The bed frame had collapsed from yesterday's fierce activities. And now, the mattress was sitting in a corner of the room.
Ryder leaned his back against the wall and Reana sat beside him, her head turned towards him, waiting patiently for him to start talking.
But instead of talking, Ryder brought his weight down on her - his head resting on her lap, gaze on the ceiling.
"You're right, I'm different," he began, his gaze shifting back to her face. "I'm gifted."
"Such as?" She was also gifted, so she wasn't surprised.
"My mindlink is upgraded…" he didn't know how to put it.
Their kind has telepathy skills – mindlink. But in Ryder's case, his was more advanced.
"Mine don't only stop at mindlinking, I control minds, thoughts, and even pressure the mind into exploding, causing instant death."
Reana took a sharp breath. Speechless for a moment. She'd guessed he was powerful but not like this.
