best to divert her attention from the bloodied bandages tied to keep her entrails stable, Sonia glanced around—giving her best in order to understand her surroundings and try to take control of the situation, she had witnessed how spacious the room was, the door looking very small as it was meters away from the bed she laid, the ground, bare with no covering only dirt, beside her was a wooden table and on top the wooden table was a glass holding liquid and floating inside the liquid piqued her interest.

An orange glowing creature, small enough to cover only the palm of a child, possibly the embryo of what was a dinosaur. Sonia took a closer look, squinting her eyes, then it hit her.

This was the creature that the hero pulled out of her stomach. Shocked and overwhelmed, she decided to take a closer look at the creaure—slowly emerging from her bed as she placed her hand on her abdomen in order to suppress the pain but surprisingly she felt nothing.

Taking a closer look at the embryo, she placed her finger on the transparent object that held its liquid—the glass which was an alien thing for her.

How can an object hold something and still be able to be seen through, Sonia tapped the object and the embryo reacted to it—shifting its tiny clawed hands that made Sonia quite paranoid but her composure remained.

'Interesting' she thought, the expression on her face defeating the whole idea that this creature had been growing inside of her stomach.

Lost in suspense of where she had ended up, the door of the very spacious home creaked open and before Sonia had the time to react, the hero had stepped in, a burst of sunlight escaping from the spaces that his body left behind. Sonia and the hero locked eyes, prompting him to stop—his initial plan being to walk inside as he thought Sonia was still asleep.

"You awoke, how surprising," he said, a look of concern, shock and joy in his tone—his eyes widened, but then his gaze traced, prompting him to put one hand over his face.

Sonia took notice of this gesture and did the same as well, looking down to find herself nude—the only cover being the white cloth for her wound. A rush of adrenaline and shame rushed through her bloodstream and she immediately found a way to seal it, grabbing the fur covers from the bed and using it to cover herself.
