"Since she's got more balls than you." I turned to the skeleton of a kid.

And as quick as he could he swung at me, Rattle! Rattle! I lean back, dodging it, and return a gut punch that puts him to his knees, "You're now both in the same category; retards."

"Let's see how your mom will do." I looked at her.

She was shaking, frightened by the situation, all of their mind weren't in the right place, because of the accident. "P-please stop, let us go, we are just trying to survive," she pleads, her eyes filled with tears. "What? I did help you survive, and you're the one making me the bad guy here?" I shook my head.

'I wish Shane were here; we'd be the best buddies right now,' I thought. 'These people just can't adapt, even in the face of certain death.' I sighed.

"Alright then," I huffed, "I'll get you treated. We have supplies," I said to them as I put the gun in the holster and went to pick up my axe.

"I-I think we should go with him," The mom voiced. Alicia looked at her with a frown. "Mom! He shot Dad,"

"But there was no need to let him suffer longer," She reasoned. Alicia stopped to think.

Alicia looked at her mother. "We can't trust him," she whispered. "I agree, cough!" Her son, clutching his stomach, agreed.

"We can't outrun him," Their mother voiced, and they couldn't refute it. They had just gotten out of an accident, they'll be lucky to walk.

"That's true. Even if you were in perfect condition, you couldn't." The voice sent shivers down their spines, their heart stuck in their throat. The trio turned to me; I had a red-headed axe slumped on my shoulders.

I was walking behind the limpers, the Clark family. I was leading them to the motel, 'I don't know if I should use supplies on these dead meats.' I thought, looking at them. It would take 2-4 days at least for them to be back in their prime.

I sighed. 'Whatever, I don't have more people,' I concluded, finding no other source of manpower. 'Should've saved Larry. Rude? Sure. But he would do a much better job than these 3 combined.' We soon reached the motel as the sun's rays had begun to shine on it.

Lilly saw me from the RV and signaled someone to open the gate, the gate opened revealing Carley who looked pissed and relieved at the same time.

"Get them bandaged," I said to her.

Carley looked at them cautiously, but her sharp eyes softened when she saw only women in the group and a boy.

"What happened out there? We heard a gunshot," Carley asked as Katjaa took the three inside to fix them up as best as she could. Fortunately, there was no shortage of medical supplies.

"Car crash," I replied.

"How?" Carley looked at their fleeting backs with worry. I shrugged my shoulders. "I wasn't in the car," I said to her.

She frowned and left me standing at the gate. Suddenly, I was hugged by none other than Lilly, who had climbed down from the RV.

"Are you hurt?" she asked with concern etched on her face. Carley stopped in the middle of her march, her jaw clenched and hands forming fists, as she huffed and began to march again.

"The day I get hurt, consider me dead-" She placed a finger on my lips, "Don't say that," she whispered and leaned in and was about to kiss me when.

Kenny showed up and looked uncomfortable seeing our compromising positions, ignoring eye contact. 'Is he two-timing? So what I saw this morning wasn't a dream?' He thought while scratching the back of his head.

Lilly and I parted as Lilly went to her post while glaring at Kenny for ruining the moment. I looked at him. "What is it?" I asked.

"I wanted to ask if you knew those people. I don't think we should be bringing in strangers," Kenny said, glancing at the shut door behind him, which housed the unknown trio.

"I know, but they're just a displaced family like yours," I said to him. Kenny looked guilty as he nodded, "Sorry, I never thought of it that way." "Don't worry."

"By the way, how did you find them?" Kenny asked, curious as there weren't many people alive in Macon.

"Car crashed, probably lost control, and I had to kill their dad." Kenny looked at me, horrified. "That's tough." He shook his head and went off to do his work. "Wait," I stopped him, "Where's Clem?"

"She's in her room, probably asleep." I nodded.

'I should probably find the save lots and clear it out.' I thought, walking upstairs. I knocked on the first door, and it was opened by none other than Carley, "Wesker,"

"Is Clem here?" I asked. Carley nodded. "She's sleeping."

"I'll come back later then," I said, stepping back. "Wait," I stopped, "What?"

"We should talk," Carley said, locking the door behind her, and walked to the edge of the balcony. I followed suit and leaned on the rail.

"Why are you acting like this?"

"Like what?"

"Like you don't love me, like you don't care."

I paused.

"I can only return what has been owed to me."

Carley frowned as she turned to me, ready to yell, but she controlled herself. "So this is what this is? A fucking trade?"

"Trade? No, but I do understand that I broke your heart, and I also think trying to console you wouldn't work. Well, it shouldn't work."

"Did you try?" Her eyes were wet. "Or did you just know, like you know everything else? Do you also know how I prayed that you were right about that girl? But she couldn't make it, she told me to kill her, and you weren't here!" Her voice was louder than before. "You could've done something like you always do. I had to kill her Wesker, I killed a human because you were busy fucking her!" Carley bursts into tears.

Before I could respond the door of the room behind me opened, and from inside Clem walked out with a concerned face, Carley quickly wipes her tears but they were overflowing so she turns away from her, "Clem, go back inside," I said to her, her mouth moves in defiance, "Now."

She goes back inside, closing the door behind her. I turn to Carley, whose tears won't stop flowing, "And you know what the worst part is?" she pauses, "You're probably right."

"Then why do you look so sad?" I grab her arm, pulling her closer as she pulls back, unsurprisingly I win the tug of war, I wrap my arms around her, and she begins to hit my chest, "Let me go!" she repeats these words in frustration.

As minutes pass, I find her embracing me as her words have changed, they are repeated again and again, for me to bear.

"I hate you."

"I hate you."

"I hate…"

But I couldn't…
