Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

At the gates of Mondstadt, a Knight on duty stood dumbfounded as he watched a black-haired man stroll up effortlessly—carrying a literal pile of wild boars on his shoulders.

The boars were neatly stacked and bound tightly with vines. Every single one of them looked fat, heavy, and full of meat. Together... they had to weigh over a ton.

How in the world was this guy carrying all that?!

The knight quickly stepped in to block him. "Who are you? What's your business in Mondstadt?"

"I'm a traveler from another nation—name's Kael. I'm here to explore and tour Mondstadt."

The knight pulled out some documents. "Fill out these forms. Once you're done, you're free to enter. But within 24 hours, you must report to the Knights of Favonius headquarters for registration."

Kael took the forms and gave them a thorough look.

The questions were fairly straightforward—Name, Age, Country of Origin, Reason for Visiting Mondstadt, and whether or not he knew anyone in the city.

He finished the paperwork quickly.

"The Knights of Favonius welcome you. We hope you enjoy your stay in Mondstadt."

The entire entry process took less than half an hour—

And that's exactly why Kael had chosen Mondstadt as his first stop.

Unlike other nations, Mondstadt wasn't ruled by a god—it was a free land.

If this were Liyue or Inazuma, the entry process would've been way more strict and complicated.

Mondstadt was basically the starter village of Teyvat. Its people were generally kind and welcoming.

As a base to begin familiarizing himself with this world, it was the perfect choice.

With the paperwork done, Kael hoisted the boars again and strolled straight into the city.

A man carrying a mountain of wild boars down the street was... well, impossible to ignore.

Every passerby in Mondstadt turned to stare, their eyes full of curiosity.

Kael paid no mind to the weird looks and made a beeline for the Good Hunter restaurant.

If there was any place in the city capable of handling this much meat, it had to be either Good Hunter or the Angel's Share tavern.

Selling off these boars would give him some Mora to live on.

"Hello, I'm Kael—a newly arrived hunter in Mondstadt. I went hunting outside the city today and got a few wild boars. Would you happen to need any?"

Sara, the waitress at Good Hunter, nearly jumped out of her skin at the wall of boars that suddenly appeared in front of her.

These massive beasts were stacked like a mountain, completely blocking her view.

"Hmm…" Sara reached out, prodding the front and hind legs of the boars, then pressed a finger into their flesh to feel the texture.

"This meat is firm and elastic. Judging from the quality, they probably died not long ago. Excellent ingredients."

"But... these boars are huge, and our restaurant couldn't go through this much meat in a week. It'd be a waste to let it spoil. We can take one."

"Huh? Only one?" Kael was a bit disappointed. That still left five more boars to sell.

For some reason, the moment Sara laid eyes on Kael, she felt a strange sense of familiarity.

Warmth welled up in her chest—an instinctive feeling of closeness.

Seeing Kael's furrowed brows, her heart softened.

"…Alright, I'll take another—no, two more. Three boars in total. But that's really all we can handle."
