For the remainder of the week, the team of 'The Glow Of Hua Hua' fleshed out the script and glossed it over till it was as shiny as the original, with even more dazzle and twinkle.
Fu Yuan tried to drag them to one more Karaoke on the weekend, but they all made up excuses.
Suddenly Director JJ was married and had a wife waiting for him at home. Miss Li was supposedly going to pick up her "nephew."
SB complained of a voice burnout, and the others just flat out said no. Gu Wei himself smiled apologetically and offered his basic reason, he couldn't sing.
Fu Yuan accepted their rudeness with a pout and promised to take them clubbing while filming.
Miss Li paled and packed her things in the blink of an eye, with Gu Wei right behind her.
The karaoke was fun, but they all wouldn't do such a thing again for a year at least.
By the time filming began, in the same HHE building, Gu Wei was a part of the group like he'd been there from the very beginning.
Also, maybe it was Gu Wei's imagination, but Miss Li had calmed her rapid fact-dropping and switched to clipped words, not easier, but acceptable for Gu Wei.
The plan was to film the indoor scenes in HHE's studio and then move to a location for the outdoor scenes.
All this wasn't Gu Wei's concern. All he waited impatiently for was to finally see Fu Yuan in action.
A once-in-a-lifetime experience Gu Wei could tuck into his accomplishment as a fan.
He must've done something right all these years to be allowed the opportunity to experience such ascension.
Gu Wei had been blessed with getting to know Fu Yuan Jie these past few days too. And he noticed so many differences in her quirks and moods than seeing them on screen.
First, Fu Yuan Jie was a very physical person, and the words 'personal space' weren't in her vocabulary.
She was always holding Gu Wei's hand or draping her arm over his shoulders like they were best buddies.
Gu Wei had been uncomfortable for the first few moments, but now, he just blushed and ducked his head, something Fu Yuan always teased him about.
My fan's so shy, how come I'm blessed with such a cute fan?? I'm so lucky.
Gu Wei wondered how she'd never had a dating scandal up till now.
Secondly, Fu Yuan was much more talkative than he'd thought, and Gu Wei had heard her voice too many times now, it would probably wake him up from the dead.
The third thing was a bit of a problem, and Gu Wei had called her out on it, but she never stopped.
Fu Yuan was always playing with his hair whenever she got the chance, which was mostly when they were seated, and Fu Yuan made sure to always be next to him.
One time Gu Wei had successfully managed to squeeze himself next to Miss Li, but Fu Yuan had frowned and exchanged seats with the woman.
Gu Wei had accepted his fate and stopped struggling to get away.
There was no point to it.
Other things Gu Wei noticed were how she always spread her arms out on any seat she occupied, like her own personal throne, and how her perfume changed based on the days of the week.
She had told Gu Wei this herself, and it was true. She indeed changed her perfume every day.
Naturally, Gu Wei was elated to learn new things about his Jie Jie, and he excitedly went to share with the other petals after a permission certificate from Fu Yuan, which she said permitted him to share any form of information about her, including the photos they'd taken on Karaoke night.
Photos where Gu Wei was as awkward and stiff as a board. Even his smile was wooden-like.
Still, Gu Wei shared them with his babies, simply stating that he'd met Fu Yuan coincidentally.
He could've used the campaign as cover, but that seemed like a feasible excuse.
The fans' reactions had been golden.
They'd gone from praising him to venting their jealousy, then praising him again.
One even went as far as to comment that Gu Wei meeting Fu Yuan would bring good fortune and many, many red packets.
Gu Wei had eyed the comment, then checked his account balance.
Yeah, right.
The only good fortune Gu Wei had was Fu Yuan's presence. He could only hope it would rub off on him and he'd have at least half-a-quarter of Fu Yuan's fortune.
In the meantime, Gu Wei was nurturing on ramen and secretly nibbling on Ha Xing's dishes.
That would suffice for now.
At the present moment, Gu Wei had successfully stolen one or two bites from the food Ha Xing had left in the fridge and was now sprawled out on the same couch he'd been having a crisis on a few days ago, texting the same person he'd been having a crisis on before.
Surprisingly, Zhai Mei had taken the initiative and sent a message to Gu Wei, which he was exceedingly glad for.
If he hadn't seen Zhai Mei's text that night when he got home, he would have missed the countless glorious conversations he and Zhai Mei had.
Gu Wei had learned a bunch of new things about this new friend of his and also realised they had a lot in common.
Zhai Mei had a notepad, Gu Wei also had a notepad. Zhai Mei hated the snow, Gu Wei also hated the snow.
Although for completely different reasons. Zhai Mei's being the coldness of it after melting, and Gu Wei because it was too white and hurt his eyes.
These two people weren't being honest, as they both hated snow, not because of the fickle excuses of wetness and whiteness.
But for a deeper reason.
They both didn't realize this, but they both despised snow for the same reasons.
The two souls had gone through similar moments of abandonment on a snowy day, and both disliked snow as an accomplice of the crime.
But Gu Wei and Zhai Mei were just getting to know each other, and bitter truths had no place in their sweet interactions.
Interactions such as the one Gu Wei was typing fervently to.
Gu Wei: Where did you get such curly hair?
Zhai Mei: From the market, they sell it in US dollars.
Gu Wei: . . .
Zhai Mei: 😂From my mom, she has curly hair like me.
Gu Wei: I see… Wait, your mom has curly hair like you? Seriously?
Zhai Mei: Yes, we look the same from the back. It's so weird. I had to straighten it when I was in school 'cause people kept mistaking her for me and me for her. I don't know where I got the energy to wake up every day at 5 and straighten before school😭.
Gu Wei: …I think I met your mum. And you woke up at five for that every day?!😂 I should kowtow.
Zhai Mei: I know😭, bow for the hair master. What do you mean you met my mom?
Gu Wei: 🙇♂️ Uhhh… well, so one day I thought it was you, but it wasn't you.
Zhai Mei: Hmmm… very vague. You didn't chase after her, did you?
Gu Wei: …No
Zhai Mei: You did!🤣 You thought it was me! What did she say?
Gu Wei: I bowed a hundred times, and she said not to worry. She's a very nice person.
Zhai Mei: I'm going to ask her about this, just to confirm if you truly did meet my mom. That would be so funny😂
Gu Wei: Don't tell anyone though. It's too embarrassing.
Zhai Mei: Okay okay, I'll only tell your grandmother.
Gu Wei: No! Please don't… You know my Nana…?
Zhai Mei: Yes, I do.
One thing Gu Wei also noticed about Zhai Mei was that she knew everything about him, and it was always the smallest thing.
That his favorite color was red, the name of his college, his full name, his date of birth, and that he had a Nana.
Gu Wei is typing…
Gu Wei: How do you know so much about me? Are you a stalker??
Zhai Mei: I am a stalker, yes. Took you long enough to realize.
Gu Wei: No wonder I feel eyes on my back every time. Am I safe?
Zhai Mei: He he he, you're asking your stalker that?
Gu Wei: 🥲Zhai Mei…
Zhai Mei is typing…
Something landed on Gu Wei's back, and he scowled at his phone as another, then another, connected with his spine.
After about 10 strikes, the attack stopped.
Gu Wei didn't look up from his phone and continued his conversation with Zhai Mei like nothing had happened.
He heard a sigh over his head, then another paper hit him again.
Still scowling at his phone, Gu Wei tightened his arms around the pillow under his chin and ignored the person.
Another sigh and Master Ha Xing couldn't take it anymore. "My god! Are you going to ignore me for the rest of your life?!"
