[CHAPTER 2]
"WELCOME, BELOVED MAIN CHARACTER!!!"
What the hell are they talking about?!? Wait, is that the president??!
"W-WHAT DO YOU MEAN MAIN CHARACTER?!?!" Minpyo and the people in the high ranks exchange rather loud introductions. While the three smiling Government people looked like their eardrums had just exploded.
When the room finally calmed down because Minpyo stopped looking like he was about to get eaten, the bowing employees stood up straight and looked at him. With that much rich and successful people looking at him, Minpyo suddenly forgot how to breathe.
"Oh.. Whoa! Calm down, Mr. Dal. You know what we are doing here now, right?"
Yeah right, I know now. It's something related to the Main Characters so I should get a grip. Stop being a fool infront of these people.
"Ah, yes.." Minpyo stood straight this time, and wiped his sweat. Minpyo tried his best to not stutter. "Something about me being a.. Main character?" The word "me" and " Main character" on the same sentence felt strange as hell, even more because he was the one saying it.
"Yes, I apologize for the chaotic greeting so we'll introduce ourselves again. We are Korea's head Government, who leads the Government of Side Characters. And the head of that Government stands right behind you" The man standing behind a desk smiles and nods to the three people who led him to the office. The president... "And I'm the President, Lee Taemun." And the very man that said this offered him a proper bow again.
And after the president bowed, everyone took turns walking out the room it was so natural it was like they had a rehearsal. They gave Minpyo words of encouragement and praise as they pass him. He didn't know why, but he said thank you to every one of them.
When it was only half of them inside the office, the president walked to the middle of the room where two long sofas and a single-person sofa were placed and sat on one of the long sofas.
"Surprising, huh?" The woman or Miss Choi takes a step beside him and places her hand on his shoulder again. She seems to do this a lot. "You probably didn't expect this, but we had to appear intimidating in public."
Once everyone was out of the room except him, the Government of Side Characters head and as well as Lady Oh walk to different seats in the middle of the fancy office while Mister Lee stands behind the president's seat.
"Please sit Mister Dal." Lady Oh, that was sitting on a single-person sofa points to the long sofa beside it, where Miss Choi also sat on. Minpyo who was left standing, finally started moving and awkwardly sat on the other side of the sofa where the Miss Choi sat on.
"Well, should we start?" Miss Choi clapped her hands and looked at the president then Minpyo. The president nodded.
"You, Dal Minpyo, is becoming a Main Character." Straight to the point, huh? Wait what?
"Come again?" Minpyo didn't have any words left to let out.
"You are becoming a Main Character. As we know, when we are in the Stories, we act as a Side Character but you, Minpyo, will not." The president seems to have a lot of knowledge about the situation he was in so Minpyo asked,
"How did you know about this? Or, me?"
The prophet, who knows everything and all that is about his world. She has predicted and saw countless of disasters, solved many problems, saved lives, as for she was a Prophet-Detective in her life as a Main Character.
Due to unknown circumstances, the prophet was pulled back onto the World of Side Characters and continued living with her powers intact, fortunately.
She was also a Side Character before becoming a Main Character and experienced the same signs and symptoms as Minpyo.
But even with the power of knowing everything, she never knew why she was pulled back to the world of Side Charcters.
And that prophet is currently just an retired old woman who relies on the government for her health, home, and needs in exchange for her knowledge.
Recently, the prophet announced about another Main Character being born into this world, and that came to me, Dal Minpyo.
It wasn't the first time it happened though.
I knew it, I wasn't that special..
"With that being said, you are one of the hundreds to have went through the same thing!" Miss Choi beams ,
"So, there are hundreds of me out there? With their hair changing and all?" It wasn't a proper explanation if he didn't question anything.
"No, no. You are one of the hundreds in the world since the prophet revealed to us that it was happening."
"Since then, we set a lot off to-be Main Characters like you with knowledge about the world waiting for them by information given by the prophet." Says the president.
I wanna meet the prophet so bad. Listening to these amazing remarks about the prophet, Minpyo couldn't help but get excited. Sure, the sudden news of him being a Main Character took a big toll on him but he was also pumped up with thrill even though he wasn't even that interested in stories and the different worlds.
In short, prophet was also a Main Character who was brought back to the world of Side Characters who also brought back her ability as a main character to know everything.
"Say, has something changed on your body?" The president asks.
"Thats.. Oh, my hair!" Minpyo took a piece of his hair and rubbed it hard to take off the hairspray and reveal his real, white hair. "It turned white overnight." Minpyo runs his hand across his hair. "And.. I also grew by a few inches."
