Chapter 99 - Chapter 98: Tinkers’ Expansion

Yang Tao had finally calmed down. Looking at the golden-glowing Arceus before him, he felt completely numb.

He made a decision—whenever he needed luck for something, he was bringing Haku along.

With their spoils in hand, the three of them returned home and started searching through their supplies for materials to build a Tinkers' Construct setup. They also found a new spot to expand their Tinkers' workshop and work on automating resource production.

Yang Tao placed a Tier 5 Cobblestone Generator on the ground and instructed Zabuza and Haku to flatten the surrounding area.

Cobblestone Generators are usually used alongside resource duplication mods, but he never expected them to be combined here.

This meant they would never run out of cobblestone. Once they got a mod for transport pipes, they could fully automate the process.

True hands-free operation!

He mixed sand, clay, and gravel to make grout, then put it in the furnace to bake into seared bricks. While waiting for them to finish, he didn't waste any time.

Using clay balls and bone meal, he crafted porcelain clay and made crucibles.

"Might as well make some crucibles," Yang Tao muttered. "Even though this isn't a Skyblock world, having a way to make lava will still be really useful."

He made ten crucibles in one go, set up hoppers to feed them from a chest full of cobblestone, and automated lava production. From now on, they would never run out of lava again.

Next, Yang Tao grabbed some wood and started crafting all the workstations needed for Tinkers' Construct—stencil tables, part builders, tool stations, and pattern chests.

Looking at the completed setup, he couldn't help but reminisce about his old Skyblock survival days. Back then, resources were so scarce at the start. But now? He had everything he needed within easy reach.

Soon, the seared bricks were ready. Yang Tao crafted a ton of seared stone bricks and built two smelteries.

One would be for processing raw ore to maximize output.

The other would be for smelting alloys needed for advanced tools.

With all the core components of the Tinkers' mod set up, the only tricky part left was figuring out the best alloy combinations and how to upgrade tools effectively.

"First, I'll make a cleaver for Zabuza!" Yang Tao had planned this from the start—he wanted to craft Zabuza a proper heavy blade.

After all, Zabuza's Executioner's Blade was practically useless in this world. It barely did any damage.

A cleaver suited Zabuza's image much better. Maybe it was just the mental image of him always wielding a giant sword, but this felt right.

A sharp obsidian cleaver was quickly made.

"This will do for now. I'll go to the Nether later to mine Ardite and Cobalt to upgrade it!" Yang Tao had no new ores since he hadn't gone mining in the Nether yet, so he had to make do with obsidian.

He then crafted an obsidian pickaxe, getting ready for some mining.

Yang Tao called Zabuza over. "Zabuza, come here. I got you a weapon. See if you like it."

Zabuza took the cleaver and swung it a couple of times. It felt just right in his hands. "It fits well, my lord. Thank you!"

Zabuza was satisfied with the weapon Yang Tao handed him.

"Oh, right!" Yang Tao suddenly remembered he could also make a boomerang for Zabuza. That way, he could fight both up close and from a distance.

He quickly crafted a boomerang and handed it to Zabuza. "Zabuza, both of these weapons can be upgraded. Once you gain enough experience using them, you can upgrade different attributes with materials."

"You can upgrade three times right now. Take a look and see what attributes you want to enhance."

As he spoke, Yang Tao handed Zabuza a Tinkers' book.

Meanwhile, Yang Tao also made a rapier and a boomerang for Haku, who had just finished flattening the ground and was walking over.

Haku and Zabuza both studied the Tinkers' book carefully and soon made their choices.

Zabuza went for Sharpness, using quartz to enhance his cleaver, turning the blade white. The sharpness attribute reached level three.

Haku chose Speed, which turned the entire rapier red.

"Alright! You two head to the Nether together, fight monsters, and upgrade your weapons! If they start wearing out, remember to come back and repair them! You read the book, so you know what to do!" After giving them instructions, Yang Tao sent them on their way.

Damn it! They're holding hands right in front of me! Yang Tao felt like the two of them were getting way too comfortable with each other.

As a single guy, Yang Tao suddenly felt like he was torturing himself.

"Maybe I should find a girlfriend too?" Being alone all the time was starting to feel off.

Muttering to himself, he threw a diamond into a 2x2 water pool he had prepared.

A bolt of lightning suddenly struck down from the sky, hitting the diamond in the water.

 The Twilight Portal opened!
