Chapter 25 - Make an exception for me!

Luthien's pov

This is seriously fucked up.

The hell is she trying to do?

"Maybe you all should head home." I say, my eyes focused on her as she slings to Vier, all tipsy.

"But boss!" Amelia whines, Dean and Amy were too drunk, Amelia held onto Amy while Chris grabbed Dean. "Let's put them in the cab, be responsible, and drop them home." I say, pushing my hair back.

"But I wanna sing~" Amy slurs, hiccuping and giggling in Amelia's arm. "Maybe boss is right." Amelia says, agreeing as Amy was being too much to hold onto, I walk towards the edge of the road, hailing a cab.

"You two can go with this, don't worry, I will pay." I say, grabbing my purse as I pay the fee, Amelia subtly holds onto Amy, slowly settling in.

"Vier, won't you come? Your place is around mine." Amelia says, peeking her head out. I feel light knowing I can cast him out, "Yeah, join." I say, stiff.

"Maybe I will drop her first." Vier says, making me pissed.

I walk to him, grabbing Sierra off of him, "No…let me. You should get going. You are tipsy too." I hold her tight, but firm as I gesture him to join them. Vier nods, walking to the cab, settling in.

"Chris, go help Dean in the car, too. Wherever it is, it won't matter; they will drop him." I say, holding Sierra tight as she whines, trying to push me. "Calm down." I mumble, sighing as I take her towards my car.

Chris follows after me, I roll my eyes.

"Go, get your home." I say, chuckling while I put Sierra on the passenger seat, "What? Drop me home too!" Chris whines, gasping in disbelief. "I won't." I say, tucking my tongue out as I walk around towards the driver's seat.

"Seriously? Why not?" He mumbles, coming after me.

"Because I have to drop her. And you were having quite fun, teasing me." I say, forcing a smile, "And now, have fun." I say, getting in the seat, and locking the car. Chris scoffs, smacking the window a few times.

"Yah! Seriously?"

I make a face, teasing him, "Why? Is this not funny now?"

"Luthien~ please, don't do this, uh? You are my man." He whines, I chuckle, shrugging. "Why can I not? You were having fun teasing me too." I add, wiggling my brow.

I start the engine, enjoying riling him up.

"No, Luthien! Don't leave me. I won't let you leave." I chuckle as he walks to the front, extending his hands by his side. I shake my head. I froze when I felt a hand on my thigh, I looked down and gulped.

Blinking my eyes, I looked to my side, She was sleeping, leaning towards my seat, but held by the straps I buckled her up with. I couldn't help but stare at her peaceful face. I heard knocks that got me out of my daze.

I open the lock, looking ahead.

Chris gasps, grinning happily as he rushes to open the back seat, settling in, "I knew you wouldn't leave me."

I for sure know, I won't be able to withstand the silence and her presence, all by myself.

This is safe, play safe.

I lean against the steering, cursing under my breath. "I am all set, let's go." Chris says, oblivious to the turmoil I was in, I sigh, sitting up straight as I start the car again, "Do you know her address?" I ask, looking at him through the rearview.

"Uh… nope." He mutters, I groan.

"Should we take her with us?" I ask, looking at him.

"Hmm, works. I mean, she had stayed with us before, she wouldn't mind. Right?" He says, wondering towards the end, I chuckle, "Perhaps?"

"Then, to our penthouse." I mutter, driving the car.

"I am tired." Chris mumbles, yawning as he leans against the seat. "Though, you sure took me by surprise." He adds, making me frown.

"Now what did I do?" I ask, raising my brow.

He chuckles.

I look at him through the rearview, "What?"

"Seriously, dude?" He mutters, leaning down towards me, "You agreed, that's surprising."

I tilt my head confused, "Heh. I don't get you, come again."

Chris huffs, leaning back. "You agreed to join them, like for a non-work-related dinner."

"So?" I mutter, "I felt like eating… why is it that surprising for you?" I ask, rolling my eyes.

Chris rolls his eyes, huffing as he leans back on the seat, in disbelief. I scoff at disbelief with his reaction. "What's with this reaction?" I mumble, baffled.

"Like hell." He mutters.

"Just get to the point, ass." I retort back, focusing on the road.

Thankfully, she was sound asleep, oblivious to our banter.

"The point is, you never like such a gathering. Just admit it." I frown. Why is he now making such a big deal out of this? "So? I don't like." I mumble.

"See. You came because she was going." He adds.

I poke my inner cheek with my tongue, "Maybe leaving you be, on the street was a good idea." I say, earning an eye roll. "You never agreed when I asked you to join me!" He huffs, I raise my brow.

"So, this is what you mean." I say, chuckling.

"Why? Are you jealous"? I ask, wiggling my brow as I keep watch on his expression, watching him widen his eyes and shake his head no, "Like hell I am." He mutters, making me chuckle.

"Come on, those gatherings were like a formal party to find mates. I didn't want to get disappointed after all these attempts." I sigh, "I mean…I did join you for some. After that, I didn't feel like."

"Okay, I accept that, but you still left me alone for so many occasions." He makes me roll my eyes again, "So? I just don't like to be social."

"No, what I mean is… You never made an exception for me."

I gasp, his words catching me off-guard but the pout in his mouth, fuck.

The hell with this guy.

"Dude!"

"I am your best friend!" He adds, I groan, leaning against the seat as I focus on driving, "So, you should understand me, no?" I start, "Because you are my best friend."

Chris huffs, "Am I the only one always understanding?"

Why is he sulking?

"You shouldn't be sulking…we don't usually get drunk." I state, Chris rolls his eyes. "So? I drank four glasses!" He huffs, I gasp, "You asked for more, why?"

"Ok, I was jealous." Chris admits, looking away. "A girl bought you from me." He whines, fake crying, and I groan, annoyed.

"Fuck." I mutter, "Just… stop, aye?"

"No. Promise, you will make an exception for me to!"

I sigh, pushing my hair back as I scroll the shield down, needing fresh air.

"OK, ok!" I give up, I hear him snicker. "Now, that's like my boy!" he says, excited, ruffling my head. I growl, pulling my head away.

"You were faking that?" I ask, huffing.

Chris laughs, "Who cares? Now, treat me better."

I shake my head, chuckling, rolling my eyes.

This idiot.
