The vision had left Genevieve cold. Not just from seeing Edric in chains and blood but in the way he was tied down by the chain; he was unconscious. It wasn't a dream. She needs to get to where he is. She needs to rescue him from where he is.
Moving along the way she has seen in the vision, Genevieve, along with her allies Alice and Garron moved into the fortress in search of Edric.
Now she stood before the fortress.
It didn't belong to any kingdom. No maps bore its mark. The entrance was carved into the side of a black cliff, half-swallowed by creeping moss and ash-colored ivy. It smelled of rot and ancient spells, of rusted iron and dead things that still moved.
She didn't hesitate. Her hand hovered over the necklace Edric had given her when she got into the palace as his mate. She tucked it beneath her armor and stepped inside.
