Fai & Isa: Love in the Fantasy World
Part 23 – Fears That Take Root
The world around them continued to shift. The sky swirled like a massive vortex, and the ground pulsed beneath their feet. The mysterious figure still stood there, watching them as if waiting for something.
Fai and Isa tried to stay calm, but a strange unease crept into their hearts.
"I feel like… this world is slipping away from us," Isa whispered.
Fai tightened his grip on his sword. "We need to understand what's happening before it's too late."
Before they could act, the deep, resounding voice echoed once more in their minds.
"You still stand."
Suddenly, cracks formed on the ground around them, and from those fissures, shadows emerged—not just ordinary darkness, but figures shaped from their own fears and memories.
Isa gasped as she saw a version of herself step forward, her face empty, her eyes void of light.
Fai saw something far worse. From his shadow, the figure of his father emerged—the man he once admired—wearing an expression of deep disappointment.
"Are you strong enough to face yourselves?"
The shadows moved, attacking with a speed that caught them off guard.
Fai and Isa had no choice but to fight. Yet, the moment Fai's sword slashed through his father's shadow, a strange pain struck his chest. This wasn't just an illusion. It was a wound from his past, one that had never truly healed.
Isa felt it too. Every blow against the shadow of herself felt like cutting into her own heart.
They had to find a way to overcome this—before their own world swallowed them whole.
