Chapter 6
Leonidas couldn't help but smile, when he saw the notification pop right before his eyes.
It really didn't give him much information about how he could actually link with her, was it through touch? Or was it through something else? But he knew and still had that drive and determination to link with her.
He knew it wasn't going to be easy and he had to think of how to actually get close to her, maybe by distance it would allow him to link with her.
One thing was for sure, he couldn't help but shake this unwavering and unbearable feeling that he had to have her blood on him, and find a way to actually put it inside his body.
Klaudine was looking at him, as if she could read his mind or something; but that wasn't it. She was just also curious and wondering about this young boy.
Who doesn't seem to be so different from her, yes; she had other siblings but it's not like they have met or what, the reason behind her isolation was because her parents knew that if she were to make friends or even meet them.
Since she was still a young girl, she was definitely going to lose all focus and become emotionally connected with any of them.
And that wasn't the clan's plans for her, they had plans set for her.
After all she was the heiress of the clan, which meant they had to groom her into a manner that would be suited for an heiress of the clan.
So, distractions which included meeting with her siblings was clearly forbidden.
One thing that Klaudine didn't want to admit and expose herself but making it obvious was that she was actually hoping that he would agree to a spar; because something in her just wanted to spar with him.
Leonidas didn't need to have any kind of special eyes just to see how desperate his new sister was to spar with him, he stood and watched her careful as she was busy trying to figure out which weapon was going to be suitable for their fight.
From what he could remember from the novel, is that; she was very lonely, she never met and communicated with anyone else from her own family but her father and mother.
And when it came to meeting her siblings, it was simply under bad circumstances; and despite being the youngest of them all, she was their leader.
Never had any kind of emotion towards them, and they got hurt quite too often; not that bothered her, it was war and she just kept fighting.
He understood the pain and loneliness she had, and if him being part of the novel doesn't change the plot that much; he knew deep down that it was going to get worse from here on forth.
In his precious life, he was loved by kids because somehow he managed to play with them and interact with them at their level. Regardless of him being the oldest.
So he knew he had to maintain a good relationship with her.
"Uhh... okay then, let's spar." He said.
Klaudine got a little bit excited, that she even almost exposed herself.
She took a deep breath, turned around and faced him.
"Here, I hope you know how to use these."
She threw a sword and a shield at him.
Leonidas reacted so fast that he caught them without breaking a sweat, it's no secret he didn't have much when it came to body strength, he was very frail and weak.
Judging from his body and he didn't have the sigil, which was very important in the Valak Clan.
To put it in simple terms, it meant that without the family sigil; he was utterly useless and a disgrace because he didn't have the vampire powers of the Valak bloodline, he only had their blood in his system.
Not that really meant anything, because that alone made him feel like a stranger in his own home and hated by his family; not to speak about the second matriach of the family.
Hate was a kind word when it came to her, she loathed him and she'd managed to teach her other children how to hate him the same way.
It was a miracle that Klaudine didn't hate him, but he also understood why... Nobody had told her about him, before today she never even knew about his existence.
Klaudine also picked up her own sword and shield she chose as her weapons for this sparring match.
They really didn't need a reason to step outside or even go to the armory room to spar, her room was already a battle ground.
Before Leonidas came, Klaudine was already training by herself fighting against hardened rock dummies; who when she slashed she shook the whole house.
Not sure, how to even use any of these weapons given to him; Leonidas didn't know how to even make a stance to show that he's ready for battle.
He attempted multiple times, just trying to find the right one. But, he didn't know any formation so he practically looked like an idiot.
On the other hand, the strong and emotionless Klaudine was really having a hard time to maintain her serious composure, whenever she saw him try to make a stance; she'd chuckled a bit, but stop herself.
She knew that if she waited for him to find the right one, they were going to be there for the whole day and that wasn't going to be good for either of them.
"Watch me." She advised as she took her stance.
Leonidas paid attention to every single detail on how she was actually standing, he saw the form of her her feet; how she was standing, the distance between her feet.
The way she was holding the sword and which angle she placed it in, and also the shield; he noticed it wasn't too close to her but not far too.
"Are you ready, brother?" She said as she leaped from where she was.
"Uhh...."
Before he could even complete his sentence, she was already about to attack her.
Clang!
That was the sound of her sword against his shield, which he was lucky enough that he could manage to block.
Klaudine looked quite impressed by his unexpected blockage, because the speed she used when she leaped was something he wasn't supposed to even see.
Seeing that she is pushing her sword against his shield, he was really finding it hard to keep her off.
For a ten year old, and a girl in that matter; she was really strong even for him.
He finally managed to push her off and maintain some distance, between him and her.
Then he smiled, as if he was telling her 'is that all she got?'
Their sparring continued, Klaudine always make sure that she attacked using full speed, before he could even try to attack her.
Cling! Clang!
For a certain period of time, it looked like Klaudine was the one who was striking first; because Leonidas just kept blocking her every time.
Both feeling like their sparring match wasn't going to go anywhere until they both started to get serious, they created distance between them.
Staring each other with burning and intensive glare, they knew that from now going forward; it wasn't going to be fun and games.
Klaudine leaped once again, but now Leonidas was smart enough to actually see her speed and pace.
'Heh, she may be stronger and more at an advantage than me, but she's got one flaw; she'd never had a real opponent before so that's why she keeps using the same tactic over and over again.' he found himself amused.
This time around he wasn't going to be helpless, he was ready to strike first; so he dived out of the way.
Leading her to strike the floor, after she did, she then realised that there was no one there; but her sword deep inside the floors.
'Impressive.' she was amazed.
Leonidas didn't do much of anything after he actually dived of the way, he formed a stance and waited for her actually.
"Is that the best you can do?" He teased her.
"You know you may be able to pick up my speed and moves, but you're still lacking!"
Without any warning, she swung her sword close to his face; more like inches from his eyes.
Because if he didn't dodge, he was definitely going to be hurt.
Leonidas couldn't believe it as his shred of hair fell to the floor.
And that's when he realised, this wasn't a mere match anymore; it means war.
"Nah-uh... B..." Because he could finish off, he stopped himself.
"Oooh... Looks like I got your attention now." Klaudine enjoying this moment.
The both went for each other, both determined to be the one who struck first.
When they met, they swung their swords; Leonidas managed to make Klaudine lose and throw away her sword and he also managed to take one swing on her and scratch her open.
Her blood flew to his face.

After reading the notification, he felt at ease and was now happy.
