Time flew by, and days passed like a fleeting moment.
Kushina Uzumaki's due date had arrived.
A day earlier, she had already been moved to a secluded cave behind the Hokage Rock to await childbirth, with Minato by her side.
Outside, multiple layers of sealing barriers had been set up—nothing, not even a mosquito, could get through.
...
"The moon is so full tonight. That's got to be a good omen. If it's a boy, they'll probably use the name I suggested..."
Jiraiya lay sprawled across the stone face of the Third Hokage's monument, supporting his head with one hand as he leisurely took in the view of Konoha.
Behind him, the security forces and Root operatives stood in silent vigilance.
Gazing at the moonlit village, Danzo felt an inexplicable unease creeping into his heart—a vague premonition of disaster.
Could that traitor really be planning to act now? After all, this isn't the same Konoha as in the original timeline...
Jiraiya glanced at the assembled guards and the grim-faced Danzo.
"Elder, you're overthinking things. Nothing's going to happen."
"Besides, with the great Toad Sage here, even if an enemy does show up, I'll deal with them in no time. Hahaha!"
Bored, Jiraiya continued rambling with a smug grin.
Danzo finally understood why Tsunade always punched him.
He'd been back in the village for a month, yet no one had seen him. If anyone wanted to find him, they'd have to check the rooftop of the hot springs.
Even Pakura, who stood behind Danzo, still found it hard to believe that this perverted old man was one of the legendary Sannin. He was nothing like the warrior who had fought in the Land of Rivers battlefield.
Looking at the peaceful village and the carefree Jiraiya, Danzo could only sigh inwardly.
"We should still be cautious—"
Suddenly, a firework shot up from the eastern side of Konoha, bursting into an eye-catching flare in the night sky.
It was Konoha's emergency distress signal.
At that moment, Yamanaka Inoichi, who had been standing silently with his eyes closed to receive intelligence, suddenly opened them.
"A masked figure in black has breached the eastern defenses. The Anbu squad is already en route..."
Jiraiya, now sitting upright, wore a serious expression. He hadn't expected Danzo's concerns to come true.
To break through Konoha's defenses while it was on high alert—whoever it was had to be at least Kage-level.
As everyone was still processing the situation—
"ROAR!"
A massive figure emerged on the eastern side of the village, letting out a thunderous roar at the moon before spreading its wings and taking flight. Its terrifying silhouette loomed over Konoha.
"The Seven-Tails..." Jiraiya exclaimed in shock.
Every ninja present tensed up.
"So, it's come after all..."
Strangely, Danzo felt a sense of calm now that his fears had materialized.
"Inoichi, send out the evacuation order as planned." After issuing the command, he turned to Jiraiya. "Jiraiya, take Shisui and Pakura to intercept the Seven-Tails. I'll handle things here."
Without hesitation, the three figures vanished into the village below.
Danzo looked up at the distant sky, where the Seven-Tails had already begun attacking Konoha.
So, they even managed to bring the Seven-Tails here...
The massive beast glided low over Konoha's rooftops, resembling a gigantic bomber plane as it unleashed chakra spheres in rapid succession.
"Boom! Boom!"
Konoha's long-standing peace was shattered.
Panicked villagers poured into the streets, fleeing in terror.
"Mom!"
"Help! My child is still inside!"
"Don't panic! This way! To the shelters!"
Even with a contingency plan in place, the village was in complete chaos.
The enormous shadow overhead and the deafening explosions instilled an overwhelming sense of dread.
Numerous ninja attempted to halt the Seven-Tails' bombardment, but their efforts were in vain.
The beast showed no awareness of its surroundings, mechanically repeating its low-altitude attacks.
It barely reacted to incoming jutsu, merely dodging when necessary before resuming its relentless assault.
Meanwhile, every major clan received a directive from the Hokage, delivered by Anbu messengers.
"Summon all Jonin to defend the village. Chunin and Genin, assist in the civilian evacuation."
Uchiha Fugaku also received the order, but his expression darkened as he stared at the pattern in the Seven-Tails' eyes as it passed low overhead.
His chest tightened with rage, nearly making him cough up blood.
"Father, Danzo-sama has instructed that this matter does not concern the Uchiha clan. Please make your decision soon," Itachi advised calmly.
The Sharingan pattern in the sky had just undone years of the Uchiha's efforts in an instant.
Fugaku forced himself to regain composure, though his face remained as dark as ever.
"Gather the clan for evacuation. I will personally lead a squad to intercept that beast. Those who seek to frame the Uchiha will pay dearly."
"Understood, Father."
After the initial panic subsided, large numbers of ninja began organizing civilians on the rooftops and streets, guiding them toward the shelters.
With the ninja taking control, the villagers' fear began to lessen.
There were still casualties, but the hysteria was beginning to settle, replaced by a more orderly evacuation.
