Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: The Stomach Battle

"Captain... what should we do now?" Fang Yi held a torch and asked Roger helplessly.

Now they were inside the pitch - black belly of the Island - Devouring Goldfish. There was a strong corrosive smell all around, and Part of the crew, including Rayleigh, were separated from them. The situation couldn't get any worse.

"Let's talk about it after we find Rayleigh and the others!" Roger also felt a bit of a headache. After looking around, he said.

He didn't expect that after the monster opened its mouth, they didn't even have a chance to resist and were directly swallowed in.

The members were separated, and getting out later was also a problem. Once this giant beast returned to the deep sea, they would be dead even if they got out.

But the first thing to do now was still to find Rayleigh and the others.

"We're probably in the stomach of the Island - Devouring Goldfish now. So we have to find Mr. Rayleigh and the others as soon as possible. Otherwise, if we get contaminated by this stomach acid, it'll be really bad! And the Oro Jackson can't stay in this environment for too long either!" Cook Yao Yi carefully observed the surroundings and said.

"But the problem is it's too dark around. We don't have enough visibility to find them! Captain... what should we do?" Renner shook his head and said.

"Fang Yi, try shooting a few signal arrows first. If Rayleigh and the others are also here, they'll definitely see it!" Roger thought for a while and said.

"Okay!" Fang Yi nodded, stuck the torch aside, then directly drew his bow and shot a signal arrow towards the ceiling.

"Bang!" The top of the signal arrow exploded, and everyone took the opportunity to observe the surroundings.

"It seems we're really inside the stomach of the Island - Devouring Goldfish!" Looking at the surrounding stomach walls, Yao Yi sighed and said.

When they heard him, everyone's hearts dropped. How to get out had become the biggest problem now, because the longer they delayed, the lower their chances of survival.

Once the Island - Devouring Goldfish dived, they would have no way out even if they got out.

"Wait... I seem to hear something!" Just then, Jabba frowned and motioned everyone to be quiet. He seemed to have heard something.

"Hey~~~ I'm here~~~"

"It's Taroimo's voice! Over there, let's go!" Roger said excitedly.

"No... Captain, our ship can't move over there at all!" Fang Yi threw the torch outside the ship, and only then did everyone notice that there were debris and wreckage of various buildings everywhere, making it impossible to sail.

"You guys wait here. I'll go and check it out!" Roger frowned and said.

"Wait, Captain! Let Wangzai go!" Fang Yi stopped Roger who was about to set off and said, "Wangzai can move faster, and its vision is better than ours in this environment!"

"That's right! Let Wangzai go!" Jabba beside him also advised.

In this situation, no one knew what would happen if they left the ship. So it was better to send Wangzai than Roger.

Although Roger was more powerful, in this special environment, he couldn't compare with Wangzai!

"Alright then! Wangzai, be careful! When you come back, I'll ask Yao Yi to cook you something delicious!" After thinking for a while, Roger nodded, stroked Wangzai's head, and said with a smile.

"Woof! Woof!" After being stroked by Roger, Wangzai showed a satisfied expression, then barked twice and jumped directly out of the ship.

"Fang Yi, illuminate the way for Wangzai!" Seeing Wangzai leave, Roger said in a deep voice.

"Yes, Captain!" Fang Yi was actually very worried about Wangzai. After all, they had lived together for so long, and Wangzai was no different from his family.

"Whoosh~" A [signal arrow] was shot in the direction where Wangzai had left.

"Bang!"

The [signal arrow] exploded, illuminating the entire path ahead. Vaguely, there seemed to be some figures in the direction where Wangzai was going, and Wangzai quickly jumped from one building exposed above the gastric juice to another, moving towards those figures.

"Fang Yi, keep the illumination going! Rowan, take this opportunity to move the ship closer! The lookout, Golan, report the surrounding situation at any time!" With Rayleigh absent, Jabba began to fulfill his duties and started to assign tasks to the people on the ship.

"Yes!" After receiving the instructions, everyone began to take action. Roger, as the captain, stood at the bow of the Oro Jackson, ready to pick up Wangzai and deal with any unexpected situations.

"Woof... Woof..." Before long, Wangzai's barks and some voices came from that direction, which gradually eased everyone's worried minds.

"Alright, it's not time to relax yet. Move the ship closer!" Jabba shouted a reminder.

"Whoosh~~ Boom!"

The arrow in Fang Yi's hand had changed. It was no longer a [signal arrow] but had become a [fire arrow]. After the [fire arrow] hit the exposed rock, flames immediately blazed on it.

"Fang Yi, why don't you continue using [signal arrows]?" Jabba frowned and asked.

