Chapter 60 - THREAT

Ace wrapped his arms around Lucien, holding her close. "We'll do it together," he whispered. "We'll make sure justice is served."

Lucien felt a sense of relief wash over her. She knew she wasn't alone, that Ace was by her side. Together, they could face whatever challenges lay ahead.

As they held each other, Lucien realized that she had been given a second chance. She had a chance to reclaim her father's property, to restore her family's legacy. And she had Ace to thank for it.

With newfound determination, Lucien pulled back from Ace. "Let's do it," she said, her voice firm. "Let's take back what's mine."

Ace smiled, his eyes shining with approval. "That's my girl," he said. "We'll do it together, every step of the way."

And with that, Lucien and Ace began their journey to reclaim her father's property. They were ready to face whatever obstacles lay ahead, knowing they had each other's backs.

Fiona's eyes narrowed as she stared at her phone, her mind racing with frustration. Why wasn't Lucien responding? Didn't she know who Fiona was? Fiona's sense of entitlement and self-importance had always led her to believe that she was the center of the universe, and that everyone else revolved around her.

As she waited for a response that never came, Fiona's thoughts turned darker. She began to think of ways to get what she wanted, no matter the cost. She was convinced that Lucien's good fortune was somehow a mistake, that it was meant for her instead.

Fiona's eyes scanned her room, her gaze landing on a photo of her and Lucien from when they were kids. She sneered at the image, feeling a surge of resentment towards her cousin. Why did Lucien get to have all the luck? Why did she get to marry a rich and powerful man, while Fiona was stuck in a dead-end job and a mediocre life?

Fiona's anger and jealousy simmered just below the surface, waiting to boil over. She was determined to get what she wanted, no matter what it took. And if that meant sabotaging Lucien's life, then so be it.

Wilson's expression turned pale as he processed Fiona's request. "Fiona, I don't know if that's a good idea," he said, his voice trembling slightly. "Lucien's husband is a powerful man. If we cross him, we could lose everything."

Fiona's eyes narrowed, her face twisting in frustration. "What are you talking about, Dad?" she demanded. "We need to take Lucien down a peg. She thinks she's so much better than us just because she married some rich guy."

Wilson shook his head, his eyes filled with fear. "You don't understand, Fiona. Lucien's husband has the power to ruin us. If we mess with him, we'll lose everything. We'll go bankrupt."

Fiona's face fell, her expression softening slightly as she realized the gravity of the situation. She had never thought about the potential consequences of her actions. She had only thought about getting what she wanted, no matter the cost.

Fiona stood outside the house, looking around uncertainly. She had been determined to finally catch up with her cousin, but now it seemed that Lucien was nowhere to be found.

Just then, a woman appeared from around the corner, a look of confusion on her face. "Can I help you?" she asked.

Fiona smiled, trying to seem friendly. "Hi, I'm Fiona. I'm looking for Lucien."

The woman's eyes narrowed, her expression changing from confusion to wariness. "Fiona?" she repeated. "As in, Lucien's cousin Fiona?"

Fiona nodded, starting to feel a sense of unease. "That's right," she said.

The woman's eyes seemed to bore into her, as if searching for something. "I'm Alicia," she said finally. "A friend of Lucien's."

Fiona's instincts told her that Alicia was not happy to see her. She tried to brush it off, but she could sense a tension in the air.

"What brings you here?" Alicia asked, her voice cool.

Fiona hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "I just wanted to catch up with Lucien," she said finally.

Alicia raised an eyebrow. "Lucien's not here," she said. "She moved to LA."

Fiona's eyes widened in surprise. "LA?" she repeated.

Alicia nodded. "Yes. She's living with her husband now."

Fiona's mind was racing. She had to find a way to get to Lucien in LA. But Alicia's next words stopped her cold.

"Listen, Fiona. I don't know what kind of game you're playing, but Lucien's happy now. She's moved on from all the pain you caused her. Leave her alone."

Fiona's face fell, her eyes narrowing in anger. How dare Alicia speak to her like that? She was Lucien's family, after all.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Fiona said, trying to sound innocent.

Alicia raised an eyebrow. "Don't play dumb, Fiona. I know all about how you treated Lucien. You made her life miserable, and now you're just showing up out of the blue, expecting her to welcome you with open arms?"

Fiona's anger boiled over, and she took a step forward, her hands clenched into fists. "How dare you," she spat. "You don't know anything about me or my relationship with Lucien."

Alicia stood her ground, her eyes flashing with anger. "I know enough," she said. "And I'm telling you, Fiona, to leave Lucien alone. She deserves better than someone like you, who only cares about herself."

Fiona's face twisted in rage, and for a moment, it seemed like she might lash out at Alicia. But then, she seemed to regain control of herself, and a sly smile spread across her face.

"This isn't over," Fiona said, her voice dripping with malice. "I'll make sure Lucien pays for what she's done to me."

Alicia's eyes widened in alarm, and she took a step back, her heart racing with fear. She knew that she had to warn Lucien about Fiona's threats.
