A man suddenly woke up the two women and put his hand on Rose's shoulder.
"Rose, that's enough. You're causing a scene. It's already bad enough that you beat up that man last week. At this rate, we won't be getting any more contracts this month,"
He was a handsome man with a head of blonde hair and blue eyes. He had a permanently bored look on his face, like he was perpetually tired of life and everything in it, but there was also a sense of responsibility around him that allowed people to trust his judgment.
His name was George, and he was one of the Vice Captains of the Hornet Guild.
He didn't like the fact that Rose had such a short fuse, and he knew that because of what she was doing, their rating with the public was going to drop. Just last week, another Guild Master tried poaching some of the members of their guild and she ended up beating him up when she got too angry.
This negatively affected their public rating and made it drop! Public rating was also important in deciding which guild got a contract for a Gate mission, and if a guild's rating went too low, then the government would start giving the contracts to other guilds rather than their own.
Rose turned to give George a hard look, and George didn't back down from her stare because he knew he wasn't wrong. He tilted his head towards all the reporters who were still taking pictures and narrowed his eyes at her, and Rose clicked her tongue.
"I wouldn't have caused a scene if this bitch didn't start with me. She's a fucking nuisance."
Rose glared up at Gina again, and Gina bared her teeth in return!
George was about to speak up a second time, but he was interrupted by a gust of wind that blew across the area!
Woosh!
The reporters in the back all screamed in fright as they felt the wind wash over them, but George and the other superhumans just raised their hands up to their faces to block the wind.
George's eyes widened in shock, and all the other superhumans there also felt their eyes widen when they recognized what the wind was!
Whenever a Gate appeared, it would have a suction property, pulling anything close by toward it and forcing them into the Gate, but the opposite was the case when a Gate was opening! The Gate's suction would reverse and it would begin pushing anything around it away!
And since the Gate was currently pushing people away, that could only mean one of two things! The first possibility was that the Gate had been cleared by someone, and the second was that the Gate was about to undergo a Burst!
The Superhumans all realized that it was too soon for a Gate Burst so the Gate had to have been cleared, but the regular humans didn't realize this quickly enough and someone shouted from the back!
"The Gate is Bursting!?"
"We have to get out of here! Go! Go!"
"Wait, I need to get my camera! It's still back there!"
"Forget it!"
"It's worth a hundred thousand dollars."
"Shit, go get it! Go get it now!"
"Move out of the way! Move!"
"Move back! The monsters are coming!"
The policemen quickly started pushing people back to try and make them leave, and many civilians and reporters began to run! If the Gate was undergoing a Burst, then they had to get out of there immediately!
But it turned out that their fears were unwarranted. Many people watched in shock as something emerged from within the Gate.
It was a single man, and the relief that filled all of them at that moment was only eclipsed by the shock they felt when they didn't see anyone else coming through the Gate!
When they saw the man coming, they thought a guild had gone into the Gate and cleared it illegally, but the fact that no one else was coming out with the man could only mean one thing! The man cleared it alone!
"Who is that!? Get your camera! Get your fucking camera rolling!"
"Hey, isn't that the man from the picture!? The missing one!"
"It's Jason! Jason Marc has come out of the Red Gate alone! I believe he might've cleared the Gate on his own!"
"If he cleared the Gate on his own, that would make him the first Superhuman to solo clear a Gate in more than five years!"
The reporters slowly got their wind back after they realized who Jason was, and they began shouting their reports into their cameras again. The police and military men were on guard as they watched the Gate. They still thought that monsters would come out, so they couldn't let their guard down.
But the Superhumans in the area all knew that there were no monsters. They couldn't feel any extra mana coming out from the Gate, and now that Jason had come out, the Gate was starting to close down, which meant there was no one coming after him!
"Jason?"
Gina's voice came out in a strained tone filled with shock. She had no idea what was going on and she didn't know whether to feel completely stunned that Jason was coming out of the Gate or happy that he was alive!
Jason looked around calmly with his hands in his pockets. He knew that there would be a lot of people here, but he didn't think there would be this many. Was this how Superhumans always felt when they came out of the Gate? It's annoying having so many people take your picture like you're some sort of circus animal.
Jason already sent his Legion back into the Alternate Dimension, but the aura of power that surrounded him and marked him as a Superhuman was plain for everyone to see!
"Excuse me, Mr. Jason Marc. You have to come with us."
A young woman with a pretty face and wearing a military uniform stepped up from the side once Jason was far enough from the Gate. She had the badge of a lieutenant, and her face was set in a hard look that marred her beauty in a rough way.
The way she spoke showed that she hadn't been asking him to come with her. She was ordering him.
Jason was about to speak to the woman, but another sight suddenly drew his attention, and he turned to see Gina being held up by another woman. His brow furrowed in shock at the sight, and at the next moment, Jason felt anger rise from somewhere deep in his heart! He turned away from the officer and started to walk toward Rose and Gina.
"Excuse me! Excuse me, Mr. Jason!"
The soldier was not happy about being ignored, and she quickly tried to block Jason's path so he wouldn't pass her, but Jason easily pushed her to the side without even trying and she almost fell to the ground in shock with wide eyes! He was so strong!
Jason ignored her shocked look and kept walking. He didn't care what she wanted from him; he would deal with that later.
Jason first looked up at Gina to make sure that she was okay. Gina had a stunned look in her eyes, but she didn't look like she was hurt so Jason then turned and looked down at Rose.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?"
Jason's voice came out in a deep rumble that made everything in the area quiet down. There was a look in Jason's eyes, like a predator looking down at his prey, and his tall stature and imposing build only made him look more dangerous!
Madam Rose was stunned. Her brow was furrowed as she looked from Jason back toward the closing Gate behind him, and then back again. She opened her mouth to say something, and then she closed it and her frown deepened!
Did this man clear a Red Gate on his own?
Madam Rose knew that clearing a Red Gate alone wasn't an impossible feat! If a Superhuman was powerful enough, then they would be able to do it!
But in order to do that, you would need to be at least an A Rank Superhuman! The Boss in the Red Gate required a B rank to defeat it, so if you wanted to handle both the Boss as well as all its underlings, then you would need to be an A rank!
Does that mean this man was an A Rank?
'How in the world did he become an A Rank? Didn't they say he was just a regular human? Don't tell me… did he awaken inside the Gate? Awakening as an A Rank is almost impossible! What sort of potential will this man have!?'
Rose forced her frown to relax as these thoughts crossed her mind! If her thoughts were correct, that meant that Jason was most likely going to become one of the most powerful Superhumans in the world over the next few years! She couldn't let their relationship sour right off the bat!
