Reana's eyes widened, her face pale except for two burning spots of color. Ryder was forcing her to choose him, no matter the outcome of the contest.
If she decided to adhere to her principles, there was no guarantee that Ryder wouldn't kill whoever won the competition, just to have her, since he wasn't remorseful for killing Hale.
And Reana didn't want any more killings of her pack members.

Reana's heart raced, she felt like she was betraying her pack's trust, yet Ryder was unyielding. He didn't seem to care about her dilemma. "You knew what we were getting into, Ryder. Why are you forcing me to choose you now? It's cheating."
