Kaiser entered the class as quietly and sat at his usual seat. Unlike before, where he would receive a quirky scold or so, he was astonishly...
"Good morning, Kaiser"
... greeted calmly.
'Seems it worked'
"Morning, Hazel. Are you okay?" He asked with an innocently blank face.
"I wish" Hazel snorted, her usual snappish attitude quietly returning.
"I wonder"
He muttered as he faced forward.
"What are you really?" With full seriousness in her eyes, Hazel asked.
Alas...
"I wonder"
She received the same perfunctory reply. Seeing that he wouldn't answer, she quickly dismissed his presence.
Soon, the homeroom teacher entered with her signature poker face but there was something that caught Kaiser's attention as he studied her. Her usually calm and collected gaze seemed aflame with determination.
'what could she possibly be in desperate need of?'
"Morning class, without further ado, let's begin the lesson..."
...
The class ended as usual when a usually quiet boy sitting in front of Hazel turned to look at her.
"You're awfully quiet"
"Huh?"
Stunned, She looked up at him with an incredulous expression.
"No, it must be your imagination" She retorted.
"Whatever makes you feel comfortable" The boy remarked dryly.
Realizing that someone else was looking at them, the boy made a poor effort to smile.
"Nice to meet you, the name's Kuramoto Daisuke"
Tilting his head, Kaiser regarded the boy silently before nodding.
"Kaiser Solace"
Their attention was drawn to Liam who stood up and stood before the class.
With his leader aura oozing out, the whole class quietened, realizing he had serious information to share.
"Sorry for taking your time, but I think there's a pressing issue concerning our class. The last time a few upperclassmen came in here, I believe everyone could feel their palpable disdain for us. And due to this unjust sentiment, I and a few others did a research and unfortunately realized the reason for the sentiment. The school has a General ranking which consists of mostly Class-A and Class-B while the lower rankings contain mostly of Class-C and Class-D."
"So, what are you trying to say?"
Joshua questioned with a frown.
A few others had looks of confusion on their faces while most seemed to have realized his words.
"What I mean is that since the school ranks it's students, it would obviously treat the top ones better" Liam explained.
"But every class receives 100,000 points per month and I don't see restrictions on any facility, so I guess it doesn't matter?"
Alisa cut in with a confused expression.
"Sharp observation Alisa but that's only for the first month. We don't know how being in Class-D would affect us. So I'll advise us to be ready for any unpleasant surprise by the end of the month."
"Huh? Do you mean that we wouldn't get up to 100,000 points next months?" Joshua asked with a look of horror.
"That's bullshit with no concrete evidence!" A certain Silver hair shouted with a face full of scorn.
"I know but it wouldn't hurt to be cautious" Liam replied calmly.
"Nope, I'm not buying it"
"That's ridiculous"
"The school never said that"
More people began refuting his speculation until a very commanding voice spoke.
"Quiet"
Hazel calmly walked towards the podium with a cold look then stood beside Liam.
"His speculations might save your asses" She said.
'Ouch, quite crude isn't that?' Kai thought.
"H-huh?" Joshua stuttered, shocked.
"If you go ahead and ignore his words, how many of you are willing to take blame for the consequences? Hmm?"
She asked with narrowed eyes.
The others who were against Liam shrunk under her gaze and became quiet.
Even Liam was quite surprised at her words since they seemed like the last thing she would do.
"Thanks" He said quietly.
Hazel only glanced at him briefly before looking back at the class.
"So I'll advise you to listen attentively and adhere to what he has to say"
With that, she picked up her bag and left the class but not before glancing at Kaiser.
'How did he know Liam was gonna talk?'
...
As she walked back to her dorm, her face marred with tears and snot, a chilly wind blew past her causing her to stop.
"Tomorrow, Liam would speak up to the class about what I told you. Though he has solidified his position in the class, some would still voice their disagreement. I want you to quench that opposition then leave the class quietly" Kaiser's voice spoke from her back as she quivered in fear, her head automatically lowering.
After some time, she looked back and realized that no one was there.
'Sigh, what a mess'
...
After she left the class, the whole place was silent until Joshua shouted.
"Damn! That was hot!"
"You saw t-that right?"
"She's so cooooool"
The others joined the sentiment and started praising her until Liam cleared his throat.
"So, as we were saying, I would implore us to..."
