"Mom I miss you!" Kota said, as he looked at his mother fading into the distance. Chirp! The sound of birds awoke him. He slowly looked around. The sun was just rising, as it was dark outside with a orange hue. Trees covered most of the light protruding through the leaves of the cave entrance. His arms were numb with static going through them, from the two girls laying on them.
He shook Amelia and Shina. "Time to get up." He said in a soft tone. They both rolled into his arms more and grabbed his tattered shirt. They did not want to wake up just yet. "Come on. We gotta get going." He tried persuading the half asleep girls. They reluctantly rolled over and slowly woke up from they're slumber. Kota stood up and stepped outside.
The light from the newly lit earth was blinding. It took a few seconds for his vision to adjust as the water droplets on the leafs were reflecting light towards him. He covered his eyes until they adjusted. It was a gorgeous morning as he looked out from the cave entrance. Birds were chirping and flapping around the tree tops.
Aisha stepped outside with the same blinding light, followed behind was the rest of the girls. Lukas was the last to step outside, he had a drowsy face still and hunched over as if he could fall asleep at any moment. "Not good sleep last night?" Amelia asked teasingly. Her smug face pissed him off. "Well if you kept the fucking down, I'd be able to sleep better." He replied. Amelia froze, she slowly turned towards Shina, a glare in her eyes as if to say they needed to talk privately.
Lukas just walked past Amelia as if he didn't care about they're relationship, even though he was mistaken of her having sex. She held her tongue. Kota ignored the whole conversation to not fuel the fire. The group walked through the trees with Aisha in the lead.
The group reached the village in a few hours. "Finally!@ Lukas exclaimed. The town was bustling with many merchants and townsfolk. They stepped closer to the village. As they made they're first step onto the paved road, they heard chatter anywhere they went. The creatures of this town whispered amongst themselves when they walked by.
The group looked around as they saw many races of creatures, not many of them did they know of. Some were told in books while others were rumors. Aisha looked up at them "you are the first humans ever to set foot here. It's only natural the town would gossip." She smiled trying to ease the groups tension. Kota walked on with confidence. He didn't really care what the town thought of him.
He looked back towards the group, as they were all tense and staying on alert. They're hands stayed close to they're weapons to draw them at any time. "Relax, they won't harm us." Kota said as the rest of them relaxed. His word had saved them this far. Why wouldn't they listen to him, as he was already they're leader.
"What are humans doing here!" A voice grumbled from behind them. "Oh? So you can speak the human tongue?" Kota said while smirking his way. "We are not here to cause trouble, just looking for a place to rest." He said trying to ease the tension between them, while standing his ground. He didn't want them to think he was weaker "So? Your humans. Our natural enemy." He responded while reaching for his spear on his back.
This creature was a Gwindle. They have great natural strength, as they're body compound was made with more muscle than anything else. It was a bit shorter than humans. But its round blue body was easily mistaken as fat, rather than pure muscle. It's a creature that is known to humans. It's body lay out was similar to humans, with three big toes, yet its hand has four fingers.
"Oh so we can't reason with you? This is why your low life creatures with low intellect." Kota said in a bit of rage. His blood was boiling. He didn't realize what he spoken, as he had just looked down on an entire race. The creatures around him started whispering. Aisha held her hand over her face wanting to disappear. Her embarrassment of being with this group in a town she has been to was too much for her to handle.
The creatures around dashed towards Kota. (Blinding fast.) he had no time to think as a spear came inches from his face. It had felt like time had slowed down to a crawl. (Move) he thought to himself. He forcefully dragged his body to the side. The spear had nicked his face, as blood dripped off his cheek. He slung his blade that was dragging on the ground upwards.the creature moved its neck as his blade whirled past. Kota spun around with the momentum of his slash, gaining small distance between the two of them.
(He's too fast for me.) he thought as they both were at a standstill. "Your a strong fleshly creature." The Gwindle spoke up, as its eyes locked onto Kota's. He just snorted and readied his weapons again. The Gwindle dashed at him again with blinding speed Faster than the first time. (Oh shit) he thought as he noticed the Gwindle large foot slamming into his stomach. He coughed blood and was sent flying into a nearby building. The building was made of stone, and slightly crumbled after he had passed through it.
He was bleeding everywhere. "Kota!" Shinas voice rang out. Amelia was staring in the direction of the Gwindle. Her anger was about to burst forth. Lukas had noticed it and put his hand out to stop her. She looked at him as he shook his head no. The light in her eyes burned low. She had relaxed a bit.
Kota stood up out of the rubble. His mind was turning dark. A dark aura had surrounded him. Purple mana had gathered around him, slowly building up. "Who's making a mess in my town!" A raspy voice boomed from behind the crowd. Kota had felt the pressure of a thousand beasts pressing down on him. His aura had faded along with the mana gathering.
