Chapter 3 - My baseball bat

My baseball bat, the best ever thing to exist (Aside from Leo of course). Been with me through thick and thin. The first ever gift I got that I actually liked.

I still remember the day I got it. It was a sunny July 7th, I was fed up with all the birthday gifts I was given, they were all temporary things that only lasted for a few days. So I didn't really have any good expectations for my 11th birthday either. As I was unwrapping my gift, I saw it, my one and only baseball bat. It smelled so fresh like no one ever even touched it. And it was as smooth as butter.

I wanted to take it with me everywhere but my family advised me not to, they said something about me swinging it every time i got mad— Not true, well mostly not true.

But that's not the point. The point now is what that stupid robot has done! Wait, lemme go back to the dining table scene.

The robot, twiddling its fingers as it says, "I… broke your baseball bat…" Silence fills the air—before I break it of course. "You what?!" My blood started to boil as I dramatically stood up from my chair. "I broke your bat." It repeats, as if it's trying to mess with me. Mom steps in and explains to the robot "He didn't ask you to repeat yourself. He's telling you to apologise." "I'm bringing my bat to end this stupid machine, oh wait, It broke it!" I say frustratedly.

"That's it, I can't live with this destroyer of a robot that can't even apologize! I'm sleeping in the backyard until that metal junk is taken away! And there's nothing you can say to stop me!" I aggressively scream out, waiting for a reply. "Sure, go" Amelia says, I knew she wouldn't side with me. But I'm sure Leo will! "Jack wait-" Hahahahahahaha this is what I was waiting for, after Leo tries to negotiate with me, I'll sit back down, and prove to that robot it has no place in here. "You have food on the table to finish eating, after that you can go." Leo says. He betrayed me?! How could he? Now I'm actually leaving! I get up and storm off, into the backyard (After eating and thanking mother for the delicious food of course).

*Sigh*, and here I am now, lying on the grass while shooing the flies away and hoping no ant will crawl on me. I just can't believe that stupid robot went into my room when I put a sign in bold red caps not to. It seems it not only lost it's brain but eyes too. Wait- I did leave it in my room right?! *Gasp* I remember now! I left it on the couch! Oh no no no no no! That means it was partly my fault. But I can't just apologize to it after all I said. Agh that stupid big mouth of mine!

The robot approaches me. "I sincerely apologise for breaking your prized possession called a 'Baseball bat'. I admit I possibly was not in my right mind. I wish I could replace it but that is out of my power. So i decided to fix it instead" And hands over a taped up bat.

Ah no no no, It actually apologised, now I feel even more guilty. But I can't just apologise to it too— my pride won't let me! "Just apologise, Jack" My inner Leo (or as some call it, angel) says. "No, it technically isn't your fault, so don't!" My inner Amelia says (or call her an inner devil, it'll still mean the same thing). FINE, I'll apologise.

"I-I'm-I-I hate you!" I mistakenly blurted out. Aaaaaaghhhh
