The azure sky was clear, and the bright moon hung high in the night.
Sword Douluo sat alone in a small grove outside Shrek Academy, immersed in cultivation.
At the Super Douluo level, progress no longer depended solely on relentless training but required deepening one's understanding of their martial soul. Such enlightenment could take decades to achieve.
Even so, years of habit kept Chen Xin committed to daily cultivation sessions.
He had witnessed everything Tang Hao had done earlier.
If a Title Douluo masked their presence, others wouldn't detect them unless they carefully scanned with spiritual power.
Chen Xin felt indifferent about Tang Hao's brutal beating of Zhao Wuji—he neither intervened nor approved.
"No wonder he's been out of touch for so many years. To act so arrogantly against weaker opponents truly disgraces the name of the Hao Tian Sect."
In Chen Xin's view, while Zhao Wuji's test may have seemed unfair due to the disparity in strength, he hadn't used excessive force. Tang San's injury was entirely self-inflicted—his reckless attack rebounded and harmed him.
Having no descendants of his own, Chen Xin naturally felt a grandfatherly affection toward Ning Rongrong.
Initially, he had considered refusing this mission, but given the precarious position of the Seven Treasures Glazed Sect, he ultimately complied with Ning Fengzhi's arrangements.
Gazing at the moon, Chen Xin sighed.
"How boring. I wonder when an opponent worthy of my sword will appear."
Suddenly, his expression changed, and he quickly stood up, only to realize his surroundings had completely transformed.
"Who's there!" Chen Xin demanded, summoning his Seven Kill Sword immediately.
His two yellow, two purple, and five black soul rings radiated the unmistakable aura of a Title Douluo.
With his mastery of spiritual power, Chen Xin could discern that everything around him was real—he had been teleported into another space.
"I never expected anyone besides Old Bones to possess such strange spatial abilities on the Douluo Continent," Chen Xin thought silently.
But the prolonged silence unnerved even a powerful Title Douluo like him. He shouted loudly, "Show yourself!"
A surge of killing intent erupted—this was the innate domain of the Seven Kill Sword, the Seven Kill Domain. However, activating this domain required Title Douluo-level strength. Its killing intent amplified one's power while suppressing opponents below their level by up to 90%.
*Clap, clap, clap.*
"Indeed, hailed as the strongest offensive weapon-type martial soul on the Douluo Continent—your presence is truly formidable."
Ye Wen slowly emerged from the shadows, his tall figure appearing especially mysterious under the moonlight.
Chen Xin had always been absorbed in cultivation, paying no heed to sect affairs or intelligence on the continent. Even during their brief encounter years ago, he hadn't spared Ye Wen a second glance. After so many years, Ye Wen's demeanor had changed, making him unrecognizable to Chen Xin.
Instead of attacking, Chen Xin narrowed his eyes and asked gravely,
"Who are you, and why have you brought me here?"
Seeing this, Ye Wen shook his head in disappointment and addressed Chen Xin.
"Sword Douluo, you've been stuck at level 96 for a long time. Haven't you realized why you can't break through?"
"That's none of your concern. Please state your purpose quickly, or I'll be forced to act."
Such impatience. With that, Ye Wen saw no need for further pleasantries and revealed his soul rings.
Upon seeing the minimum 100,000-year soul rings, Chen Xin's eyes widened. His nine soul rings now seemed like mere fireflies beneath the bright moon.
However, Chen Xin quickly suspected it might be an illusion-type soul skill. He focused his spiritual power into his eyes, straining to see through the deception.
"It's futile, Sword Douluo Chen Xin. Everything before you is real. I have already ascended to the position of Sea God. I've come today to ask for your assistance in a matter."
With that, Ye Wen unleashed his divine pressure, pressing down on Chen Xin.
The overwhelming force instantly weighed Chen Xin down, forcing him to kneel halfway. He couldn't even hold onto his Seven Kill Sword, which plunged into the ground.
"This… this…"
The pressure was undeniably real, evoking memories of his younger, weaker self facing his father.
As vast as an abyss, as oppressive as a prison—
Yet he was now a Super Douluo. Could this person before him truly be a god?
Ye Wen watched Chen Xin indifferently. This pressure was less than half of his full might—a deliberate show of restraint. After all, Ye Wen hadn't come to humiliate Sword Douluo; this visit was for cooperation.
After a moment, Ye Wen withdrew the pressure.
"Do you believe me now?"
Chen Xin fell silent for a moment, then retracted his martial soul. Bowing respectfully, he said, "I greet you, Sea God. What is it you seek from me?"
Ye Wen glanced at this legendary descendant of the continent. Though the Seven Kill Sword remained, its former glory was dimmed.
"I require the Seven Treasures Glazed Sect to submit to me."
Though the person before him was a god, such a demand still left Chen Xin's face pale as he replied, "I have no authority to decide for the Seven Treasures Glazed Sect. May I return to consult our sect leader?"
This response only deepened Ye Wen's disappointment.
"You've fallen far, Chen Xin.
Facing a god like me, do you think the Seven Treasures Glazed Sect has the right to refuse? You should have agreed immediately. It seems the comfortable life of the sect hasn't just robbed you of your determination to reach the pinnacle of the sword path—it's also dulled your ability to assess situations.
Someone like you doesn't deserve to strive for higher realms."
Chen Xin's face darkened. For a proud warrior, having his past efforts dismissed was a naked humiliation.
Despite years of cultivating patience, he couldn't endure this. Summoning his Seven Kill Sword, he unleashed the Seven Kill Domain, his eyes brimming with murderous intent as he stared at Ye Wen.
"Please—grant—me—your—guidance!"
Now this was more interesting. Ye Wen stood calmly, beckoning with a crooked finger.
"Come~"
"First Soul Skill—Sword's Edge!
Seventh Soul Skill—True Body of the Seven Kills!
Ninth—Soul—Skill—Divine and Demonic Dual Slash!"
In an instant, Chen Xin amplified himself to his peak state. Accompanied by the massive Seven Kill Sword, he soared into the clouds, hovering high above as he gazed down at Ye Wen.
Ye Wen was somewhat disappointed in Chen Xin's soul skills.
Only one amplification-type skill? Presumably, the rest were technique-based skills. For the so-called strongest offensive weapon-type martial soul on the Douluo Continent, such a soul ring configuration was pitiful.
Still, within the Seven Kill Domain, the augmented True Body of the Seven Kills exuded a chilling sword qi that even excited Ye Wen at his level.