He knelt down as his power faded and his wounds were severe. Blood dripped from his mouth, as his organs had been spun around from the impact. He couldn't move an inch as he felt the pressure getting closer. His mind told him to run but his body was not moving. "Is this the being bringing havoc in my town." It spoke as its voice was heard looming over Kota.
He struggled to lift his head in his direction, but he forcefully pushed through. "A View'ta!" Kota expressed his thoughts out loud. The View'ta had an intriguing look on its face. "A human who knows my race. Interesting fleshling arnt you." It spoke, as its voice boomed.
This creature was as beautiful as it was dangerous. A decedent of the dragon kind. It's human like shape was as elegant as it shimmered with white scales. If its scales were replaced with skin, they would be almost identical species. The only difference would be the horns protruding from its head. Its feet were of a bird like, while it covered its legs in a wrap. Its face structure was of more a bird like than it was a human. He was old, as the light in its eyes have long faded.
"You and your group will come with me. Now follow." He said while turning around and starting to walk. Kota struggled to stand, but eventually stammered to his feet, he was holding his side and hunched over. As he stood up he could tell he had broken a few ribs.
Shina and Amelia ran over to him "are you okay." They were worried about him, as they helped him walked, wrapping his arms around they're shoulders. They followed in the footsteps of the View'ta, Aisha and Lukas following behind. They walked right towards the Gwindle.
"Out of the way!" The View'ta spoke up. "I'm sorry but he just disrespected my whole lineage. I cannot let him leave alive." It spoke to the View'ta. "Huh? Not listening you imbecile creature?" He had slammed his staff into the side of the Gwindle sending him flying into an open field a good kilometer away. Its body crashed into the ground and lay there not moving. The group didn't know if it was dead or alive at that point. The speed of his blow was mind blowing. They didn't even see him move.
The group had understood the situation that if this creature didn't want them to live, they wouldn't be alive. They followed silently and would respect anything the creature asked. Kota had limped for 30 minutes, not trying to pass out from the pain he was in.
As they reached a large mansion, fenced in. Its doors were large and bulky. Its structure was strange, as it was more circular and not symmetrical at all. It seemed as if it was just thrown together, but with care in each strategy they used. It's materials were strange, with a mix of stone and mud, and some other material unknown. Vines crawled all around it.
Guards stood around the large front yard. The gates at most points were guarded. These creatures were unknown to them. "Come inside and rest little creatures." It spoke out brazen. It took the first steps through the gate. The rest of the group followed suite. Reaching the massive two front doors, they had swung open, as if his return was planned.
In the doors creatures were greeting him in they're language. The team froze for a second. "After you." Amelia held her hand out towards Lukas who just stepped up beside her. He turned to look at her with an upset expression on his face. "Let's go." Kota managed to mutter out. They walked inside carefully after.
The mansion was dimly lit, as a slope of large vines wrapped up the inside of the mansion. It reached the second floor. "Take this vine up to the second floor and find a room to stay in. I will send someone with food. Tomorrow we will talk." It spoke out, while it headed down a hallway into darkness.
"Well let's head up." Lukas spoke up. They all agreed and headed towards the vine. It was steep and dangerous while carrying Kota. They reached the top with much struggle. Amelia's foot slipped off at one point, but she had caught her balance. "Just pick a room." Kota muttered. They headed for the closest door. It was huge and bulky. Three times the size of them. Lukas pushed on the door but to no avail. "Give me a hand here.
Amelia and Shina sat down Kota up against a wall made of vines. He groaned as the pain was severe. Aisha walked over to him and started chanting. "Revak haas"the same particles emitted And dispersed. It helped ease his pain, but the damage was too severe for her to heal. She couldn't replace bones or regrow limbs. She only had her one spell she knew.
Amelia and Lukas opened the door with a loud creak. The walked inside as the room was almost vacant. It had a padded center to the room, while a lantern hung over the top. Other than that, the room was vacant. They stepped to the padded area and sat down after closing the doors. Kota laid in the center unable to move, his breathing was hectic.
Knock! The door slowly creeped open. A creature stepped in. Its head the shape of a horrifying goat. Yet its aura had left a innocent and lasting impression on them. It's white fur and gentle movements had made the group feel unthreatened by it. "Zu'u drun haas" it's gentle voice spoke out. Its hands carrying a small bowl.
It bent down and sat the bowl next to Kota. "Naak" it said as it walked out, closing the door behind her. The group had all assumed it was female. Kota slowly sat up, as Amelia and Shina rushed to him to help him up. Lukas had a jealous face, as Aisha stared at him. He reached his hand out to take a bit from the bowl, his vision was blurry. He didn't have a care, as long as it made him better.
He scarfed down four bites before even tasting it. On his fifth bite he spit it out and started coughing. "Terrible." He said under his breathe. He slowly grabbed the squishy meat like food out the bowl and continued to eat. It was horrendous, and he wanted to throw up after each bite. After finishing the bowl, his vision darkened as he fell asleep.
