Chapter 4 - Cultivation Begins

Kaida would've turned to Osami who looked a little- Scared? But it wasn't directed to Kaida, no it was behind her. A dark figure stood which followed them through the shadows, as soon as the figure spoke Mara turned to face them.

"Who are you, and what are you doing with my daughter?"

"I'm simply talking with her, am I not allowed to befriend someone?"

The man looked irritated with what Kaida said with him trying to keep his cool from something which wasn't even an insult. Yet his anger got the best of him.

"No- Clearly you aren't trustworthy if you lie so much, and your clothing is completely indecent, it doesn't even cover every inch of your body including your f-"

"Including my face? Are you expecting me to do that when I haven't seen anyone else do the same? Not even those who I can consider the same age as you are doing that, I expect someone of your status to be a little smarter than that. About lying, what proof do you have that I've lied? You haven't met me before this at all, so I can clearly tell you're trying to make something up."

Though this man was stronger than Kaida she didn't hesitate in talking back, she was confident in the fact she could beat them in a battle even if they were ten or a hundred times stronger than Osami. But she wasn't fully sure if she could a hundred percent beat them for her she had a high probability of beating someone like him who clearly had no experience with the little damage on his body and practically zero wearing down of his body.

"I- Ugh, fine you can be friends with my daughter, but don't think I trust you, I'm not stupid like other people might be, You're just here to leech off my daughter and her money like everyone else has tried to do."

Kaida let out a chuckle, but he had some reasonable suspicion but to do it right from the start was stupid, they would obviously try doing it later on if they were actually trying to use her for money, so this was only going to delay it even further or use other ways to get it from her which wouldn't seem suspicious.

"I'm unable to change the mind of someone too ignorant to understand."

Her voice remained monotone as she spoke while she could see him fuming, the only thing holding him back was the fact his daughter was here and that he shouldn't be losing face in front of her. Yet she showed no sign of anger or happiness from what was happening, it was extremely frustrating for him.

"I'll be taking my leave in a while, I need to do other things anyways."

She waved at him as Osami grabbed her hands and took her to the bedroom. Though she showed no malice or anger but instead excitement, she didn't know why they felt like this, it was weird at least to Kaida.

"That was... So COOL!! I haven't seen someone stand up to my father other than the princesses and Princes!"

For Kaida it was obvious this was a monarchy and this only solidified it, but by the looks of it they were doing extremely good even with how some of them acted from her first impression, But she still had things in her mind, she didn't know how this world worked, and she wanted to know just incase something actually dire came up.

"I feel like it'd be normal if you were confident with stopping someone, But going off that, I need to know more about this world, I don't think I've told you but my memory has become worse in a body like this, so I'm not from this world-"

"HUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHH!?"

Kaida thought she got a little loud but it was a normal reaction when someone she just met reveals something like that, it would've been shocking for her too if she found someone from another world.

"Okay- Please calm down, could you at least explain what is going on in this world since I only know Cultivation exists from stories written by humans for their fantasies."

This was a complete lie, she already knew other worlds existed she just wanted to find herself to be more normal in other peoples eyes instead of continuing to be like this.

"I- Okay, I'm calm, Don't know why you've told me this of all people, but sure i'll tell you how it works."

Though her explanations became ramblings Kaida listened to every single word keeping it in mind, the method of cultivation, their realms, and what can be done with it, the off set of cultivation for weaponry though being in a trainee to a grandmaster instead of realms like physical cultivation.

"Okay I think you can stop now, I've got the hang of it, I'll just have to start my cultivation afterwards since I wish not to disturb you with it."

"Wait- If you haven't cultivated yet, and you fought me...."

She sat there in stunned silence for a second before turning away with her head facing her knees clearly sulking murmuring to herself about losing to someone without cultivation so easily.

"Hey... Hey! Calm down remember I'm from another world, I'm stronger in a way which you wouldn't expect me to be stronger, that's all"

She turned towards Kaida still sulking though she didn't look the best, her face showing a generic frown with a sprinkle of exaggeration, though Kaida herself didn't show much. She left a flat expression which showed very little emotion making her words sound and seem less genuine.

"Are you sure...?"

"Yes, I'm sure about that, now please turn towards me and show me how exactly you cultivate?"

