Chapter 3: The First Hunt
Ricardo shook Leon awake. "Get up. We have work to do."
Leon groaned, pulling the blanket over his head. "Just let me sleep a little longer..."
Ricardo sighed. "I'll be waiting downstairs."
After lazily getting dressed, Leon made his way down. His eyes landed on the mission board, where a simple task was displayed: Hunt 3 Wild Boars - Reward: 1 Silver Coin.
Leon's eyes lit up. "With this, I can finally buy some new clothes!"
They set off toward the forest, walking along a dirt path while Leon chatted with Ricardo. "So, who exactly are you? Do you have a family?"
Ricardo's expression darkened for a brief moment before he coldly replied, "That doesn't concern you."
Sensing Ricardo's reluctance, Leon didn't press further. Soon, they spotted their first wild boar.
In an instant, Ricardo vanished and reappeared behind the creature. With a swift slash of his silver sword, the beast collapsed lifelessly.
Leon's jaw dropped. "Hey! You didn't even give me a chance!"
Ricardo smirked. "We're here to complete the mission, not waste time."
Leon pouted but stayed alert for the next target. After some searching, they found another boar.
"This one's mine!" Leon declared.
Ricardo crossed his arms. "Fine. Show me what you've got."
Leon focused, extending his hand forward. A small flame flickered into existence before erupting into a Fireball.
With a loud boom, the fireball struck the boar, sending it tumbling backward.
Leon stared at his hand in amazement. "Whoa… that was awesome!"
Just then, a translucent screen appeared before him.
[System Notification: You have reached Level 2. Fireball skill has leveled up!]
Leon's eyes sparkled with excitement, but Ricardo simply moved on, swiftly taking down the third boar.
With the hunt complete, they returned to town and received their silver coin.
Ricardo handed it to Leon, but before he could take it, Ricardo smirked and said, "You need proper clothes first."
Leon blinked. "Huh?"
Moments later, they stood inside a tailor shop. Ricardo tossed a set of new clothes at him.
"Consider it an investment. You can't walk around looking like a lost villager forever."
Leon smiled sheepishly. "Thanks, I guess."
With their errand complete, they made their way back to Ricardo's home.
