Chapter 11 - The True foe

"So did y'all hear, we gonna be having an orientation tomorrow?", Xavier directed his speech towards the group trying to make small talk with them.

"Ya, we kinda did. Two days ago," Avon replied.

"Ohh."

Xavier later took a sit beside Lyra.

He picked up his spoon and sank it into the soup, raising it above and letting it spill back into the bowl.

He really didn't like soups but this was the only thing available at the moment.

'I guess I have no choice. Hopefully it doesn't take as bad as the lunch lady's meals back home.'

He dipped the spoon one more time, swirled the mushrooms around and took a spoon full and hurriedly rushed it into his mouth to avoid scenting it.

He tasted the soup. He was sure it was gonna taste like fungus or something but to his surprise, it wasn't that bad.

"Hmmm. It's not actually that bad. Try it," he told lyra.

Lyra soon took her own little taste and didn't completely despise the meal.

"With a bit of pepper, I think I could someday give this another try."

The two enjoyed their meal while the rest talked on the other side of the table.

Soon lunch was over and it was time to head back to the dorms.

"So soon. I was just about to order some more," Xavier said.

In no time, the cafeteria was cleared exposing the nasty deposits of food stains the students used to decorate the floor.

When they got to the dorm, Xavier didn't know which one he was to go into.

Each room was to harbour two people and all the duos had been established.

'What's this now. Where do I go? I hope I don't have to stay in the janitor's closet.'

He was about to step out of the dorm when Leo pulled him back. "Where are you going? You're spending the day with us today till we get our own room after tomorrow."

"Are you sure?"

"Definitely, right Avon?", he turned to reassure Xavier with Avon's opinion.

"Ya, we will love to have you. Come in."

"Wow. Thanks a lot," Xavier got in and shut the door behind him after Leo went in.

The three friends cooped up in their room, engaged in a warm discussion till twilight before all gave in to the sleep hovering over their eyelids in the night.

Contrary to the joyous atmosphere in the academy, an eerie abode resided in the void where the young God was given rise from.

The void radiated with its thickness are casting pressure against any whom that stood in such a powerful environment.

The beautiful two-faced goddess stood at the alterine – the rotunda in the void.

Her emerald glowing eyes shimmering in the night void, a dubious saviour all to a fatal end.

Her dark long hair danced in the air as it morphed into a dark mist converting her entire body.

Dark vapour overwhelmed her. 'Aeloria' in no time was transformed into the little devil she truly was, Ravana.

"My true lord, it is all in motion. The young god is in your hands. He will continue to grow stronger while still remaining in your control. You will rule this world without an ounce of opposition."

The surrounding air suddenly became thick with the arriving presence of a more shifty and powerful deity.

Lightning crackled a bit and thunder roared welcoming the divine presence of the deity.

The air efferversed dark mist around the giant throne in the building.

It transitioned into a figure, his face barely being seen with all the dark mana clustering all over him.

"Good. My kingdom is already growing once more."

Ravana expected a little remark of thanks but was let reserved after he spoke.

"What about her?", the arriving God asked.

"She's over there."

Ravana pointed to the centre of the alterine where Xavier's little throne settled before.

Now it was occupied by a tower, more like a cage. It houses a little orb at the top.

Voice radiated from the tower. "Pls, Ravana don't do this."

The true goddess of light, Aeloria was trapped in the tower and pleaded for mercy.

The tower was siphoning every bit of magic left in herans transmitting it into the orb.

She screamed as power was drawn. Every minute was another round of devastating drain as her very source of living was being drawn from her.

"Pls, stop. If you continue any further, I'll fade into nothing."

"What do you think we are trying to do? We want you dead but not at the expense of your power," she turned to the other demon and said "Soon she will be completely depleted and have nothing left to stop us before she fades to oblivion."

"So, what is the update on the young boy?"

"My Lord. The young king–"

"You dare call him that, and in my presence."

He quickly got up though it couldn't have easily been noticed due to the dark dew of mana hovering over the surface of his body.

He raised his arm and struck Ravana to the ground.

"Don't you ever call him that. Ever."

He took his seat before signalling her to continue.

"I am sorry my Lord. The young boy had just awakened and achieved his first skill. I will keep him under close supervision and restrictions. Everything is under control. There is no need to worry, sir. In no time you will be free and then there will be no one left to stop you."

Soon the more powerful deity's figure began fluctuating and effervescing.

He couldn't maintain his form any longer owing to the attack launched at Ravana earlier.

"I am about to leave again. Not before some power this time."

He raised his arm towards the top of the tower and drew the stores up mana and absorbed it.

"Continue to look over at him and never allow him to level up above me."

The dark being soon dissipated into thin air after siphoning the power he needed.

Now, Ravana and Aeloria were the only two left in the alterine.

Ravana walked towards the central tower, looking through the cage window to view the goddess.

"Sister, the worst of it is only yet to come and you soon fade into nothing."
