"Xiao San, do you perhaps have another martial soul?"
Though this assumption was incorrect, Yu Xiaogang had accidentally hit the nail on the head.
This was Tang San's second-biggest secret, surpassed only by his memories of his past life. Before coming to school, Tang Hao had strictly warned him never to reveal his second martial soul.
A flicker of killing intent flashed in Tang San's eyes. This secret was of utmost importance and could not be divulged under any circumstances. He was tempted to flick out a hidden sleeve arrow.
However, realizing that the other party's cultivation level was undoubtedly high, Tang San suppressed his restless left hand and feigned confusion as he replied,
"No? Teacher, doesn't everyone only have one martial soul?"
Yu Xiaogang was a stubborn man. Instead of immediately refuting Tang San's claim, he cast an approving glance at his newly acquired disciple.
"Xiao San, it's good that you're being cautious about hiding your secrets. However, if your innate ten-level soul power is tied solely to this green vine martial soul, it would be utterly unreasonable. Therefore, I boldly hypothesize that you must possess another martial soul.
Such special cases of twin martial souls aren't unheard of. The current Pope, Bibi Dong, is an unparalleled genius with twin martial souls.
Moreover, you've already become my disciple. Naturally, I wouldn't harbor any ulterior motives toward you. Show me your second martial soul."
Yu Xiao Gang sighed emotionally, "Never did I imagine that in my lifetime, I'd take in a disciple with twin martial souls. Heaven has truly been kind to me."
Tang San was awestruck by Yu Xiaogang's vast knowledge and felt a twinge of shame for doubting his teacher. Apologizing profusely, he revealed his Hao Tian Hammer.
Yu Xiao Gang, who had been smug just moments ago, instantly lost his composure upon seeing the Hao Tian Hammer.
Seeing his teacher so shocked, Tang San instinctively asked, "Teacher, do you know what kind of hammer martial soul this is?"
Instead of answering directly, Yu Xiaogang asked Tang San, "Xiao San, what are your parents' names?"
Trusting Yu Xiao Gang completely, Tang San answered without suspicion, "My father is a blacksmith in the village named Tang Hao. As for my mother, I don't know. My father has never told me about her."
Yu Xiaogang's heart was filled with both shock and fear. So, this child was truly the son of the Hao Tian Douluo.
But now was not the time to confront him. Yu Xiaogang decided to play coy and said,
"In that case, you should ask your father about this martial soul. All I can say is that it holds a great secret. If your father doesn't wish to speak of it, I cannot reveal it prematurely. My apologies, Xiao San."
Tang San nodded in understanding and felt even more respect for his teacher, who showed such consideration for his father.
Finally, Yu Xiaogang sent Tang San off to his dormitory.
After Tang San left, Yu Xiaogang's expression darkened, and he inwardly cursed,
"Damn it! I thought I'd stumbled upon an unparalleled genius who could bolster the foundation of my Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, allowing me to return to my family in glory.
To think he's the son of the Hao Tian Douluo! This won't do—I must report them to the Spirit Hall immediately, or else…"
Just as Yu Xiao Gang prepared to leave for the Spirit Hall to report Tang San and Tang Hao, an invisible pressure descended, compressing the air in the room like liquid seawater, leaving Yu Xiaogang gasping for breath.
By now, Yu Xiaogang's heart was filled with dread, and he had already guessed the source of this pressure.
Though rumors of Ning Fengzhi's alliance with the three great clans had spread, Yu Xiaogang dismissed them with disdain.
The Hao Tian Sect was nothing but bad luck—anyone who got involved with them suffered. The Spirit Hall had explicitly targeted the Hao Tian Sect. If he were implicated through his connection with Tang Hao, his Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan—with only one Title Douluo—would face disaster. He'd become the eternal sinner of his family.
"Long time no see, Dr. Yu. Where are you rushing off to?"
Draped in a black robe, Tang Hao flew into the room through Yu Xiaogang's window, exuding an overwhelming presence.
Forcing a strained smile onto his face, Yu Xiao Gang respectfully greeted him, "Greetings, Lord Hao Tian."
However, Tang Hao didn't respond. Instead, he coldly stared at Yu Xiaogang and asked, "Dr. Yu, were you planning to report us father and son to the Spirit Hall?"
Yu Xiaogang inwardly cursed. Damn it! This Tang Hao must have been tailing his son all along, exposing all of his scheming thoughts.
Still, Yu Xiaogang decided to take a gamble. Tang Hao had allowed Tang San to attend school, so he likely wouldn't resort to outright murder and risk exposing himself.
"How could that be, Lord Tianheng? I was merely planning to prepare some study materials for Xiao San."
A disdainful smirk curled Tang Hao's lips as he said, "Drop the act. I know full well you were planning to report us.
But think carefully—if you dare report me, I'll take it out on your clan's old dragon."
Cold sweat poured down Yu Xiaogang's back. Though Yu Yuanzhen had once trounced the Hao Tian Duo when they were still Soul Douluos, that was before Tang Hao's current strength.
Nowadays, Tang Hao was far stronger than ever. He had already killed a Super Douluo—the former Pope—and after all these years, his power had only grown. Yu Yuanzhen wouldn't stand a chance against him.
This completely pinned Yu Xiaogang into a corner.
"Rest assured, Your Excellency. I won't do anything rash," Yu Xiaogang forced a strained smile as he replied.
At this moment, Tang Hao retracted his oppressive aura and spoke in a low voice, "I know what you're thinking, but I don't care.
Your task now is to help cultivate Xiao San's first martial soul. Once Xiao San is ready to absorb a ten-thousand-year soul ring, I hope you'll find a solution to prevent his body from exploding while absorbing soul rings for his second martial soul.
If you succeed, you'll achieve fame and glory. And if Xiao San's Hao Tian Hammer is exposed later, you can always pretend you didn't know he was my son to distance yourself.
I trust you won't be ungrateful?"
As Tang Hao spoke, the oppressive aura he had previously withdrawn surged forth again, causing Yu Xiaogang to break into a cold sweat.
Outwardly, however, Yu Xiaogang feigned complete agreement. "Thank you for your trust, Your Excellency. I will certainly nurture Xiao San well."
Seeing his intimidation had worked, Tang Hao nodded in satisfaction and vanished from the room.
Watching the terrifying figure finally leave, Yu Xiaogang let out a sigh of relief.
Though his mind was filled with venomous curses toward Tang Hao, he dared not show it outwardly. After all, he knew how exaggerated a Title Douluo's spiritual power could be. Ordinary soul masters couldn't see through the disguise of a hundred-thousand-year soul beast in human form, but a Title Douluo could pierce through it with a single glance.
Who knew if Tang Hao, this sneaky old fox, was still lurking somewhere in the academy?
