Chapter 7 - Symbol of Mammon (5)

Confused by the sound of nothing in his mind Drakar slowly raised his head to see 9 people sat around a semi circle table which surrounded him; Drakar soon realized that some where in his public humiliation he passed out. Three circles of runes surrounded Drakar to restrain him along with Madam Hestia's chains and her crushing technique which suppressed his circulation of mana. He also realized that one of Madam Hestia's earrings hung from his ear which is probably why he couldn't regenerate. Drakar was in a room he'd never seen before, but he could only assume it was somewhere in Madam Hestia's manor since he could feel here mana all around him. Mere seconds after Drakar awoke Madam Hestia felt his presence and shut up the rest of the council.

"Now I knew you'd be upset, I just didn't think you'd have the balls to do something like this."

Drakar tried to raise his head, but was kept kneeling from the chains which bound him. After Madam Hestia realized this she snapped her fingers causing the chains to dissipate only leaving behind golden flakes. After Drakar slightly raised his head only enough to glare Madam Hestia in the eyes he muttered.

"I'm innocent... you could've just asked me."

"Sweetie, we both know you would've ran on the spot."

"I guess we'll never know, why dont you just check my memories we both know you can."

A light pink skinned man dressed in purple ceremonial robes with white hair, eyes, and wings, the 6th head of the family Aster, got out of his chair situated to the left of Madam Hestia and walked around the table and up in front of Drakar. He slowly knelt down to a squatting position. Aster stuck up his pointer and middle finger which dimly lit up in a blue entrancing light. He then poked both of Drakar's eyes which in turn started glowing blue along with his own. A small blue hologram rose right above the two men which played out the entirety of yesterday through Drakar's eyes.

"Sooooo, you gonna release me now or later I mean we just saw that I did nothing yesterday."

"Fimblegrass makes you forget a specific event if consumed you're not free yet."

"Then get Jester to see if I'm lying, here I'll start for you. I have no idea who killed Kenco. I did not kill Kenco. I have never fully planned out killing Kenco. I have jokingly thought and talked about killing him, but never intended to really kill Kenco. No I did not pay someone to kill him. I had no part in Kenco's death."

A olive skinned man dressed in bright multi colored clothes with dark brown hair and pink eyes, the 7th head of the family Jester, shrugged and stared at Madam Hestia before he said.

"The kids clean, if he did it, it must've been thoroughly thought out. He can't of possibly come up with this many contingencies in a couple hours while drunk out of his mind"

Jolt, a pale man dressed with a dark blue overcoat and a black dress shirt with white hair and blue eyes, the fourth head looked over to Jester and replied.

"Why wouldn't he have planned this out before our selection."

The first head Dominique, practically the mirror of her mother Madam Hestia, sighed and said.

"You really underestimate how cocky this bastard truly is. There isn't a universe where he thought he'd lose."

*It seems we're found innocent, and the council of nine are all here. Seems like a perfect time to select the next representative for the Mammon household.*

Drakar hung his head and quietly muttered to himself.

"Took you long enough, I thought I'd gone crazy with no one talking to me."

Madam Hestia finally broke her silence addressed Drakar.

"What are you muttering."

"Do you know how much it hurts to have 4 of your limbs ripped off. Not only that but to be mocked by being forced to lay in a pool of your own blood. I just thought to myself how nice it'd be to force this onto you."

"Tsk"

Madam Hestia snapped her fingers and flakes of gold rained where the runes once laid along with it the chains and the crushing pressure on Drakar disappeared as well. The earring on his left ear flew off him onto Madam Hestia.

Struggling to stand without his arms, strings of blood flew around him to prop Drakar up like a straw puppet. Blood rained from the ceiling onto him which started to flow into his dismembered body parts.

"You know I already feel so much better."

With a smirk and a determined look on his face Drakar stared into the golden matriarch's eyes.

"Everyone is here and it seems I've been proven innocent so we might as well address the elephant in the room."
