Chapter 78 - EPISODE 78: “Echoes of the Squad”

---

Black Squad – Episode 78

Title: "Echoes of the Squad"

(As the past resurfaces, Black Squad must defend not just themselves—but everyone they've ever loved.)

---

[COLD OPEN – FLASHBACK | 2017 | TRAINING CAMP – KASHMIR]

A younger Zoya Khan wrestles with a training dummy, repeatedly failing a maneuver.

Across from her, Major Advait Rana (Raaka) watches silently. Then steps in.

RAAKA (firm but kind):

"Strength isn't in muscle. It's in focus."

He demonstrates the move, then hands her a bottle of water.

RAAKA:

"Remember this. You're not just joining a squad. You're joining a family."

CUT TO BLACK.

PRESENT DAY — Zoya stares at an old Black Squad photo. Her hand trembles slightly.

---

ACT 1: No One is Safe

Mumbai – 7:00 AM

Reet receives a distress call: her brother, a university student, has been abducted.

Danish's mother is assaulted in Lucknow.

Arjun's fiancée is nearly run over in Delhi.

Zoya's old mentor, a retired cop, is found dead — poisoned.

One by one, the squad's personal connections are under attack.

IMRAN (furious):

"He's going after our families."

QAZI:

"He's not just fighting us. He's unmaking who we are."

---

ACT 2: Echo Chambers

The squad splits up in emergency teams:

Zoya and Imran rush to rescue Reet's brother, held in an abandoned metro tunnel rigged with motion sensors.

Danish and Arjun go dark to move their loved ones to a hidden location.

Qazi meets an old psychiatrist contact, Dr. Sameer, for a dangerous psychological dive into Raaka's file.

DR. SAMEER:

"You're trying to predict a man who has no lines left to cross. Your mistake was assuming he still wants to win."

---

ACT 3: The Tunnel Trap

Inside the metro tunnel, Zoya disarms a grenade with trembling hands while Imran disables a thermal sensor using a reflective blade.

They find Reet's brother alive — but the tunnel collapses behind them as Raaka appears briefly in a flicker of strobe lights.

He leaves only one message, scratched in the wall:

> "One by one. Burn their roots."

---

ACT 4: The Regret

Back in the safehouse, Qazi gathers the team.

He reveals the truth he's buried for years:

QAZI:

"In Myanmar… I didn't just court-martial Raaka. I made a call that cost civilians their lives. I lied to the press. To the ministry. Even to you. That was the first compromise. And every lie after that… it started with me."

Silence. No judgment. Just raw truth.

Zoya:

"You taught us to stand for what's right. Not to be perfect."

The team rededicates itself. They vow not just to survive—but to expose Raaka and Virk together.

---

ACT 5: Dawnfire Begins

The Squad prepares "Operation Dawnfire" — a two-phase strike:

Phase 1: Extract a hard drive from a black site in Gwalior, containing Raaka's psychological reconditioning logs.

Phase 2: Leak the video confession of Qazi admitting to his past, along with evidence against Virk, before Virk can silence them.

Meanwhile…

Major Raaka gears up with a flame-etched combat axe.

He whispers to his men:

> "Let them light their dawn. I'll bring them the night."

---

[FINAL SCENE – MONTAGE]

Zoya training silently in a dark room, loading weapons.

Arjun burning old squad patches.

Imran staring at the Falcon Archive.

Qazi alone, listening to an old recording of Sulaiman Qazi's father, a martyred freedom fighter.

Raaka sharpening his blade — and smiling for the first time.

---

NEXT EPISODE TEASE — EPISODE 79: "The Gwalior Break"

Full mission mode.

Squad infiltrates the black site under military lockdown.

Qazi and Raaka finally speak — face to face, with fire between them.

Someone won't make it back.
