Chapter 3 - Sort & Categorize

The young man beside them sighed heavily, turning to lean on the tree trunk of a large tree that overshadowed them.

"We haven't had a Keeper of the Garden since its original owner went on break." Dreswin sighed again, the thought of that one princess lingering like a bad taste on his tongue, making his mouth dry & uncomfortable.

"You, m-me…. What happened?" Cassian swayed in place & stumbled, but Dreswin caught them before they fell.

"It appears they are not used to their new form yet…" Dreswin muttered.

"So we have a new Keeper with us?" A new figure emerged from the darkness briefly covered in black red shadows, their cape of crimson hue dissipating into nothing. Once fully in the light of the golden tree, the figure's visage took on that of a young man, his golden hair swaying in the light wind & green eyes squinting at Cassian's unconscious body.

"That would unfortunately be correct, Rubens." Dreswin said, adjusting Cassian's body so that they would be more comfortable in his arms. Repositioning their body, he sat down so that their head could rest on his outstretched legs.

"Have you been in contact with Sophia lightly?" Dreswin asked.

"Yes, she's doing well if you're concerned," Michael stated.

"So do we know their powers yet?" Weisheng asked.

"No, not at all, they seem to be still processing their… awakening." Highmelia said, sighing heavily.

"The Garden's progenitor is on break nowadays due to an absence of souls."

"It's not that surprising, most people are looking to break samsara & there has been more attention in the west on this topic." said Jingyi Weisheng, appearing in a dust of dark clouds.

"So does that mean the Garden's going obsolete?" Mao Ying asked; appearing next to Jingyi in a flash of silver speckled particles.

"Probably? At least there's less work to do & most people are seeking out how to better their life. The Garden is not going to go extinct just because people seek to break samsara," He said, staring at the unconscious body of the teen in front of them, then back at the large golden tree whose presence lightened the dark, star speckled sky which enshrouded the Garden from prying eyes.
