Chapter 23 - Chapter-23 Cheater

Keifer's POV

"Who do you think did that to Jay?" Felix asked me.

"I don't know, but I'm sure it was Freya's doing."

It was obvious—she's the only one who ever clashes with Jay-jay. She's always up to something.

"Are we going to interfere?" Yuri suddenly asked.

I didn't want to, but seeing her earlier, it was clear she was struggling. She's a girl, after all. I also wanted to see what Aries would do.

"Only if necessary..."

He didn't let Jay-jay off when it came to Freya, but he has an issue when we hurt people here? Isn't he being a bit biased?

"What's the plan?" Felix asked me again.

"We wait until she wakes up."

Jay-jay's POV

"How bad is the pain?" the nurse asked me.

"It's really bad... I felt weak right away," I answered.

I didn't know who brought me to the clinic. The nurse immediately tended to me when she saw I was awake. I made up an excuse about what happened. I told her I tripped and hit my stomach on the corner of a table.

"Hold on a second," the nurse said before stepping away.

I slowly touched my stomach. Damn! It felt like my organs could fall out at any moment. It still hurt, and I was so weak. My hands and legs were trembling.

Damn it! Once I feel better, I'm really going after those bastards. They only ganged up on me because I'm a girl. I was right before—D always follows A. Tsk!

The curtain around my bed opened. I thought it was the nurse, but it was just Ci-N and David, followed by the king of snakes.

"Are you okay now?" Ci-N asked.

I forced a smile and nodded.

"Can you tell us what happened now?" David asked.

I didn't want to since I was still pissed about that "You don't belong" thing, but I knew they wouldn't stop pestering me until I told the truth.

I glanced at the nurse I spoke to earlier. I lied to her—if she overheard, I might get caught. Heh.

"Three guys came into the room, and then—"

"Argh! So they raped you?!" Ci-N interrupted, overreacting. I flinched a bit before glaring at him.

"Let me finish, Ci, or I'll finish you!"

He pouted and shut up.

"They said it was a message from Freya... and then they punched me in the stomach."

Keifer crossed his arms and took a deep breath. "Section D... and there's only one person I know who always targets the stomach."

I looked at him. He figured it out already? I guess that's just how they are. They know everyone in this school.

"As long as I remember his face, that's enough."

"What's your plan, Jay?" Ci-N asked, sitting beside me.

"I'll rest first."

"And then?" David followed up.

"I don't know yet."When I'll get back at them.

"Want us to beat them up?" Ci-N offered with a grin.

Always eager for a fight!

"No need… This is my battle, so I'll handle it."

"But Jay—"

"Ci! Don't be stubborn!"

He pouted again. I just felt like I shouldn't drag them into this mess. You don't belong. People like me, the ones who don't belong, have their own fights to face.

"If that's what you want, suit yourself," Keifer said.

He was about to leave when I suddenly remembered something I needed to clarify.

"Keifer!" He stopped and turned to face me again. "...I just want to ask something."

He looked at me, waiting for my question.

"Is it Aries?" One of his eyebrows raised. "...Is Aries the reason why you guys keep messing with me?"

He took a while to answer. We just stared at each other. Even David and Ci-N stayed silent, as if they were also waiting for his response.

"Sort of."

That was all he said before quickly walking out of the clinic.

Looks like he doesn't want to be questioned about that, so he avoided it. Tsk.

David was about to leave too, but I stopped him.

Why?" he asked me.

He used to be the president of Section E. It probably wouldn't be wrong to ask him questions.

"It's just that there's something I don't understand. Freya said that D and E aren't that far apart, meaning they also have records----"

"If you're asking why our Section and theirs aren't just combined, the answer is because they still have hope for them," he interrupted me.

Wow! He guessed exactly what I wanted to know. Am I that obvious?

"How..."

"Because, Jay, the D students are like A students, but they're also like E students," Ci-N explained.

I scratched my head. What? That just confused me more.

"What Ci-N means is that the D students are also skilled in many things. They're smart, talented, good at sports, and similar to the A students. But they have records of fighting and causing trouble. Unlike E students, who have no talents and only know how to fight."

Why does it feel like my body ache just transferred to my head? His explanation was long, but at least it made sense, unlike Ci-N's.

"I get it now, but if Section D students are talented but also fight a lot, why is Aries in A? He gets into fights too."

David and Ci-N looked at each other, as if they didn't want to answer my question.

"Jay..." Ci-N started. "Aries fights dirty. We're not sure how he moved up, but what we do know is that he never let Keifer and Yuri leave Section E."

Fights dirty?

"H-he cheats? Is that it?"

Ci-N just nodded at me. No wonder, even though he openly gets into fights, he's still in A. And on top of that, he acts like a king.

"Oh, right, Jay... The Periodical Exams are coming up. Ma'am Tanda wants to ask if you're really not transferring."

Oh, right. Jeez! He means Ma'am Zaragoza. Ci really is something.

"I'll talk to her myself," I replied, and Ci-N smiled at me.

"Alright, Jay... Get some rest. We'll come back later," David said before walking out of the clinic.

Ci-N followed, but not before waving at me before disappearing from sight. I lay down properly, but I had no intention of sleeping. I was thinking.

Wow! So you actually have a brain! Tsk! Stupid thoughts! Not only are they eating up my neurons, but now they're also interfering. I just couldn't stop thinking about what Freya said in the bathroom.

Ella was Keifer's ex and later became Yuri's girl. That means she could be the girl who caused them to go wild in the cafeteria. And maybe Aries was the guy Yuri and Keifer fought. Tsk! I should've asked Ci-N to confirm it. But then again, I'd probably just be called a gossip.

I also wanted to check on Calix. I heard that Mica got mad at him and told him to forget her and stay away. That must be why he cried.

Haaaaayyyyyyy.....

Maybe I should've just studied at a different school. I haven't even been here that long, but all I've experienced are headaches—plus body aches. The nurse returned and attended to me again. She also gave me some medicine.

I was probably zoning out in the clinic for hours when David and Ci-N came back with my stuff. They said they'd take me home.

I wanted to refuse, but would I even win against these two? Both of them are pushy and talkative. David has a car, so they didn't have a hard time taking me home.

"Don't you guys want to come in?" I asked after getting out of the car.

David shook his head.

"Not anymore, Jay... Looks like you have visitors," Ci-N answered, pointing at the parked cars in front of our house.

Are we expecting guests?

"Next time, Jay," David added.

I just smiled and nodded. I waited for them to leave before finally going inside. I was still struggling a bit to walk because my muscles were shaking.

As soon as I entered the house, it felt like all my pain disappeared. It was like I came back to life and gained strength just from seeing who was in front of me. I might be so strong right now that I could kill someone.

Why are these people here?

Aries' group was here. Freya and Ella were also present, but I couldn't see Mica.

My blood suddenly boiled. Bad trip! And I look like a mess right now. I had to borrow a T-shirt because my blouse got ruined. But I still looked so untidy.

"Jay... What happened to you?" Auntie asked, making Aries' group notice me.

"Hi, Jay!" Kiko greeted, but I only gave him a forced smile.

Sorry! I'm not in the mood to flirt right now. You guys brought a witch along!

I turned to Auntie to answer her question. "I tripped and my blouse got torn, so I just borrowed a T-shirt."

"Sure you did," Freya whispered, but it was obviously meant for me to hear.

"Tsk! You really don't take care of yourself. Go change and have a snack," Auntie instructed.

I just smiled and nodded. I glared at Freya before heading to my room. I also made sure not to show that I was struggling to walk, even though my muscles were screaming in pain.

You'll get what's coming to you, Freya!
