Three days later, Ava received an excited call from Stella.
"Ava! Great news! After a unanimous vote from all the experts on site, you've been chosen to continue restoring Hermit in the Mountains! It's a masterpiece by William Moore, one of the four great art masters of the 18th century! Aren't you excited?"
Ava responded calmly, "When do we start?"
There was a pause on the other end. "That's it? That's your reaction?"
Ava raised an eyebrow slightly. "What kind of reaction were you expecting?"
Stella raised her voice, "Do you even know what this means? You beat out top restoration experts from eighteen museums across the country! Those are seasoned veterans in their forties and fifties, and you're only twenty-three! Shouldn't you be jumping up and down, clapping, screaming or something?"
Ava chuckled softly, "Would that help?"
Stella was speechless for a moment and sighed, "How's your left hand? Will it affect the restoration?"
