AT THE SAME TIME
ISABELLA'S POINT OF VIEW:
As we entered the grand hall of Michael's castle, the atmosphere felt strangely comforting. Once inside, Michael led us to a large sitting room, the kind where important decisions were made, and where secrets were often shared. He gestured for Vanessa to sit first, before sitting beside her, with me close to him. The atmosphere grew heavy as the fire crackled and the silence stretched. Michael was the first to break it, his voice calm yet firm.
"Alright, Vanessa. Start from the beginning. What's really going on here?"Michael asked.
Vanessa shifted uneasily in her seat, glancing at me before turning her attention to Michael.
"You deserve to know." She began, her voice strained. "The game… it's not just some random force. It's part of something much bigger, and there are rules, things you both aren't supposed to know yet."
Michael's jaw clenched, but he didn't interrupt her.
"What do you mean by 'the game'?"He asked.
