Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

Xievian thought of what he discovered. Main points: something is sealed in the mausoleum. That something seemed to have taken interest in him and is now doing a MLM offer inside his mind. The last sister seemed to be on the first floor, but he had no idea how to go down, as there are no stairs.

Aside from all of that, he doesn't know the name of the mausoleum, much less how to stop the haunting or uncover its history. He could feel his time running out.

He thought of the letters and pieced together the information that he thought was important.

"I'm Lily. Among my sisters, I hate Sally the most."

"It wasn't until during our hide and seek that Sally vanished."

"I looked at Lily. I knew she hated it. She hated our youngest sibling."

"Mommy, daddy, sisters, are you sure this was Sally?"

And then, looking back at Lily's scream a while ago, Xievian had a theory that either it was accidental or predetermined, Lily did something to harm Sally. Of course, that's just a theory.

The voices in his head were starting to get really impatient. Xievian cracked his neck. Without his mask, he probably looked very pathetic now.

His ax scraped the floor. Since there was a way down, maybe he should continue his plans? If there's a need for a puzzle to open the first floor, then he's not in the mood to answer it. He's already at his limit.

He staggered as he sat up. He had been slumped on the floor a while ago, and now, his feet could barely support the weight of his body, so he kneeled down.

His ax smashed the ground again and again. He underestimated how hard the floor was. He took out his gun and started shooting.

Bang, bang, bang!

This time, he couldn't help but feel shocked. Wow, did I overestimate it a bit? He fired three bullets, and all three of them managed to penetrate the floor.

He saved up some of his rounds and continued smashing the floor. Probably, this time, the floor was a bit easier to break after the bullets made some holes. He adjusted his position not to accidentally fall down.

Fraudbuster: That's beyond my capability. Calm this number [xxx xxx xxx].

Finally, after a few minutes of digging, he finally managed to make a decent-sized hole.

Just as he was about to see what was inside, a hand suddenly stretched out from the hole and dragged him by the feet.

Xievian felt the hand's strength, and then he was pulled inside the hole.

...

Xievian opened his eyes. What he saw wasn't the mausoleum. It was a beautiful yard filled with vibrancy and life.

He was baffled and confused. He also realized that while his body was still in pain, the persistent voice in his head had vanished. He called out the system, and when it responded, he calmed down a bit.

He looked around and saw that there was a huge mansion behind him. He had a guess as to what was happening, but he did not conclude it yet until he saw two girls walking hand in hand in the yard.

The smaller girl let go of the older one's hand. The little girl looked lovely. She was wearing a red dress, her hair was braided, and there was a flower crown on top of her head. She was undoubtedly a cute child. Chubby cheeks full of baby fat and round lively eyes. She looked like a doll.

The older child beside her had some semblance to her, signifying that they were sisters. The older girl looked a bit ordinary compared to the little girl. The older girl looked delicate and quiet.

Looking at those younglings, Xievian's fatherly heart fluttered a bit. He wouldn't have chosen to become a teacher if he hated children. Although he felt like he probably wouldn't have a child in his life, he did think that children were lovely and should be taken care of.

Children from the orphanage that he sponsored now, and the children that surrounded him growing up, were some of the driving factors why Xievian still saw the world as something worth living.

Maybe because he was an orphan, but he had always had a soft spot for little humans. He wanted to adopt a child, but with all his unresolved issues, maybe it was not the best idea.

Children are fragile. He could not fathom the ideas of those 'parents' who made impulsive decisions that resulted in a child. Children that were sent to the orphanage are children that their parents gave up. Some of them were just plainly abandoned, while some of them were abused.

Children never wished to be here. They never forced you to give birth to them. They arrive in the world as pure and blank as how everything works. They need proper guidance; they need adults in order to survive.

Xievian had met people before who never even took precautions when it came to sex. They basically said that, well, I don't think I'll get pregnant, or her getting pregnant is not my fault, I was just a fuck buddy.

They were playing probability games that involved an innocent life.

Xievian felt that he seemed to be more emotional this time. Probably the relief that he felt after the voice stopped yapping inside his head, or maybe after all this adrenaline rush, he managed to let out those emotions that had bothered him for a long time.

He looked at those young girls giggling. They looked very carefree. He calmed down a bit and observed them. This could be important information.

This time, he focused more on their features. He did not open all the sisters' caskets, but based on their ages, he guessed that these were Sally and Ruby?
