In his sleep Angel floated in an empty void.
A pair of eyes floating in the void stared at him with displeasure.
" You are the master of souls bending them to your will, absorb all essence for it's your path."
Angel not able to move watched as a hand materialized next to the eyes in the air as it moved towards him.
As he struggled to move the hand reached him and touched Angel's forehead.
"Unlock your potential and begin your reign."
Angel felt as if something was being brought out him but it started to become painful all of the sudden.
"Argghhhhhh"
He woke up from his dream panting heavily.
A bunch of words popped in his head
'Another ability huh I'll look at it later.'
There was black goo pouring out from his pores covering him and the bed.
"Ewww what is this , it freaking reeks." Angel touched the goo feeling the sticky substance.
The bathroom facilities came with a shower, so he decided to clean himself.
He had a problem though the only clothes that he had were now stained with the black goo.
He had been able to wash them of blood before he left the forest in a pond he had found but now trying to wash off the black substance it seem pretty much futile.
The only option was to wear the clothes that reeked of sewage. Walking out of his room he headed back up to the lounge.
There was a couple people there who instantly looked at him when he walked in.
The smell from his clothes could be smelled all around the room, but when everyone saw the black goo on him there was an understanding look in their eyes as they went back to their own business.
'Do they know something I don't' Angel thought while taking a sit at the corner he was previously in.
Looking at the screen he saw that it was still daylight, he didn't know how long he had slept but he was surprised that they still weren't near aurora city.
The airship made multiple stops at what he thought were cities but when they finally reached Aurora City he found out the real meaning of what a city was in this world.
The airship flew into Aurora City landing in a airfield about 50 kilometers in.
Watching the view from up high, Aurora City had no end in sight with an architectural foundation resembling modern day buildings with a more simplistic outlook.
He heard an announcement as soon as they landed " All passengers we have reached Aurora City please take your belongings and exit The Navis."
Angel stayed in his seat as was instructed by Zephyr until a minute later he sense him walk into the lounge.
"You ready Angel let's get you" he suddenly stopped talking when he saw Angel's appearance.
"You went through a soul cleanse I see." He said shocked.
"What's a soul cleanse?" Angel asked confused about what he was talking about
"Surprised you don't know its one of the first things taught to awaken." Zephyr responded wondering who this clueless boy was that his friend thrusted upon him.
"Haha I'm kind of new to all this, Faelix didn't tell you but I'm from a distant place and I don't have much knowledge about awaken." Angel brushed off his suspicions with an innocent explanation.
"That explains a lot, anyways a soul cleanse is when an awaken has broken through to a higher level their animus purifies their bodies of all impurities."
"So does that mean I'm broke to through the Initiate stage and this nasty black goo are the impurities that came out of my body from breaking through."
"Yes and yes there are substances in everyday things that we consume that are bodies can not process by themselves which leads to illness and diseases , but as you level up your animus it will change your body to adapt to your power while cleansing you of these impure substances."
"But I thought animus was the power of our soul why does it affect our bodies when we breakthrough?" Was confused about the whole ordeal
"That's simple because of balance."
"Balance?"
"Yes the soul and the animus are pretty much one in the same and as your animus grows stronger so does your soul but what do you think would happen to the body if it stayed the same while this overwhelming force inside you kept on growing."
"It'll break apart." Angel answered the question instantly
"That's correct you are quite smart boy haha" Zephyr laughed while ruffling his hair.
Chuckling along awkwardly with him Angel fixed his messed up hair.
Zephyr continued "To make up for this problem the animus uses a good amount of energy to cleanse the body and strengthen it in the process of a breakthrough , but this usually requires awaken to find treasures filled with energy to help them breakthrough."
"Why is that?"
"See if you don't have enough energy to keep your animus from running out it could lead to a serious injury or it might affect your potential and even cause death." Zephyr answered.
"Hmm I did find a couple of fruits in the jungle and when I ate them I felt stronger and more energetic." Angel started to speculate about how he was able to breakthrough.
"Those were probably a type of spirit fruit which would explain your easy breakthrough, now come let me show you around Aurora City we need to get you some new clothes and I know just the spot." Zephyr wave for him to follow along
They both exited the airship, heading out into the city.
