Chapter 27 - -twenty two point two-

-Extra-

The Lysander castle

The next morning, Killa went to the Lysander to clear things up because of the impact of the night before, when she decided to be with her Boss and not her family.

"So, is this how you greet the family?" Germogen asked. She said nothing. "You talked with Darcio?"

"Yes," she said,

"After you did that, he forgave you?" Germogen asked.

"Positive," she said,

"Heh, after a long time, did you come here for some bodyguard?" Germogen smirked a little.

"He isn't some bodyguard to me. Did he deserve this, Father? I thought he was the best of yours," Killa asked with manners.

"...Yes, he was,"

"Was?" Killa repeated what she had heard

Then, someone tall and almost the same size as her Boss entered the father-daughter scene, and she knew who he was.

"Sit down first. I'm talking with my daughter." Germogen told him.

Killa ignored him, "So you let Yeongho in charge of the business now." She asked.

"Yes,"

"In everything?"

"Not everything," Germogen said,

"Seem like it." Killa was being sarcastic with her father.

"What's in your mind, Killa?" The same old favorite question of his.

"The contract between Lysander and Capone is void," Killa said,

"He wanted to control the market...you know that already, and Yeongho, too. Yeongho wanted to cut him off the market, but I don't know for you. The way he did...it caused many problems in the end." Killa spoke her mind as always.

"How come you say that. You left our family, Killa." Germogen said,

"I didn't criticize his work; it was just...trying to stop some problem, regardless of others, because he wanted to end it right away. Is it the leader supposed to do? He has worked for you for a long time. He never failed you even once, and you let him rot in that place to show them that you are heartless. It doesn't mean that you are the supreme one." Killa was obviously upset with him

All the workers in this room were stunned by what she had said.

"Are you sure you do not suit this chair? I don't want to say. I like the way you are mad, kid...and I'm always impressed by the way you solve the problem...how to say...you try to make it work for both parties." Germogen said like he didn't even care what she had said before. "You came all the way here because of one bodyguard. I'm still very amazed, Killa...and you," Germogen said, and suddenly, his eyes glared at the one who was walking inside quietly.

Killa turned to see it was Zadkiel with the eyepatch, and his one arm was hung by his neck.

"You are better than I imagined, Zadkiel," Germogen greeted. "If you are worried so much, why don't you stay here?" Germogen told Killa.

"I came here to say--please, do as the contract says. Ero gave it to you already. I help you only this time." Killa said,

"Now I know why Ero is very obsessed with you.." Germogen still spoke what he wanted to say.

"I have to go..." she said,

"Master..." Zad called her.

"It's up to you if you want to stay with him, but you already saw the way it ended." Killa was not afraid to say it out loud.

Germogen watched them. "How about you take a break, Zadkiel?" he suggested. "Go on a vacation, take your time to recover, and get some fresh air so you can figure out what is on your mind and what you want." He said nothing. "I like you, Zadkiel, and you know already since you work for me, the result of the way we run things. What risks you have to face. You are the strongest I've ever known. Your skills are beyond...but just consider it for Killa's sake and yours."

'For my sake?' Killa thought.

"Supreme, I'm here to say I quit," Zad said,

Killa turned to look at Zad, "If Miss Killa isn't here, I...I'm always honored to be serving you, Supreme, but she will always be the only Master I would like to serve from now on."

Everyone in the room witnessed everything, including the new big guy.

"Haha, I'm so jealous," Germogen laughed. "Fine, if this is what you want. In that honor, you have worked with me for many years."

"Thank you," Zad bowed to his supreme.

Running from the past or even her own self was probably not the best way to find her dream life. The past was running after her sarcastic, vicious, tiny back; sooner or later, it strangled her and scratched her back. To make it more precise, it was her family. Killa went after her almost normal path with a man named Eamon, whom she called her Boss, who held his secrets to the dear grave that Killa would never know. While holding hands together, hoping for higher, precious, invisible beings to not let them slip. They both hope and pray that the old past does not take each other away or follow them to their new present.