"Okay- But don't expect me to listen twice in a row! Oh? Well starting off you can go absorbing the energy around you, think of it as breathing in the air around you and keep calm, if you can't hear yourself in your head then that means you're successfully doing it. The more stable your breathing is the faster you absorb it. I'll notify you when an hour passes which is the amount of time needed to get to the final stage of the first realm, but- It only gets harder from there since you need to kill beasts and gain experience to get stronger, though experience isn't like this novels people read to satiate their fantasies..."

She continued speaking lost in thought of the explanation of how cultivation worked, she was keen on explaining about it and Kaida herself didn't mind it, she listened to every word intently like a parent listening to their child. By the time Osami finished her explanation she realized how much she rambled, but instead of seeing the person stop her or just leave all she witnessed was Kaida still sitting there with a smile, one genuine. Even her father never listened to her intense rambling and interest in cultivation.

"Go on! I'm not bored from your interests, I've heard of it from my world but I've never seen it in person, you seem to love it and I'm not here to be some sort of party pooper and ruin your day by leaving or telling you to stop."

Osami was stuck in silence, for a moment she found someone who was actually caring about her, someone who cared for her interests.

"Well I feel like it's time for me to begin cultivation, is there any place where I'd have the most peace and quiet?"

"I guess any sort of Mountain, granted it's not near the place where all Royalty lives then you'll be fine to go there, otherwise they use that place to train. It's easy to notice, about five mountains down from the castle would be enough!"

"Thanks Osami, I'll be going now."

In a flash she disappeared, though leaving a gift of what looked like a wooden tablet- Kaida in a few minutes of travelling reached across the city too the outside of it, the mountains towering over the buildings making them look miniscule, she made sure to see how far away she was from the Castle but considering she wasn't near it she would've expected it to be a breeze especially without disturbances.

Breathing in the air I felt what I'd assume was Mana, the odorless blue hue danced around my body slowly seeping into my body, I'd assume this was the best way to deal with it, with how slow it was any other method would take in too much and harm the body. And too little would take too much time, but there had to be some more efficient way to absorb this Mana. Though she didn't completely understand how it worked she got a small gist of it, though it was harder she tried absorbing the Mana through her body, it would've been painful for the average human or even cultivator, like a thousand needles poking through the skin injecting itself deeper into the roots of her body. It spread through her like a Virus, yet it wasn't harmful, though the impure Mana flew through the air and in the roots of the ground, only if the Mana became purified would she be able to reach a realm beyond what she knew as of right now.

A faint voice spoke, it slowly got louder like drums approaching her while in a parade.

"Hey! You know you aren't allowed here right? This is royal territory!"

Kaida turned to the voice, A crisp masculine tone of someone who probably wasn't a day over sixteen. She saw his lofty posture, she could only stay silent before getting up, turning away from him she would've went to move away from the mountains.

"Wh- You can't just go like that! You need to be punished-"

"Look, I'm not here to deal with some child with an attitude akin to a spoiled brat who can't get his way, I'm going to continue what I was doing but I'm not really sure if this is royal territory considering I've seen multiple people use it before. So please shut up I'm not keen in hearing a dying crow talk to me all day."

The insult left him a little stunned for just a moment but that was enough to have Kaida already leave, he looked around to see any trace of her, though he could smell the feeling of burnt flesh, Like a sickly sweet aroma, He looked around and noticed the ground sizzling from where she was originally seated.

"That- Shouldn't be possible..."

The ground itself was filled with Mana making it practically impossible to burn unless it was flames made of Pure Mana, of which only a select few had. Yet these people rarely went out, let alone cultivated like she was. It was perplexing for him, he clearly didn't recognize her as one of them since he met all of them from childhood. Unless there was another one which was to appear.

{"Children can be so annoying sometimes..."}

Kaida thought to herself, she didn't usually dislike children, but teenagers like him who were still comparable to toddlers were annoying at best to deal with, but considering he's even worse since he's royalty only made her more repulsed, hoping that someone in the family wouldn't be as annoying or irritating to even breathe around.

Landing on top of a rock she saw the lush forests, their clean and untainted form made her breathe in, The trees seemed never ending and their sizes were incomprehensible, larger than any tree would be on earth, but it wasn't something she disliked, Sitting down she found it best to cultivate here, while the Mana was still impure that was always the case in a world like this. Her breathing became hasty as she felt the Mana rush through her body, it filled every corner of her blood vessels, her bone structures, the marrow and every organ she had-
