Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Swarm? How Dare You Invade!

Ji Yi's expression was grim. Now was not the time to relax — the most terrifying disaster in the universe was not so easy to escape.

Tingyun gazed at the dense forest.

Her instincts told her that something was off.

But even if this forest was a death trap — today, she had no choice but to walk straight into it!

Just as Ji Yi was about to enter the forest—

"Bang!"

"Outsiders, halt!"

After a burst of rapid footsteps, they realized that, at some point, they had been completely surrounded by heavily armed soldiers.

The atmosphere was tense — a confrontation was imminent.

------------------------------------

Ji Yi was completely stunned when he saw the heavily armed, burly soldiers.

Wasn't Jarilo-VI supposed to be a lifeless planet? These people looked like they were eating better than him.

The sudden development even left Tingyun momentarily stunned.

A planet that had disappeared for hundreds of years suddenly reappearing with natives still living on it—this kind of plot was something even the third-rate novelists of Luofu wouldn't dare to write.

Perhaps fictional historians might find it interesting.

Seeing the two sides still locked in a standoff, Tingyun knew that a conflict must absolutely be avoided at a time like this.

She quickly stepped to the front, forcing down the unease in her heart, and smiled slightly.

"I am Tingyun, an agent of the Luofu Xianzhou Sky-Faring Commission's Whistling Flames merchant guild. Our visit here was truly out of desperation. Forgive our offense—honestly, we were attacked by a swarm of insects from the Disaster Swarm during our voyage, which forced us to make an emergency landing."

Tingyun knew that in situations like this, staying calm was crucial. In their current weakened state, a conflict with the local forces would be far more dangerous than the swarm itself.

As Tingyun spoke, she was also observing Cocolia and the others. Gepard made no effort to conceal the aura of the Preservation Path, letting it radiate without restraint, as if his spear would strike at any sign of trouble.

"Insects from the path of Propagation? I don't care what you did out there—just don't bring disaster to Jarilo-VI. Now, leave!"

Her teeth ached.

Tingyun's pearly teeth pressed together tightly, her brows filled with distress.

If their ship were still functional, they wouldn't have even thought of making an emergency landing on Jarilo-VI. Besides, after the crash, the ship was barely holding together. Forget escaping the swarm's attack—it might explode if someone pressed the wrong button.

Just as she was about to continue trying to persuade them to offer them a place to hide, a commotion suddenly erupted from the people behind her.

"It's the swarm! The swarm is coming!"

"Run! I don't want to be eaten by those things!"

"Form a defensive line! Don't panic! Form a defensive line!"

Several surviving officers roared with strained voices, while many trade caravan members, unable to suppress their terror, began fleeing in panic as the guards looked on, unsure how to react.

Faced with this situation, Ji Yi could only do his best to organize the soldiers for defense.

In the sky, a dark shadow was rapidly approaching—this was precisely why the guards were hesitating to give chase.

"They're coming so fast!" Tingyun's pupils shrank sharply as she urgently shouted:

"Miss Cocolia, now's not the time to argue! Do you know any place we can hide? Hurry! Otherwise, it'll be too late!"

Cocolia had just opened her mouth to respond when—

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

Heavy footsteps rumbled like the earth itself was roaring.

Bare toes dug into the ground with force—Tingyun even felt like she might be blown away if she didn't brace herself.

What's going on?! She raised her head, and her mind went blank.

A colossal figure, like a pillar supporting the sky, a being stepping out of myth—just looking at it was enough to make her heart feel like it would burst.

"Rooooaaaarrrr" A bunch of insects dare to act so arrogantly?

Godzilla let out a breath, his hot breath steaming like vapor.

His gaze pierced through the atmosphere, locking directly onto the swarm diving toward Jarilo-VI.

The sharp mandibles of the swarm sparked as they collided at high speed—their cold, emotionless compound eyes were enough to make anyone shiver with fear.

A blue glow flickered from Godzilla's tail fin, then climbed up his dorsal fins, finally gathering in his mouth—a soft, radiant blue light flashing continuously.

"30%! 67%! 80%!"

"What?" Ji Yi came back to his senses at the sound, instinctively asking. But as soon as he spoke, a piercing alarm sounded.

"It's off the charts!" The observer's hands trembled as they held an instrument. "The energy reading is off the charts!"

"Boom!!"

His voice was swallowed by a deafening roar as dazzling blue light blanketed the sky. The scorching heat made everyone present visibly uncomfortable. Except for a few Pathstriders, the accompanying guards and trade caravan members all instinctively shut their eyes at the blinding light.

"Zhi zhi." The bug charging at the front only felt a flash of light before everything went dark.

Sweep! A deep blue beam of light slashed across the sky, revealing the vast expanse of the skies wherever it passed!

The moment the blazing pillar of light touched the swarm of insects, the entire sky was cleared.

'So noisy.' With a gentle flick of his tail, Godzilla felt at ease.

After accumulating energy for so long, it would have felt strange not to use it.

The people of Belobog always provided him with snacks, but testing it on them didn't seem appropriate.

And then these bugs just happened to show up— like a pillow falling into your lap when you're sleepy.

After finishing up, Godzilla was about to head back for a nap when his tail suddenly twitched, pointing toward a place still smoking in the distance.

"Seems like there's something good over there?" Stepping forward, Godzilla began moving toward that direction.

Watching his figure gradually disappear into the distance, Tingyun let out a long sigh of relief.

"Long live the Beast Lord!"

"The Beast Lord is invincible!"

"Mere bugs—pathetic and powerless!"

The soldiers of Belobog cheered one after another.

As the savior who had rescued Jarilo from centuries of disaster, Godzilla's status in their eyes was unshakable— especially since the lands surrounding Belobog were now recovering at a pace far surpassing other regions, all thanks to him.

Tingyun looked blankly at the fanatical guards. Did the people here really revere that massive creature as something similar to a divine being?

Recalling the scene that had just played out in her mind, Tingyun suddenly felt that it made perfect sense.

That kind of power was something that most Pathstriders couldn't hope to reach in their lifetime.

Even the strongest Pathstriders would have to step aside in front of that power, not daring to engage head-on.

And the terrifying thing was—he seemed so casual about it, like he'd just gone out for a walk after a meal. That wasn't even his full strength!

Ignoring the dazed observers who were still mumbling "impossible," Tingyun smiled slightly and thought about discussing the possibility of temporarily staying in Jarilo with Cocolia.

Suddenly, as if realizing something, she quickly turned her head toward the direction where Godzilla had left.

Oh no! "The ship!"

'Hmm! Where do you think this little thing came from?'

Crunch. Godzilla lay in the middle of the ship with its top torn open. The ship was large, but lying on it felt like resting on a single bed, with the minerals below serving as the bedsheet.

Lying there, his tail occasionally curled up, bringing a few minerals to his mouth.

Tingyun's eye twitched when she arrived, standing frozen as she watched the energy within the minerals visibly flow toward Godzilla's body, eventually being absorbed by him.

This shipment was made up of precious minerals collected from various planets— minerals with both industrial and collector's value.

Although many had been scattered in the clash with the Disaster swarm, leaving only this one ship, the remaining minerals were still worth three billion credits!

But Tingyun didn't care about the minerals. Instead, she sighed with relief.

As long as the ship wasn't completely dismantled, it was fine.

As long as the communication system could still be repaired, everything would be okay!

In an unnoticed corner, as streams of energy were absorbed into Godzilla's body, the entire planet began to visibly recover at a rapid pace.
