Derrick's POV
As Nathan was taken out of my room, I slumped back into the armchair, staring blankly at the door. I didn't know what to think. All I could do was stare blankly at the door where the guards had just dragged him out from.
"You know that what he is saying is true, Derrick. You can't keep blaming him for his father's deeds," my wolf said, and a frown spread across my face. I still can't understand where this spot for Nathan came from.
Just when I tried to respond to him, the door to my chambers was opened, and I frowned, already knowing the one person that would dare to enter my room unannounced was Anita.
The moment Anita stepped into the room, her presence was as loud as ever—despite the silence she walked in with. Her heels clicked softly against the floor, and that damn scent of jasmine and smoke trailed in with her, curling around the tension in the air like it had every right to be there.
