Zack's heart slammed against his chest.
"No, no, no—" he muttered, gripping his head. Then suddenly, as if the panic cleared his mind, something clicked.
"Wait," Zack said, almost to himself. He stepped back from the corridor, brows furrowed deep. "Something's off. I... I made a mistake."
Jake, halfway through celebrating, turned. "What do you mean?"
Zack looked up, his eyes locking with Jake's. "The sequence. It wasn't black before yellow—it was yellow before black. I mixed them up."
There was a beat of silence. Even the lights overhead seemed to hum louder in response.
Everyone turned to him, stunned.
Zack ran a hand down his face, his voice urgent now. "I messed up. I gave you the wrong order, Jake. That was on me."
Jake stepped back fully onto the violet tile, brows furrowed. "You sure?"
