Selene and Tracy, who had been standing at the edge of the group, moved closer. "We're with you," Tracy said quietly, her voice steady. "This is our fight too."
Vardy nodded, his heart swelling with ease. He had led them before, and they had followed him. And now, in the face of an enemy greater than any they had ever known, they were still with him.
"We'll gather our allies," Vardy said, his voice firm. "We need to strengthen Haven, prepare for the worst, and start seeking out every scrap of knowledge we can find about the System. We'll face this head-on. Together."
