Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Embers of the morning (continued)

The group is welcomed into the first level of the ruin which is a giant chamber, the floor is made of pure Aether. Everyone is suddenly separated into several different domains. Kai opens his eyes and begins looking around, he realises that he's in a forest and this forest is very familiar to him. He glances around again and sees ... his father fighting Zerath. Kai: "what on earth?!" His father is fighting hard but losing. Kai is absolutely shocked at the fact that he's back here. Kai: "Father!!!!" Kai's dad tells him to run before his chest gets split open. Kai is as shocked and traumatised as the first time he witnessed this. Rhea has an illusion of her friends all being bitter and hateful towards her and leaving her. Lysander has an illusion of himself betraying the group for a shard. Fumiko is forced to kill her former love. They all reunite at the Aether platform, each of them is shocked at the illusions they've just witnessed. Kai: "Father." Kai is saddened as he had to relive his father's death. Fumiko is equally saddened as she had to relive the time she was put against her lover. Lysander: "maybe, it was a mistake coming in here... What on earth was that sick crap." Kai: " the exit it's shut." Lysander: "I'm sorry everyone for pressuring you guys to come in here." The group awaits the next most like horror to ensue.
