By the time Max returned to the main city, it was almost morning, so he decided to have a morning run to clear his head.
Because of his enhanced physique, he could run faster and longer than mundane people, but he could still get tired after pushing his limits.
That limit was apparently twenty kilometres without stopping, as by the time he made it back to the Moonshine Inn, sweat was rolling down his body like a river coming down from the mountains.
As he entered the Inn, he found Melissa serving breakfast to a couple of elderly customers. Her smile seemed to brighten up everyone's day, as every customer thanked her for her services with a smile on their faces.
She quickly noticed him and called him over with a strange glint in her eyes. His lips twitched, remembering what she had planned, but he couldn't bring himself to get over it.