"There aren't many [signal arrows] left. If I keep using them... I'm afraid they won't be enough when needed! After I use [fire arrows] to light those rocks, they can also serve as illumination!" Fang Yi explained with a bitter smile.

The [signal arrows], made by tying signal flares to arrows, were not usually prepared in large quantities. Although there were still some signal flares on the ship, the supply was limited as no one had expected such a situation.

Jabba hesitated for a moment, then nodded and said, "It's better to use them sparingly. After all, we're not outside. We need to consider the air!"

Fang Yi was startled. He hadn't thought of this at all. Burning would consume oxygen, and after changing the air composition in the stomach of the [Island - Devouring Goldfish], although it might still exchange air, no one knew what kind of situation they would encounter then.

Originally, he had planned to light all the rocks along this path, but now he had to give up and only choose to light the rocks at key points to provide the lookout, Golan, with enough visibility.

The Oro Jackson moved forward cautiously, and finally everyone safely picked up the crew members that Wangzai had found.

"Hmm? Where's Rayleigh? Isn't he here?" After the scattered crew members boarded the ship, Roger frowned and asked.

"Mr. Rayleigh went around. He said he wanted to look for any companions who had gotten scattered! We weren't all here at first. It was Mr. Rayleigh who gathered us together!" Taroimo shook his head and said.

"Captain? What should we do now? How about waiting a bit longer? If Mr. Rayleigh saw the signal flare we fired earlier, he should come and join us!" Fang Yi hesitated for a moment and asked.

But Roger shook his head and said, "If Rayleigh saw the signal flare, he would definitely come and join us. Now he's the only one missing! There must be something wrong with him. You wait here. I'll go and check it out! Taroimo, which direction did Rayleigh leave from?"

Taroimo pointed to the left and said, "That way!"

"Okay, you wait here for me!" After saying that, Roger quickly left in the direction Rayleigh had gone.

"Captain, be careful!" Watching Roger leave, the crew couldn't help but shout loudly.

"Teacher Jabba, what should we do now?" Fang Yi let out a breath and asked Jabba, who was thinking about something over there.

"Jabba, do you think we can leave here?" Instead of answering Fang Yi's question, Jabba turned to ask Cook Yao Yi.

Cook Yao Yi shook his head and said, "I know what you're thinking, but that kind of thing... we have to find that place first!"

"It seems we can only do that!" Jabba sighed and said.

Fang Yi's face darkened as he understood what Jabba and Cook Yao Yi were talking about. Since they were already in the stomach, the best way to get out was naturally to let the Island - Devouring Goldfish excrete them out. However, just thinking about that scenario, Fang Yi felt extremely averse to it.

"Brother Yi... Does Teacher Jabba's method mean..." Shanks beside him obviously also thought of it and asked Fang Yi with an ugly face.

Fang Yi nodded reluctantly and whispered, "Don't say it out. We're not even sure if we can get out now. Don't dampen everyone's spirits because of this!"

Shanks nodded and said no more. Although he understood, like Fang Yi, he was also extremely reluctant.

But now it seemed that this was the only way out!

Just when everyone was anxiously waiting, suddenly, an explosion came from the direction where Roger had left.

After looking at each other, everyone showed surprised expressions.

"Wangzai!" After thinking for a while, Fang Yi called out to Wangzai, then directly rode on Wangzai's back and said to Jabba, "Teacher Jabba, let me go and have a look!"

Although Jabba was very worried about letting Fang Yi go, there didn't seem to be a better way at the moment, so he nodded and said, "Then be careful!"

"Wait, Fang Yi, I'll go with you!" Just then, Yamon stood up and said, "I'm a jungle warrior. I'm better than you in this kind of environment!"

"Teacher Yamon, I have Wangzai to take me there. I won't be in danger. You wait here for me!" Fang Yi said with a bitter smile.

In this situation, it was really not suitable to disperse the people.

"Yamon, Fang Yi is right. You should stay here."

Jabba nodded and said something to Yamon.

However, Yamon opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something more. But after Jabba shook his head at her, she fell silent and just walked aside with the wine bottle in hand, apparently a bit unhappy.

Fang Yi gave Jabba a helpless look and then told Wangzai to set off.

"Xiaoyi, safety first! Rayleigh and the captain should be strong enough not to get into danger. You need to protect yourself first!" Watching Fang Yi leave, Jabba shouted loudly.

"Got it!" Fang Yi waved to Jabba with a smile and then quickly moved forward under Wangzai's lead.

When Fang Yi was leaving, Barrett on the deck pursed his lips and remained silent.

As the second - strongest fighter on the ship, second only to Roger, he should have stepped forward at this time. But for some reason, he just didn't say a word.
