Xiao Bai carefully examined the object in his hands several times and was absolutely certain.

Xiao Yi seemed displeased, darting around Xiao Bai, while the golden egg chased after it persistently.

Xiao Bai stared at the egg, astonished. Just moments ago, he had tried sensing its life force but found nothing, which was why he was certain it wasn't Medusa.
But now, he wasn't so sure.
Could this really be Medusa? Had the lightning tribulation changed her appearance?

Just then, the tiny Heaven Swallowing Python in his hands let out a soft hiss, almost like it was acting cute.
Xiao Bai's anger vanished instantly. He ignored the rogue egg entirely.
The little python's body was pure white, its scales shimmering with a seven-colored glow. Its large, purple eyes blinked curiously as it gazed at him, its innocent expression utterly adorable.
Unconsciously, a smile formed at the corner of Xiao Bai's lips.
Reaching into his spatial ring, he pulled out a Core Flame Lotus Seed and held it up to the little python's mouth.
The little Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python seemed to recognize the Ground Fire Lotus Seed as a delicious treat and swallowed it in one bite.
A moment later, as if full, it let out a soft, adorable burp, releasing a puff of cyan mist.
"Get lost!"
Xiao Bai impatiently waved his sleeve, shoving aside the golden egg that had come over to join the fun.
Releasing Xiao Yi, he watched as a flash of lightning sent it flying into the distance. The golden egg immediately chased after it, finally leaving him alone.
Xiao Bai let out a breath of relief. That golden egg was far too annoying—thankfully, he had Xiao Yi to keep it distracted.
He then turned his gaze back to the little Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python, which was darting playfully between his palms. Unable to resist, he caught it in his hands, curiosity stirring in his heart. He needed to figure out exactly what was going on.

In the depths of darkness, a wandering soul drifted aimlessly, fragments of shattered light occasionally merging into its form.
Murmuring echoed in the void.
"Who… am I?"
"I am Medusa!"
"No, I am the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python!"
"No… that's not right… I am the King!"
Suddenly, the soul clutched its head and let out a sharp scream as countless images flashed through its mind.
Moments later, the soul's turmoil settled, and a dignified glint appeared in its eyes.
She remembered now.
She was Queen Medusa—the ruler of the Snake-People Race!
When the tribulation lightning descended, Xiao Bai had urged her to retreat into the soul seal, pouring all of his soul power into reinforcing it.
Her body had been entirely controlled by the infant Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python, which had endured the first wave of lightning strikes. Then, when the full force of the tribulation struck, Xiao Bai's soul seal had shielded her, though she still suffered severe damage.
Within this mental sea, she had nearly been wiped out… but in the end, she had survived.

Xiao Bai shuddered involuntarily, finally snapping out of his daze.
Looking down, he found himself holding a curvaceous, delicate figure in his arms. Hastily, he retracted his hands, awkwardly rubbing his nose.
A faint, intoxicating fragrance lingered on his palms.
Xiao Bai stiffened.
Crap.
Sure enough—
The beautiful figure in his arms caught his subtle movement, and for some reason, her anger flared even further.
"You shameless lecher!"
With a furious cry, she slapped Xiao Bai, sending him flying.
Though uninjured, Xiao Bai quickly scrambled to his feet, straightened his posture, and cleared his throat.
"Ahem… Your Majesty, I can explai—cough—explain!"
"Hmph! I have no interest in your excuses!" A cold snort echoed from within the swirling red mist. "If you ever dare pull such disgraceful antics again… I will make you pay dearly!"
