Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

Lois's POV

I walked into the bedroom, grinning from ear to ear. I noticed Aaron was already fast asleep. I thought about the kiss. It was a good one, but nothing compared to the one I had with Aaron. The kiss with Aaron was passionate and got me feeling things I hadn't felt before.

I felt neutral while kissing Zach, but special. I always dreamt of having a date with a guy and ending the day with a kiss. Here I was after experiencing it. Instead of savouring in the moment, I was still thinking of Aaron.

I looked over at his back as he slept and sighed. I felt a little bit disgusted staring at the bed, memories of him, and that lady flashed before my eyes again, I quickly shook it off and stood up.

I proceeded to take a quick shower before going to bed. After I was done, I changed into my nightwear and then collapsed on the bed.

I woke up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Sleeping next to Aaron really did something to me. I noticed he wasn't in the bed again and figured he had already left for work or was somewhere around the house.

Today was Friday, which meant the last day of work, I was relieved. Took a quick shower and immediately dashed out of the house. I had to figure out a way to patch the loss we experienced yesterday.

I stopped at my cafe spot to get coffee, secretly hoping I would see Aaron there again, but I didn't and I felt a little bit hurt, but shrugged the feeling off. He was probably at work or was with that girl again.

I entered my car and drove straight to work. I noticed my workers seemed a little bit off. They were more tensed than they would be on a normal day. Something was going on. I looked around suspiciously to see if I would catch anything, but I didn't. I just gave up and headed straight for my office.

When I got to my office, I noticed my assistant was not in her seat, which implies my parents were here. That explained why the workers seemed more tensed. Although they were scared of me, they were more scared of my parents, especially my mum. I rolled my eyes and entered my office.

I saw them already seated on the visitors' sofa waiting for me. My dad looked a little bit pleased to see me, but my mum just sat there numb.

'How may I help you?' I said without hesitation. Them coming to my office was always because they had something important to say, they never come here unannounced because they missed me or anything.

'Heard you lost the deal with Jacob construction, I am so disappointed' my mum said without hesitation too. I knew she would point that out one way or the other. She was disappointed? That guy wanted to sleep with me. She never cared about the situation surrounding the loss. All she cares about is me not getting the contract.

I gulped down hard to prevent myself from saying anything that would make an argument break out. I was having a really good day today, and she just had to ruin the mood for me. Typical mother.

'That is in the past now. Why are you here?' I asked, maintaining my ground.

'We are here to talk about your wedding announcement party' my dad blurted out to cool down the tension in the room. Oh, that was still happening. That sounds about right.

'I heard it was next Saturday' I said, and my dad nodded.

'We will be having dinner tonight with the Carsons to discuss more, please do not miss it like the last one' my dad said.

'If you miss it, forget about your house, I would start from there before demoting you in this company' my mum said nonchalantly, and I rolled my eyes.

'We have invited some people on our side, so have the Carsons and also the media to reveal your face' my dad said ' You can invite anybody you want' my dad added and I rolled my eyes, as if I have anyone to invite except my assistant.

'After the party, you and Aaron would go on your honeymoon' my mum said, continuing from where he stopped.

'Excuse me? Honeymoon?' I said with my voice raising.

'Yes it would last for a week' my dad added. A week? I could not imagine spending a week alone with Aaron. As if living with him and sleeping with him on the same bed was not enough, they actually needed to add a honeymoon with him.

'What about work?' I said. The thought of leaving work for a week at this critical moment angered me. I had a lot of holes to fill up, and I can't leave now.

'We will have that covered. We know this is a critical moment, but baby, you need your honeymoon. You need to get that once in a lifetime experience' my dad said.

I could not imagine leaving the company to them. They started this company, yes, but I took the company to where it was today and could not imagine them running it. I just couldn't but I had no other choice but to just agree with them.

'Fine, but just a week' I said, and they stood up, preparing to leave.

'That will be all then' my dad said before walking and leaving my mum behind. She looked at me neutrally, as always. I couldn't decipher what she was thinking.

'I heard you are about to strike a deal with Brown tech. You have to get it' she said before dashing out. I rolled my eyes and sighed.

Never weldone, and keep up the good work. She was always expecting more and more from me, and it was frustrating and suffocating.

My assistant came later on. We concluded all we were doing and called it a day.

I had dinner tonight and had nothing to wear. All the dinners I always went to were work dinners, so I always dressed corporately.

So I drove to a boutique to get something. When I got there, I came down and stood in front of the boutique.

Let's go get a dress to impress my in-laws.
