Cherreads

Chapter 166 - The Fire of Ambition

Kakashi waved his hands in frustration toward Might Guy, his face exhausted from emotion and loss."Okay, okay, don't say another word!Go to hell if you must! The sooner you're dead, the sooner you'll be reunited with the souls you cherish! Are you planning to stay paralyzed like this forever?!"

But Might Guy only responded with that unwavering fire in his eyes."Kakashi!!! This is youth!!!"And beside him, his father Might Dai echoed, "Sakumo!!! This is youth!!!"

Their roars of conviction pierced the air. Then, silence fell. The two Blue Beasts of Konoha, warriors who had burned everything for their will of fire, breathed their last. Their chests no longer moved. Their sacrifice was absolute. Their resolve unshakable.

Souta Kazuki stood unmoved by the final cry of youth, his black eyes locked on the still forms. He did not hesitate—not even for a moment. He had been here before.

He knew.

Because he had summoned Danzo in the past, Danzo's soul flame remained tethered to his summoning space. Likewise, Might Guy's soul flame had returned to him the moment his body fell lifeless. The Summoner's bond did not sever—it merely shifted. Their essence remained within Souta.

He stood still for only a breath longer, then performed the hand seals.

"Summoning Technique!"

In that instant, 100 million ryo vanished from his wealth pool, the cost of exchanging for a golden summoning scroll. He didn't stop there—another 50 million ryo evaporated like dust in the wind, the cost of restoring a life. A high price. But for Souta Kazuki, it was always about the outcome.

He still had millions remaining in his war chest.

Bang!

A thunderous sound shook the ground.

"This is youth!!!""This is youth!!!"

Might Guy, the Blue Beast of Konoha, stood again—alive, whole, and roaring with spirit. A man who had burned his life force for victory now stood resurrected.

The scene was surreal. His own corpse lay nearby, yet he stood watching it with a frown that held confusion and curiosity.

"Is this... how the Third Hokage felt?" he murmured, looking at his body. That same eerie sense of disconnection that Sarutobi Hiruzen once described when his soul was pulled away and then summoned again.

With Guy's return, the chaos began to settle. Senju Hashirama clapped his hands, once more using his Wood Release to mend the battered village, restoring the earth as though the war had never happened. Beside him, Uchiha Madara walked with casual authority toward the lifeless body of Otsutsuki Urashiki. With one foot, he kicked the corpse over and sneered.

"So this is the so-called Otsutsuki? He had the Rinnegan, yet his combat sense was appalling. If all the Otsutsuki are like this, then we're overestimating them."

His disdain was evident, yet his eyes didn't lie—caution remained. In his hands were trophies: Urashiki's fishing rod, his chakra-absorbing backpack, and a small turtle with mysterious, unassuming features.

The rod and bag had been Urashiki's key tools, used to extract and store chakra. The turtle—Li—was something else entirely. A space-time treasure. The very reason Urashiki could traverse dimensions.

Adult Sasuke arrived at that moment, his eyes calmly examining the items.

"He didn't even use his best techniques... Yomi or Ryosaka. Had he escaped into another dimension, we might not have caught him," Sasuke said. "This turtle... it's called the Plow. It allowed him to travel across time and space."

Uchiha Madara narrowed his eyes, holding the little creature up. A weapon disguised as a harmless animal. The Otsutsuki were stranger and more layered than he expected.

Meanwhile, on the ground, Orochimaru was practically trembling with excitement.

He slithered toward Urashiki's ruined body, golden eyes glowing. His long tongue licked across his lips unconsciously as he pulled out storage containers from a sealing scroll, collecting bits of flesh and blood from the fallen alien.

"Excellent experimental materials!" he hissed, his fingers moving quickly, sealing away whatever samples he could.

But he wasn't done. Orochimaru's eyes turned toward Souta, sharp and calculating.

"Souta... I have an idea," he said slowly. "If we can create a clone body with genetics close to the Otsutsuki... then apply the curse seal... then transfer the soul... we could mass-produce Otsutsuki-level bodies!"

He paused, letting the idea settle.

"Of course... this would be a tremendous undertaking. Cloning even a partial Otsutsuki body would be unbelievably difficult... but if we succeed..." His voice dropped to a whisper, "Konoha's strength would transcend every known limit."

Souta didn't flinch. He hadn't expected less from Orochimaru.

But he had his own vision.

"The bodies of Urashiki, Kinshiki, and Momoshiki aren't ready to be handed over just yet," Souta said coolly. "I still have plans for them. But... if you want to study the Otsutsuki, why not study living ones?"

Orochimaru blinked. "Living...? Do you mean Kaguya? Or the legendary Sage of Six Paths?"

Souta shook his head. "No. You're forgetting what I can do, Uncle Orochimaru. Let's bury these three in Konoha."

He paused, then smirked.

"Hahahahahaha..."

Orochimaru's body stiffened in delight.

Burial in the village would mean the soul fire of all three could be absorbed into Souta's summoning space. With that, he could resurrect them at will—under his control. Living Otsutsuki, alive and restrained, ripe for dissection and experimentation.

Orochimaru's mind spun into a frenzy of ideas.

Three test subjects. Real ones. Breathing. Moving. A dream come true.

But after the excitement, he steadied himself and muttered, "We must find a way to suppress them. Even resurrected, they're far too powerful."

Souta's eyes were cold.

"Take their eyes. Seal their chakra points using Sage Art Sealing Techniques. They'll be alive—but caged."

"Hahahahahaha... A brilliant idea! Truly brilliant!" Orochimaru laughed.

The others stared, stunned at the callous strategy.

Resurrecting the Otsutsuki just to turn them into test subjects? Even slave drivers hadn't been so ruthless.

Uchiha Sasuke finally understood everything. The request Souta made earlier—to bring the Otsutsuki corpses across time and space—now made sense. It was never about preservation. It was preparation.

This... was all part of Souta Kazuki's plan.
