They reached the inner chamber. There in its center stood a massive door, its surface covered in swirling Aetheric symbols. Unlike the divine seal outside, this one radiated something different.
Celeste stepped forward, pressing her palm against the markings.
The moment she touched it, everything trembled.
A voice echoed through the chamber.
"Who dares disturb the silence of forgotten gods?"
A figure materialized before them. It Not a god. Not even a mortal.
A humanoid shape, formed entirely of shifting Aether, loomed above them. Its face was obscured but its presence was undeniable.
It was a Guardian.
Dain drew his blade instinctively. "A test?"
Celeste exhaled . "Looks like we'll have to prove ourselves."
The Guardian raised a hand. The air twisted bending pure Aether then it formed into a massive weapon in its grip.
The trial had begun.
