Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Eating Hot Pot and Singing Songs

Chapter 34: Eating Hot Pot and Singing Songs

Under the dark, gloomy clouds, two bolts of lightning struck down. One hit the mast, and the other hit the sail.

A violent storm was raging, with torrential rain. Giant raindrops crashed onto the deck, and the water flowed like waterfalls down the sides of the ship, plunging into the sea only to be whipped back up by the wind. Like the claws of a raging beast, the waves rose high, tossing the ship to and fro.

But amidst this storm, faint sounds of merriment could be heard.

The ship's structure had three levels above the deck. It had originally been designed for passenger travel, so it was quite spacious. The first level was a banquet hall, similar to those found on merchant or cruise ships, which Sag had kept.

The second level was the captain's quarters, but it was much larger than the one on the stolen warship, enough to serve as living quarters. Naturally, it belonged to Sag.

The third level was a combined command center, control room, and conference room. It could be used for meetings with the officers later. Lily and Renettia could command, observe, and steer from up there.

As for Sag's treasure, he had placed it in the central room of the first level of the hold. He had Renettia add dynamic power to it. The ship's materials themselves wouldn't be destroyed by cannon fire, and being in the center position, it was even more impossible. Plus, with the added dynamic power, keeping the treasure room in constant motion, even if someone broke in, they couldn't easily open it.

Of course, this only prevented petty theft. If they encountered a truly strong person, it was either the loser taking the dust or the winner taking all.

"Yo ho ho ho, yo ho ho ho~"

"Yo ho ho ho, yo ho~ ho ho!"

The banquet hall on the first level was brightly lit, radiating a golden glow. A group of pirates were feasting, drinking, and competing in drinking games. Although there were only thirty-odd people, they didn't occupy much space in this hall, but the sounds of merriment were quite loud.

At the head of the hall, beneath the throne, was an exquisitely decorated round table. Sag, Lily, and Renettia were gathered around it, cooking hot pot.

Sag wore a string of red jade beads around his neck, a thick gold bracelet on his left wrist, a green jade thumb ring on his left thumb, and two gold rings on his index and little fingers. His right index, middle, and little fingers also wore gemstone and gold rings. He was currently holding a pair of chopsticks, picking up meat from the hot pot and stuffing it into his mouth.

He was completely unaffected by the storm outside.

Neither Lily, as the navigator, nor Renettia, as the shipwright, were worried.

Instead, they were enjoying themselves, using chopsticks to pick up food from the hot pot.

"It's getting lively!"

Sag poured himself a glass of wine, downed it in one gulp, and shouted to the pirates in front of him, "Sing louder, everyone!"

There were many pirate songs, of course. The one they were singing now was an ancient but still very popular one at sea: 'Bink's Sake'.

Eating hot pot and singing songs, welcoming this storm, it had a certain flavor.

As for Lily, she occasionally looked out the window at the attacking storm, a subtle worry always in her eyes.

Renettia didn't care. The little girl held chopsticks and eagerly grabbed food, her eyes sparkling.

"This is delicious, and this is also delicious! It's just water with some seasoning, why does it taste so good? It's so strange!"

"Of course it's comfortable to eat hot pot on a stormy day. Outside, there's wind and rain, inside, it's warm and lively. How nice,"

Sag raised his cup to the lively pirates, smiling. "I could live like this forever and never get tired of it."

"Is it really okay?" Lily pursed her lips and said, "Maybe we should work harder..."

"Don't worry! The ship I built can definitely withstand this level of storm. There won't be any damage!" Renettia said confidently.

Storms like this, since Sag had left the Kingdom of Nattia, he had even gotten used to them.

He had originally thought that since the treasures plundered by the Kingdom of Nattia were in his hands, and the completed ship was also in his hands, was his bad luck finally turning around?

After being unlucky for so long, it was his turn, wasn't it?

But as soon as he had this thought, the heavens told him that his bad luck was still going strong.

The storms hadn't stopped.

At first, Lily was very conscientious, commanding people to raise and lower the sails, day and night, trying to navigate out of the storm zone as quickly as possible.

Then...

It was as if the storm had a mind of its own. No matter which direction Lily sailed the ship, the storm would drift in that direction. She had clearly calculated the wind direction and was sure that the rain clouds in the sky wouldn't move, but as soon as the ship sailed away, even the wind direction changed.

It was unclear if Sag's luck was too bad, or if the base color of this ship was too dark...

In the end, Lily simply gave up.

Anyway, the ship wouldn't be damaged. Let it be. She was tired.

That was why there was a scene of violent storms and huge waves outside, while inside it was singing, dancing, and boisterous merriment.

It was a bit unlucky, and they could only have parties inside, but with the ship's protection, it didn't matter.

Just like Sag himself, although he was very unlucky, his strength could ensure that he wouldn't be greatly affected.

As for the wind direction...

Although this ship was very susceptible to the wind, it also had a propulsion system. If necessary, they could just lower the sails and use the propulsion. And with Renettia around, they didn't even need to do that.

She herself was a Dynamic Human. She could apply dynamic force at any time, making the ship sail towards its destination.

As for the storm... no one cared anymore.

Sag even found some seasonings in the kitchen and made a hot pot, directly cooking meat.

You could put anything in a hot pot. It didn't matter what the ingredients were, as long as it was edible, anything put in would become delicious.

It wasn't that he had to do it himself, it was mainly because none of these pirates knew how to cook. They were good at drinking, but cooking... it was just simply grilling or boiling things. Before, there wasn't much food, so they could eat it.

But now that they had confiscated so many supplies, including precious ingredients from the kingdom, it would be too much of a waste to simply grill or boil them.

Sag wanted to enjoy himself, not to suffer. There was no need to be so stingy.

"So, being my subordinates, you can also enjoy yourselves!"

Sag raised his glass to his subordinates from afar and laughed loudly. "Lads, work hard! When you get me a large territory, I'll take you to parties every day!"

"Oooooh!!" The pirates cheered loudly.

"Sag, shouldn't we try my Tamagoyaki?" Lily looked at Sag expectantly.

Sag twitched the corners of his mouth imperceptibly. "I've been eating too many eggs lately. Next time."

"How about you, Renetti?" Lily looked at Renettia.

"I'm allergic to eggs!" Renettia said firmly.

Around the hot pot, there were also several plates of things that were probably eggs.

Because Sag had entered the kitchen, Lily was also interested and went into the kitchen to show off her cooking skills. And her favorite thing was eggs, so she made tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet).

As for why it was *probably* eggs...

Because that thing was burnt to a black charcoal. If you didn't say it was food, you'd think it was some kind of wood fuel.

Even the key problem wasn't that!

Sag clearly remembered that there were no eggs among the supplies. Apart from his lower body, there wasn't a single egg on the entire ship!

What the hell were these 'tamagoyaki' made of?