"White hair?" The president answers with an intrigued tone, "That's a sign you'll be a Main Character in a fantasy story." The president chuckles. "My favourite genre is fantasy, and a Main Character with a personality like yours interests me."
"Haha.. Thanks a lot."
"Surely, you guys also have a subject all about stories in school right? You see, everything that has been taught in those times were barely half of the truth about stories."
"??" Minpyo tries to figure out what the president is trying to imply in his words.
"Minpyo, since you're now a Main Character who has yet to find and live on another world. Don't you want to know about them in advance?" Miss Choi starts to talk,
".. Yes, I guess?" He just nodded because it didn't sound like too much trouble.
"In our Government, there are endless of projects and companies, but there are also projects that are secrets such as studies on defying the Gods' orders, secret schools-" Miss Choi kept on listing things but he stopped listening once a secret school was mentioned. It sounded cool.
"W-wait, secret school? What is that?" Minpyo cut off Miss Choi who just stopped surprisingly and smiled, like she was already prepared to talk about the "secret school".
"That was why I was talking about hidden projects. The secret school is a school that teaches all there is to the stories till the very end as the prophet and her assistants discover more things." Miss Choi's body was already facing his way even though they were sitting on the same chair.
Minpyo's eyes widened and he nods. I wanna go.
"It's also where other people like you, go to."
Minpyo's nodding reaches a halt. I can meet the other people turning to a main character like me?!
"I wanna join." Minpyo agreed to join instantly.
Miss Choi and the president look at eachother with accomplished smiles.
"You won't regret it."
After that unexpected meeting, they all exchanged goodbye's with the president and went back outside the office to send Minpyo back to his apartment.
"What's your address?" Lady Oh asks Minpyo,
"Oh, it's—" Lady Oh typed hus address on the teleportation device and Minpyo gets teleported again to his address. Or infront of his house.
It's already dark outside.. That didn't feel to long actually.
All they did was talk about the secret schoo, the government hidden projects, and it even reached a topic about Minpyo's family but Mister Lee gladly reminded them that it wa not their reason to meet Minpyo and that was where it ended.
Minpyo takes a shower after coming in and settles on sleeping first. Today was a lot to take in for Minpyo. Though it was a lot, he wasn't the type to make it a big deal so he just went straight to sleep without thinking at all.
The morning came fast and Minpyo takes out the leftovers on his fridge as breakfast and opens Metube on the TV to entertain himself before going to campus.
Oh right, school. Minpyo took his phone and opened his email. Because yesterday, Mister Lee told him that he'll email him details about the secret school so he can attend as soon as he wants.
But when he searched through it, there were still no emails regarding a secret school from the Government. Minpyo just decided to wait and carried on to search for Metube vlogs he can watch while doing his assignments.
Suddenly, he hears a loud, fast, and strong knocking sound. Somebody was knocking on his door at this point of time in the morning? Minpyo imagines some bad guys were there out to get him. Some muscular guys with tattoos all over their bodies with weapons on their hands.
But then he realized he was being absolutely immature and stopped filling his head with ridiculous thoughts and hurried to open the door.
Did becoming a Main Character also change my personality?
To his surprise, it was just Seo Yeohui on her school uniform.
"Why aren't you at school?" Minpyo squints his eyes at the middle schooler grinning wide with her eyes closed.
Minpyo worried for nothing. That's what he thought he would think but no, he worried only to be even more worried.
"The start of school was postponed to 1PM today for some reason. And I was too lazy to change back into my clothes." Yeonhui answered casually while avoiding Minpyo's eyes with twitching lips.
But strangely today, Yeonhui was acting normal and not energetic. And it was strange.
"So, oppa, why were you called by the Gov yesterday?" Yeonhui, as usual, starts a topic like she was the same age as Minpyo when it gets quiet for more than 5 seconds, While getting comfortable and lying on the sofa to watch with Minpyo.
She's back to her normal.
"Oh, uh." Minpyo quickly thinks of an excuse he can mention and remembers what Miss Choi tod him yesterday.
("We told your school just now that we mistook you for a criminal with the same information, don't worry.")
"I got mistook as a criminal with the same name and information as me." He scoffed while shoving a spoon of rice in his mouth.
"Then, I have another question." Yeohui sits up and finally looks at Minpyo with her signature smile that shows her fangs when something catches her interest.
"Yeah?" Here we go again... But Minpyo could've never prepared himself for what came after that.
"Why'd you dye your hair?"
It definitely wasn't a genuine question. She was going to make fun of him.
Minpyo completely forgot about his hair. Maybe it was because he was so used to Yeohui that he didn't even think about his appearance. He also wasn't used to his hair being such a bright colour.
Goddamn it.
